  1. I actually noticed a number of good defensive plays from Hoggy the last 2 games. I feel like his all around game is starting to come around. The last two games he has shown that hunger to get the puck back that made him so good last year.
  2. I really like this idea in general. Hockey here in general needs a lot more fan-led cheering instead of whenever a Jumbotron tells you to.
  3. I also like this idea! The other team hating your goal song is part of why the Chicago Blackhawks song is so effective.
  4. While no backstory can make this goal song not suck I am curious to know what it is? Also, what is embarrassing about the goal song I posted?
  5. I am pretty sure our current goal song kills the excitement of scoring a goal all by itself. A good goal song should get the crowd pumped up! Although I hate their goal song (traumatic memories) the Chicago Blackhawks have a great one. It gets the crowd pumped up and they can easily sing along. I would like to hear everyone else's ideas for a great goal song! The chorus from this song is my choice (50 sec mark or so)
  6. We paid more to get rid of players who do less.
  7. This. But I also have stopped pulling my hair out at the constant line blending. BB has let guys build chemistry and the players can feel confident that if down by a goal the blender doesn't immediately come out. We talk about a lack team identity, we have one now. We aggressively come in waves at the other team and we can do this because we have 3 potent balanced lines. I understand that when things weren't going well Green liked to pull out the blender, but he did it so often it was to the detriment of the team in the end.
  8. Anyone see the game? I'd love to know how he did.
  9. Fair. But it would take a return bordering on too much to make me okay with letting him go. I love Miller, he's just too old for this core.
  10. They might if they feel this puts them over the top. They are a great team, but they need to beat a bunch of great teams to take the cup
  11. REVISED BASED ON FEEDBACK To Carolina: Miller To Van:. Kotkaniemi, Seth Jarvis, Scott Morrow I know a lot of people are excited about the Boudreau bump, but I don't believe that we can really be a contender in the duration of Miller's contract. The return is a left shot center and a right shot center both already in the NHL, both under 22 yo, both with the potential to be top 6. We also get a RD prospect with solid upside. . Things to note: Kotkaniemi's extension would need to be reasonable (ie 3-4 mil max) and done ahead of time. - this might be the largest hurdle. The cap hits are basically a wash halfway through the season. It gives Carolina a better chance of winning now as it does not overly deplete their current roster. They also still have Suzuki and Drury has center prospects coming up. They are also solid and young on right D. (A testament to where we are at in comparison) It gives us depth at centre and a blue chip RD prospect. Some may argue that Jarvis is too small, but he is 19 and already an NHL player. He has lots of time to bulk up. Miller can always return as a UFA if he wants. Hopefully by that time we are starting to look like a contender. The return is basically 2 1sts and a second. Which I think is decent value, though some may want a little more.
  12. He is 200 lbs, 21 yo with 200 NHL games under his belt and lots of room for growth.
  13. A little. I love Miller, but we are not a contending team and we should finally learn not to give a 30yo a big contract. The only way I see keeping Miller as making sense is if you feel we have a legitimate shot at the cup in the next year and a half or if he is open to a short term contract.
  14. Curious as to what would you like them to add? Do you think they could get Carolina to add a 1st or 2nd? I feel Kotkaniemi has more room to grow. The recent outbreak in Carolina has given him more playing time and better linemates and he has produced 9 points in 11 games.
  15. To Carolina:. Miller To Vancouver:. Kotkaniemi (negotiated long term contract that doesn't start with a 6) and Bear We get younger, fill a hole at RD, and stay deep at centre. They get an elite centre/wing at a low cap for 2 runs at the cup. They also have Drury coming to replace Kotkaniemi and Bear is stuck at 3 RD on a very deep team. Also interested what people feel would be a fair value contact for Kotkaniemi?
  16. It feels like Gadjovich is a lot like Chaisson (Sp?). Bigger body, likely lower in the lineup but not lacking skill. Great in front of the net. I am torn between the two, but I lean towards Gad, who is not as good yet but I feel like he can get there and is significantly younger. Short term pain for hopefully longer term gain. It would be a much easier decision if he didn't need to go through waivers.
