  1. He is surprisingly mobile for his size. I'm excited to see what he can do!
  2. There's still no reason he can't play in the NHL, I guess NYR are done with him.
  3. I would say they're going for OEL and signing Marky + Tanev. Toffoli odd one out, unfortunately.
  4. OEL would be so solid for us, but that contract is tough. I'm okay with sending them a good asset as long as they retain some salary.
  5. Yes. No GM is perfect but he's done a great job considering he started with an aging team and a non-existent prospect pool.
  6. Trump is going to absolutely slaughter Biden. This is going to be so fun to watch.
  7. I get Price and Weber are signed indefinitely, but you should aim to rebuild. Maybe we can take advantage? Flash SALE: ---> Eriksson, Roussel, Beagle, Sutter <--- They can definitely help you win now
  8. Okay so Tampa is quite cap-strapped and we are in a position to capitalize.

They have 5mil in cap space to sign a combination of whatever 5 RFA's and 5 UFA's they want to keep.

These RFA's include Stephens, Cirelli, Verhaeghe, Cernak, and Sergachev.

Some of those players are worth the picks.

    Shall we offer-sheet?

      1) You have to give an attractive enough offer for that other player to sign (else all you do is end up making an enemy and can except an offer sheet from the Bolts in retaliation when might least expect it).

      2)  We don't exactly have a ton of cap space either  (it's like going 'all in' a poker hand when you only have $100 left).

Something's gotta give for this cap space. They're gonna have to allow some emergency cap space for teams though. There's only a few teams that do have this cap space, but otherwise, this tight cap space will affect all the competitive teams.

Canucks don't have tons of cap room either.

  9. I'm sure many teams want Tanev, but we'll sign him. He wants to stay here IMO and it will be a fair contract.
  10. Disappointing but you can't say Makar doesn't deserve it.
  11. Hmm. Ekblad? I remember Benning wanted to draft him if we won the lottery that year. Idk though, he's going to cost a big piece. Do we really want to trade away a core piece? There's a certain ex-Blues defender we could acquire for free next month. Just saying.
  12. Thank you everyone for voting. I was simply curious about what others thought of the MSM at this time. Perhaps I should have been more clear with what I meant by "Mainstream Media" Simply put, the big news outlets we all trust or trusted at some point in time. CNN, MSNBC, CBS, Fox, ABC, New York Times, etc. The results are interesting to me so once again, thank you for voting
  13. I think its fair to say at this point, that the MSM has done some questionable things over the last few years. I have my own view on the subject, but I'd like to see what everyone else thinks.
  14. If we can dump Eriksson, Sutter, Beagle, Roussel, and Baertschi, we can sign Tanev, Toffoli, Markstrom and Pietrangelo. Just saying lol.
  15. I think management stepped in when he was running everyone over and told him to stop. If that's the case, then yes he was terribly mismanaged. You need to teach him how to use his tool set effectively.
  16. I remember him playing all around the lineup, but there was a stretch where he was playing consistently in the top 6. The entire team was playing terrible at the time. We were trending out of the playoffs.
  17. Good interview. We definitely need to move out some contracts this offseason.
  18. He just had a career year and before the covid shutdown, he was playing in the top 6 consistently. Seems silly to me to give up on him so early because we lost in a game 7 to the best team in the league. I think many fans are making emotional decisions right now. Jake has a good contract and he was definitely NOT the problem with our playoff exit.
  19. Personally, I think it would be a HUGE mistake to give up on him this early. Benning expected more from Jake, so did I and every fan, but you know who else I expected more from? Our overpaid veterans that were supposed to be leading this team. He had himself a breakout year and was on pace for 40+ points prior to the covid lockdown. Right now, he's worth his contract. I can't say that about many players on this team. Tell Jake to train with the Sedin's this offseason and come back in the best shape of your life.
