  1. I wouldn't trade Hronek (3 years younger RFA) for Pesce (UFA)
  2. I'm not building up Beavillier and definitely not endorsing that proposed deal. Was just pointing out the fact that Tarasenko is no longer a "top end guy" like you suggested. It's fairly obvious that on day 8 of free agency that he is far from it.
  3. He will be 32 in December and those 6 straight 30 goal seasons were 10 to 4 years ago. He put up connor garland numbers last year. Quit living in the past. He is not a "top end guy" anymore.
  4. I believe you are thinking about David Tanabe... that would have been 17 years ago under a different CBA. In his case the award was only 1.275 mil but Boston was tight with the cap so let him walk. That case was probably one of the reasons the NHLPA fought hard to get the new rule in place.
  5. No doubt, why would they want Beauvillier's measly 18 goals when they can get a top end guy like Tarasenko to score them 18 goals.
  6. Offensively? Definitely! Bear injured himself at the world's and will miss the first part of the season. Try to keep up.
  7. Only allowed to walk away if the award is over $4,538,958. Otherwise you are stuck with it.
  8. For Hughes sake you are basically looking at Hughes with Schenn/Juulsen vs Bear. You would hope that his offense would be much better with the latter. Bear was clearly a better option than what we had... but that's not saying much.
  9. As sad as that is. What an amazing bit of luck for him and his family to have signed a 4 year deal as a UFA after only 120 nhl games played. Had he signed a 1 year deal and then got hurt he would be out 7.5 million. If he never plays another game he will have made over 12 million dollars. That's 6.07 million per 82 games!
  10. So you are saying 2 firsts for Karlsson at 7.5 and then a first for a team to retain more bringing that cap down to 5 million?
  11. 3 1st round picks for Erik Karlsson (who will be 38 when the deal is up in 4 years) at 7.5 million per? No way he gets that.
  12. Stevie has been throwing money around like hotcakes, I wonder if he would be willing to move off of zadina's contract by taking Garland back. We could bury Zadina in Abbotsford if he doesn't impress at camp, would only cost us $700,000 against the cap to park him there and let him work on his game.
  13. ... San Jose, Anaheim, Montreal, Columbus, st Louis, Philadelphia, Washington. All before us
  14. Dear Eight Pound, Six Ounce, Newborn Infant Jesus, don't even know a word yet, just a little infant, so cuddly, but still omnipotent. We prey that Gonchar and Foote can help mold Mr soucy into a top 4 dman. Also due to a binding endorsement contract that stipulates I mention PowerAde at each grace, I just wanna say that PowerAde is delicious and it cools you off on a hot summer day and we look forward to PowerAde's release of mystic mountain blueberry. Thank you, for all your power and your grace, Dear Baby God, Amen.'
  15. I think that was a convo before they bought out OEL, they decided to go the other way and wait out the giraffe. But yeah the buyout window is over and we have too many wingers so that ships sailed.
  16. Especially when 1 of those fights is against a 99 point player (jt miller). I could Give a crap if my 5th string dman got punched twice before falling in a wrestling match if it meant taking away the other teams leading scorer for 5 minutes (if not more because he instigated for destroying his teammate with clean hit).
  17. He is not a good fighter and doesn't go looking for fights. All 5 of his fights were him answering the bell for laying people out. I'd rather him stand up and lose than turtle and be a Cooke.
