  1. Garland would be a fan favorite instantly there. Not only his tenacious game but the fact that he was born 20 minutes outside of Boston and was a junior bruin as a kid. Would be a great story for them.
  2. You just agreed with what I said. They absolutely tanked in 2017-18 and the drafted tkatchuk. At that point they tore it down... and rightfully so.
  3. That's all fine and dandy but JT with 2 playoffs and a season plus under contract is worth way more than jt with less than a season and one cup run.
  4. No way I do that deal. Debrusk requires a 4.1 mil QO this summer, zboril is a bottom pairing dman, we have no need for swayman
  5. Actualy shortly before those trades they absolutely tanked and were one pf the worst teams in the league...(hello tkatchuk!). The elc young guns like Stuzle and Norris? Sorry, those guys don't exist in that reality, they were acquired by retooling. By your logic the Canadiens should double down and hold on to all of their aging vets because after all shortly before now they were in the cup finals. They just need to keep going in that direction... easy peasy!
  6. So you are saying that if they signed Duchene, Stone and Karlsson to huge long term contracts (29 million worth) rather than trading them that they would be a cup contender?
  7. Because the 2 time defending Stanley cup champions in a tax free sunshine state are remotely comparable to basement team in a highly taxed Canadian market.
  8. They liked him so much they traded down in the draft to take him. Gave up the pick that chychrun was taken with.
  9. Pearson is 175th in points by forwards this season... 32 teams x 6 (top 6 forwards)= 192 top 6 forwards Pearson is actually 141st in points by forwards over the last 3 seasons combined
  10. -Pearson is 6th in forward production for our team this year. -was 6th in forward production last year -was 4th in forward production the year before Since when did top 6 become bottom of the lineup?
  11. Not going to slag miller who is a playoff warrior and has 18 points in 17 games as a canuck. But Bo is and always has been a playoff beast even before he came to the NHL. His run to the 2013 memorial cup was the stuff of legends! He scored 16 goals in 23 games the last of which was the game-winning goal with 0.1 seconds left to play in Game 7 of the OHL finals. Horvat received the Wayne Gretzky 99 Award for the most valuable player in the OHL playoffs.
  12. Hamonic's NTC is only 8 teams so they have 23 options. Who would even want him is the bigger issue.
  13. The point was sure thing prospects aren't always sure thing prospects. I like that you used the erat for forsberg example. People trade top prospects to load up. Ask Jerome Iginla.
  14. If we move out a contract before he hits his 10th game we could absorb his bonus into this season and then retain 50%. Halak at 1.5 million at the deadline is worth a 2nd all day.
  15. How about trading Hodgson in 2011 for a top 6 center or top 4 dman? Would have all but guaranteed us a cup.... but Hodgson was our top prospect so I'm glad we didn't do it!!!
  16. Hoglander and a 1st in the 25-32 range? I would do it if i thought we were one piece away from a cup and had the cap space to do it. Would make a lot of sense to a serious contender.
  17. It's not a canuck trade but how about what Matt Duchene got? He was a 26 year old center with a year and a half left on his contract who was clearly not playing up to JT's current level but he was the creme of the crop for available centers at the time. Returned 6 pieces.... -a unprotected 1st (Bowen Byram) -a highly touted young prospect in Girard -a former 1st round prospect in Bowers -a former 2nd round prospect in Kamenev -a 2nd round pick -a 3rd round pick
  18. Yes Linden was unhappy with Messier and Keenan. Who wasn't? When you say he had declined are you talking about his 80 pount season 2 years before or his 40 points in 49 games (67 point pace) the year before the trade? You are right that his stats started to fall off of a cliff that season and the years after but can you blame him? He was 28 years old... same age as Miller is actually. Yes bertuzzi and McCabe were very promising young players, much like the asking price for Miller. As far as trading Bo? Nobody is untradable ask Gretzky.
  19. Reminds me of the time we traded Trevor Linden and did not get anything better back. Just 3 hopefulls (Bertuzzi,McCabe and Ruttu).
  20. Boeser is scoring at .3 goals per game right now. He would only have to have scored 3 more goals this far to be on a 30g/82game pace (.37)
  21. Severson is horrible defensively, has only 1 year left on his deal and is 27 and a half years old. That's a huge no. Bruins 1st would be I'm the 25-32 range, the 2nd in the 55-64 range and Debrusk has almost no value with a 4.41 million dollar qualifying offer at seasons end. You must really hate the Canucks!
