  1. Agree with others, Wings in 6. On a side note, Boston just lost to New Jersey. They ended with 54-19-9 ... Look familiar? That's our exact record from 2011. On top of that, they won their first Presidents Trophy since 1990. Is this fiction? lol
  2. Me too man Trade the 6th pick and player for the 4th overall Then imagine trading some big pieces to Florida for the 2nd overall We end up drafting one of Ekblad/Reinhart/Bennett and Dal Colle The bad season would be worth it! Edit: More on Dal Colle, the fact he's putting up those points at 17 is amazing! We really should push for him.
  3. Look I haven't watched him play at all so this is just my opinion based off of highlights. Yes he is fast and does have great vision, but once he puts on weight I could see the outcome of him not transitioning well. Basically I could see him being a bust, just my opinion though, like I said I haven't watched him play. So comparing the two, I see more potential in Virtanen, I've never seen someone at that age shrug people off like that and still maintain speed and momentum. Plus he's got skill in a lot of category's and the weight necessary to transition into the NHL I just think he's a safe pick, and has LOTS of potential. With all that being said, I still hope we trade up to the top 5.
  4. Ehlers has great speed but he doesn't wow me in any other category. I'm with others, if we end up in the 7-11 range, lets grab Virtanen, he's something special.
  5. Really cool decision. Anyone else getting the feeling Pat Quinn might be involved in management?
  6. We should trade up to the 4th pick and grab Dal Colle, the guy looks so promising!
  7. The funny thing is this could have all been avoided
  8. Isn't Burke done with Calgary after this season? That would be badass!
  9. He did a lot of good things but I think some things were unforgivable. That goaltender drama that went on for years was a joke, still feel terrible for Lu. He didn't get the immediate help the team needed with assets like Hodgson and Schneider after the cup run. How long have we had holes in the second line? The owners aren't exactly going to hire an idiot. No GM will come in here and decide to blow everything up without analyzing the situation and working with Gilman (If he's still here).
  10. Wow! I don't know if this is a good idea I'm sort of neutral on this
  11. I went to game 2 and they do look really good this year Severson, Bowey, and Cooke are so fun to watch
  12. What exactly are you face palming? The reason it's exciting is because he abandoned the high tempo style we had in 2011 to model after grit and greasy goals. He realizes it was a mistake and now he wants to get back to exciting, fast paced, high flying hockey.
  13. Agree completely, but I think Torts is the first to go if he doesn't change his style (although I think he will). It clearly doesn't work with the personnel we have on this team, and frankly I want us to play high tempo hockey, it's way more exciting than sharp angle shots, greasy goals, etc.
  14. This is music to my ears! I love that Gillis wants to go back to the style of hockey that made this team successful in the first place. Respect earned!
  15. On the plus side Minny isn't doing so well
  16. Not sure how I feel about this, I hope he's actually healthy
  17. Good points, I agree that we keep him because he does have a plan in motion and it will become more apparent next season imo
  18. Exactly, this isn't the year anymore, MG could have turned it around be it looks like he's looking to retool slowly. Funny isn't it? We go on a losing stretch after losing Santorelli and don't start making another run for a playoff spot until Jensen joined the lineup. This proves we NEED to change the roster, this has been our problem for years, too many of the same guys with no new "help". Getting someone in the top 5 would help this club tremendously next season.
  19. I think it's because he is a prospect we can afford to give up to sweeten a deal, but I agree, I think he will be a VERY valuable, promising shutdown third line center. Now all we need is a promising First line center like Bennett and the future is set down the middle. Bennett Horvat Guance Could you imagine
  20. He's just asking a question man chill out
  21. Man oh man I'm impressed!
  22. 1 goal, -2 for Horvat tonight 1 assist, +1 for Domi tonight ...Controversy...
