  3. I am glad someone brought up Chicken Pox. Chicken Pox is relatively harmless but annoying and unpleasant. Unfortunately for us, that mild pox grows teeth later in life and is capable of striking us down with one of the most painful conditions known; Shingles. COVID is obviously deadlier but still considered mild by (too) many people. We are getting reports of long-term effects but this is after just weeks or months of exposure. What effect will this disease have on our bodies years down the road? I can guarantee you that the speculative side-effects associated with a new vaccine are dwarfed in severity by the speculative health problems that can arise from Covid exposure. Even those that were asymptomatic can still end up with terminal health issues which should automatically divorce people from the “herd immunity through exposure” school of fighting this illness. Even if you don’t care about front-line workers or flattening the curve, there are other reasons to keep your ass at home and get inoculated when the vaccine is available to you.
  4. I have never fished Warren (actually haven’t fished any of those lakes north of Kamloops) although that will change next spring. I have a float tube, I will check it out.
  5. There a ton of sites in the area, and yes all lakes fishable by canoe although I would stick to the smaller lakes as Kamloops/Merritt plateau can get windy. There are sites on Roche (two separate sites, approx 29 total sites), each has a picnic table and a fire pit with steel grill ($15/night if resort is open, they will also sell firewood and other essentials). Horseshoe has 4 sites and Bleeker has around 5-6 sites. You can take trailers into Roche North and Horesehoe but Bleeker and Roche West are a little rougher going in (die hards still take their trailers in tho). Black is the roughest going with a few large puddles to navigate, but it is short (1km). All of the lakes except for Bleeker are in a provincial park so there are some additional restrictions to camping (mostly around scavenging wood etc and ATV’s/Dirtbikes).
  6. The fish in the OP was from Gardom lol. It was the last lake I fished this year. I will def try Mayflies this Spring.
  7. Thanks man and that is a beautiful rainbow. Cheers! If you were in Salmon Arm, I am sure you fished White Lake or maybe Philips? I can’t resist fishing White Lake, that water is something else.
  8. Roche Lake. You have to make this your home base and then fish every lake in the vicinity (Bleeker, Horseshoe, Black, Hosli). While these lakes are great, Roche is hands down my favourite lake in BC. Another solid choice would be Hwy 24 (known as “The Fishing Highway”. Sheridan Lake has monsters (big lake with lots of nice bays) or Irish Lake (big fish but does see a lot of traffic).
  9. I get not using a WB but the Tom Thumb will always have a place in my box. One of my secret lakes has an insane Traveller’s Sedge hatch and hooking 20”+ bows on dry flies in clear water is fun as #%@$!
  10. I pretty much am one of those types, but I don’t expect others to follow suit. None of my close friends are fly-fisherman, they prefer to troll lakes with flashers and wedding bands. One thing we all have in common though is a passion to conserve our waters (we only use electric motors on the lakes and we release 99% of our catch). I do like running into other purists: use single barbless hooks, catch and release, use scud patterns as a last resort, refuse to use multi-imitation patterns like Spratleys or Careys etc When it comes to river or saltwater fishing however, I will use any rig that catches fish.
  11. The Vedder is a fantastic river but I can’t handle the traffic, situations like that (and moving to the interior) pretty much pushed me into becoming a stillwater fly-fisher. That being said it still has a special place in my heart as it was where I first swore in front of my family, being only seven at the time. I was running around the side channels with my cheap ass kid’s rig and I hooked a massive spawner. I was screaming at my dad to get the net when the hook popped out of it’s (ripe) mouth. I let loose a few gloriously prohibited words and sent my dad and uncle into a near unrecoverable laughing fit. Both goons still find it funny to this day.
  12. I love big lings, voracious suckers. My old man caught one that was huge (about 35 years ago), it had latched onto a rock cod he was pulling in and couldn’t spit it out due to the dorsal spines haha. Can’t beat 2 for 1 bottom fishing.
  13. Fishing in Beautiful B.C. And other parts of the world It has come to my attention that there are a few anglers and fly-fishers that are members of this forum. I would love to hear stories, see pictures, and discuss all things fishing related! Salmon,Trout, Char or other species; please share your lies experiences! It would also be cool if some of the more experienced anglers shared their knowledge, as one can never know too much! Personal Note: I would love to see fly-patterns from those who tie their own flies. I will be posting a few of the flies that I tie in my free time. Tight lines!
  14. By the way mafia, my save will be on myself, take a shot at me and one of you die.
  15. I’m a tp special, the Elite Bodyguard. I protect a player each round and if the mafia target that player both myself and the mafia who took the shot die. You donkeys need to find another random target to lynch.
  16. No one, was responding to LL and SS concerning NIK (who I don’t suspect atm).
