  1. No chance we trade Boeser or Virtanen IMO. I think Benning calls up Rafferty and Brisebois, maybe even Juolevi. Sees who fits.
  2. So many idiots out there it baffles me. They're mad we acquired Toffoli for, quite honestly, the best case scenario. Madden looks promising, but that's it. Doesn't mean he makes it to the NHL. Doesn't mean he becomes a full time NHL forward. Doesn't mean he even ends up signing with us. Then they're mad because Benning announced Boeser will be out much longer than expected... Maybe that's why he acquired Toffoli? Lol. Benning crushed it in my eyes. Excellent trade. The haters are just that. Haters. Doesn't matter what Benning does, they're just miserable people.
  3. Shut him down for the season if need be. Feel like he was playing hurt prior to this anyway.
  4. No reason Toffoli wouldn't sign in Van unless his desire his max dollar max term. Guy is entering his prime, probably wants another chance at the cup, Kings are obviously about to rebuild. We're not there yet but we're close. Can't see why he wouldnt consider it.
  5. I dont hate it, could have been far worse if we lost a roster player. Cant wait to see how he fits in with Petey or Bo. The guy lit us up everytime we played him, great player.
  6. What are you talking about the guy throws his weight around better than anyone I've seen in a long time. We need that right now.
  7. Feels like we didn't prepare at all, expected an easy win. Something like that. So tired of seeing us this disinterested.
  8. With Ferland out, Benning needs to acquire an enforcer. We're lacking in that department.
  9. Such a bizarre sequence of events. Wish I could have seen the entire thing play out. Was Myers just grabbing Silfverberg and trying to fight him? Cause if so wtf is he doing??? That Anaheim goon was 100% jumping in and throwing punches, so not sure why this is balanced out 5v5... So strange.
  10. The boys know they didn't play well vs Chicago, will be looking to bounce back. Days to rest and prepare for the Ducks. I'd say we're going to see a convincing win today.
  11. IMO, Benning goes for a versatile forward, an Enforcer, and an upgrade on D if available.
  12. Yup, no point risking anything at this point if he's not 100%. Take the year off and aim for training camp. You never know.
  13. Well deserved. I like Kassian but that was such a stupid thing to do.
  14. He is largely unimportant and replaceable since we have had success without him. If we can trade Schaller to the NYI in this case, and clear up cap space, that would be great. I just don't see how it makes sense for them to acquire a fourth line plug. Anyway, we're not going to change each others minds so lets agree to disagree.
  15. I've already stated that if we can make it work without moving any roster players, then that's the best position for us moving forward. I never claimed we need to sell him or cap dump him or anything like that, you guys put the words in my mouth. If the NYI propose a trade, then they are buying him. I have no problem moving Schaller or Roussel if it makes sense, but in the context of this thread, I don't see why the NYI would want them, as I've tried to point out to you. It wasn't a straw man, I played that out because you're saying he's too crucial for a playoff run. I just disagree, I think we would make it work, since he's been injured for half the season. My arguments are sound. You and others decided to twist what I'm saying and then move the goal posts. "Isles looking for a defensive forward" #contextmatters right?
  16. I'm not confused about anything. I've given my reasons as to why Sutter makes sense. You claimed I made a dumb suggestion even though it was perfectly valid in context, and then continue to suggest Schaller and I guess Roussel? Which makes no sense. There's no straw man. He's been injured, he hasn't been a critical piece for us. He's a quality depth forward when he's healthy. I've made my argument.
  17. Yeah, I started the conversation about clearing up cap. Keep up. Schaller is not a player that's going to put a team like NYI over the top to make the playoffs.
  18. But I thought he was so critical for our team? Yet he's played 59 games over the last two seasons. I wonder what we will do when his contracts up since he's so immensely valuable to us and can never be replaced.
  19. Well that's what this threads about, and you seem to think my suggestions are dumb, but you've offered up terrible solutions. Would we take on a $2mil contract for a fourth line plug and trade a pick? No. NYI don't want your suggestions, they want a Sutter, Beagle, or even an Eriksson if the deal can be sweetened. We don't need an agitator for a playoff run? Kesler and Burrows were critical pieces for us in 2011.
  20. Yeah I know I'm right, I've claimed they're expendable from other beginning. Sutter's been on the fourth line for the most part, but bottom six is fair. Once again, not saying he isn't useful, but ultimately replaceable. Sutter has taken 280 faceoffs all year Miller = 577 Beagle = 599 Horvat = 1248 My point still stands.
