  1. With Tanev and Bieksa out it makes sense to acquire another RHD. Weise was never part of the plan moving forward so this trade makes sense.
  2. I'm not opposed to trading for young assets but I'll believe a rebuild when I see it. All I see is a team struggling from injuries and lack of chemistry. I think Gillis is staying with this group but will change a few things around to shape the team into a contender again.
  3. I call BS on this. I think these insiders just listen to what fans are stirring around in Van and throw out "information" to make things interesting. Just my opinion.
  4. No kidding. Rebuild the team? Rebuild your respect for this team. I thought the boys played one hell of a game tonight. The Jets are playing very well right now, it was two good teams competing and unfortunately we were the ones that fell short. Unfortunate but considering the injuries we have on this team, I'm impressed. I think the boys definitely took a step in the right direction tonight. - I think Hamhuis really needs to keep things simple, every time he tries to do too much he turns the puck over and is caught behind the play. When he is playing simple, he makes impressive defensive plays. - I liked Daniels game tonight, I think he's on his way to getting out of this slump. - Kesler stepped up tonight, great to see! - I like Edler's play tonight as well. - Lack was unreal! - Not one of Burrs better games but I believe if he keeps things up he'll get one soon. Also, I'm getting a feeling a trade is coming soon. Too many are injured and we're losing some crucial games due to lack of depth.
  5. Here maybe this will cheer a few up. 2011 – 35 - 11 – 9 2012 – 34 – 15 – 6 2013 – Didn't reach 55 games 2014 – 27 – 19 – 9 Yes this season isn't completely up to par, but keep in mind we've been in a slump, our top players aren't scoring right now, two of our top 6 are gone, and this team is adjusting to a new coaching staff. People may see otherwise but I see positives out of this.
  6. Gillis is on his last thread in Vancouver, he's not going to rebuild the team. Can you imagine him asking the Twins to wave their NTC's, as well as Burrows, Higgins, Kesler, Bieksa. All after signing reasonable contracts and having a sense of security. He'd be out of here so quickly and would be forever dubbed as the GM who ruined this team. There will be no shake up, this core is here till the end (hence NTC's) and they CAN get it done, we've witnessed it in 2011. Fans like to freak out during slumps and I can understand the frustration but I definitely cannot understand throwing in the towel like that. Like I said before, the addition of off season signings and effective youth CAN put us in position to compete again. Patience, it's a process. Remember?
  7. I disagree, I think that would be a huge mistake. Think about it, this team (when healthy and on their game) are very close to being contenders. The problem is we are missing a few pieces that put us over the edge. We are missing Ehrhoff, Salo, Samuelson, and Torres; all of which played big roles on this team and have not been replaced yet. We have most of the pieces but holes still need to be filled. Gillis said how important ELC's are to being a contender and look what he did. Next year we will most likely have Horvat and Shinkaruk on this team, both of which will be effective (Maybe even Guance, Fox, Cassels, etc. aswell). We also have the opportunity to sign 1 or more effective players in the off season. This year isn't the year, that's what we need to accept. All we can do is hope for the best but we most likely will not go very far unless Gillis pulls off something amazing. Our new window will be in the next 3, IMO that's what Gillis is aiming for.
  8. I kind of like it. It's hard to support a team that doesn't play a full 60 minutes. Maybe it will spark them? ...
  9. Why not? It's accurate. I think the concussion took a toll on him but I don't think he's braindead because of it.
  10. This is great! I missed Stanton Sedin - Kesler - Burrows Higgins - Richardson - Kassian Booth - Shroeder - Hansen Sestito - Dalpe - Weise Hamhuis - Bieksa Edler - Garrison Stanton - Tanev Weber
  11. He would be a huge asset to the team for energy, physicality and leadership. Horvat is also comparable to him so he would be a great template for his development. He's been on pace to put up 70 points a season AND he's only 23... I'd say you're the delusional one.
  12. This is ridiculous, we had such a good start and now NO ONE cares to compete anymore?!! So frustrating watching this and so disappointing watching our powerplay opportunities go to waste. Stop cycling the ???? puck! Take notes from Anaheim, they make 2-3 quick passes and shoot. When we keep cycling it like that, teams can intercept the puck so easy and we lose valuable seconds...
  13. Statsny or O'Reilly Make complete sense for us moving forward. Definitely would be willing to give up any of our D-mens
  14. I'm hoping everyone comes out flying tonight - I liked the PP lineup last night, but it needs to be simplified so more shots can be thrown on net - The Sedins need to stop cycling the puck their entire shift. They're becoming so ineffective because they're so easy to shutdown. - I'm liking our defense (considering injuries)
  15. Very disappointing Too many players trying to get it done solo Bronze here we come!
