  1. I miss 50pt Burrows, I think he was always our spark plug We need to accept the season is over and pick as high as we can in this years draft. If we can get in the top 5 and inject prospects and UFA's next year, we have a competitive team again. Edit: Oh and as for a prediction, I'm gonna say we lose haha
  2. Man if we can hit that top 5, I will be so happy! Just keep losing till we can draft Bennet Seriously how beneficial would he be for us next year? VERY He's 18 and is putting up almost 2 points a game on average and is good defensively. That's a future franchise center right there
  3. I agree It's unfortunate but I honestly can't see Luongo wanting to stay here after this. Not just because of not getting the start and getting a sense of the backup role again, but I think this is just the final poke he will take. I can't remember who mentioned it on CBC but I totally agree. Luongo is a push over, he's too nice. Why? Because he's a team guy and is willing to take the fall or take the crapty end of the stick for his team. But you know what, this has gone too far. People argue he should just suck it up because Lack is the hotter goaltender right now, and even though that may be true, Luongo IS the starter and did deserve to play that game. Feeling trust and respect from his boss can be enough to make Luongo want to stay here and want to go to battle for management. I can't believe it but this is starting to become the same crap again that happened with Schneider. Luongo should always be considered the starter this season (especially since he was told by Gillis that he was at the start of the season), and if he has a bad game, THEN you give Lack one or two to get Luongo motivated, but the primary intention should always be to put Luongo in net. It sucks, but I just can't see him wanting to be here after this season. Sorry Luo, I hope you hoist the cup one day! You deserve it.
  4. Look buddy, I'm not sure why you're attacking my opinion but it's just as valid as yours and certainly not "crap".
  5. Why do people say he doesn't want to play here? I've never heard him say anything like that. Sure he could always opt out at the end of the season, and maybe Gillis is trying to trade him, who knows. But overall what I'm trying to say is Luo is our starter and this is BS if Gillis is going to start this crap again. People need to remember this is Lacks first season and just because he's playing good as a backup, it means nothing in comparison to being a starter. I don't think it's dumb to trade Lack, in fact if he's going to fetch a decent return then that's a smart move. Gillis already stated he's not going to approach anyone and ask them to waive their NTC's, so it only makes sense that he would try to move Lack if the right deal is there. All in all, Gillis better have made up his mind as to what he's going to do, because Luongo should not be disrespected like this.
  6. No kidding. He better be injured otherwise this is just one more bitch slap to the goaltender that has done everything for this organization. I'm thinking Lack is being showcased. A team is very interested in him and Gillis wants to show them what he can do. Gillis probably doesn't care about what game it is or what Luongo's feelings are, he wants to make a big move and keep his job.
  7. Nice post! IMO all of the Canucks had a strong Olympics and were noticeable among others.
  8. The only player I'm worried about is Daniel. He was beasting the last two games and up until he gave the puck away to Kunitz.
  9. It definitely would have been much closer. Just the fact Sweden made it to the final without Zetterberg or Henrik Sedin indicates that.
  10. I didn't watch the game, how did Kesler play overall?
  11. CBC listed it at 3am on their preview, but I sure as hell hope it's on at 4 haha
  12. Stoked for this one! 4-3 OT Canada Carter, Weber, Bergeron, Toews with the golden goal D. Sedin with the hat-trick
  13. I think the states will win, they got more guys clicking than Canada
  14. ^This, I don't know what everyone is expecting him to say, everyone's just whining because your team isn't performing up to your standards. People keep saying the window's closed because they're playing like crap right now, but they looked very very good at the beginning of the season and December was brilliant. I think people like to forget the good when the bad is currently looming. I believe in Gillis all the way.
  15. Daniel is still so very disappointing, he used to be my favorite Canuck Also felt so bad for Luo, he deserved that one! Hopefully this break will get our guys ready to go.
  16. Exactly. What happened to the solid system at the beginning of the season where 2 - 3 players were in on the fore-check? It was so aggressive, I loved it! If our players put more pressure on the opposition, they are forced to make split second decisions and are more likely to turn the puck over. If the players don't finish checks, don't play a full 60 minutes skating and grinding, we don't have a chance.
  17. Would Gillis have resigned Weise in the offseason? I doubt it. I think he was never part of the plan moving forward, so why not trade him for someone that very well could workout for the Canucks now and in the future. Montreal fans felt they could have gotten something more for him, so I think he does have some upside.
  18. Haha I guess I could see that from your perspective It's actually quite upbeat and inspiring
  19. This Diaz guy has an impressively decent slapper, I think he's going to fit in quite well here
