  1. By a country mile. The QMJHL boxscore is the best by far. Not only are they fast, they have tons of great stats too.
  2. 8-3 Hitmen victory in their Teddy Bear Toss game. Virtanen with (probably) 2 points: 2 goals. One a deke and one a slapper on the PP. Update: Named the third star of the game
  3. EDIT: Nooo, why did they remove the Hitmen Christmas video!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKsLNaahu1I Yep, I was planning to do it regardless because it was the Teddy Bear Toss. Virtanen (and the Hitmen) with a great game is a bonus!
  4. Thanks! I'll keep doing them as long as people enjoy them. All I want in return is that I get to choose which games to watch because I'm not going to do every game, haha. Update: 6-3 Hitmen lead. Helgeson with his second goal of the night, this one on the PP. Update: 7-3 Hitmen. Loch Morrison with his second goal of the season. Rout is on in Calgary. Update: 8-3 Hitmen. Tambellini with a goal. Rout continues. 3 goals (5 unanswered) in 1:21!
  5. Virtanen with a PP goal. Has (at least) two points tonight. 2 goals!
  6. The Canucks game? I'm paused at the opening puck drop of the first. I had some stuff to get done and when I came back I was like "Ah, whatever. I'll watch the game a little later."
  7. I'm not watching the game (by the way) but will probably do another shift-compilation video later. I need to catch up on the Canucks game, which I have paused at the opening puckdrop, and obviously watch the Hitmen game, so it probably won't be uploaded till tomorrow, sorry.
  8. For what it's worth: Brad Curle @BCurle_Hitmen Hockey Canada take note! Jake Virtanen with a sensational goal to give @WHLHitmen a 2-1 lead over MJ midway through the first period. #wow ...But that is from the play-by-play guy for the Hitmen... Who is, of course, a pretty big Hitmen-homer. :- ) Update: 4-3 Hitmen on the PP. Lang with the goal.
  9. Virtanen has scored to make it 2-1 for the Hitmen. Update: Now tied at 2. Update: Now 3-2 for the Warriors. Update: 3-3 tie. The scorers (Fazleev, Virtanen, Helgeson) play on the second line. Or at least they did the last game. So I'm curious to see if Virtanen has any assists but the FREAKIN' WHL BOXSCORE has not updated once!
  10. Yep, for tonight, thanks.
  11. What's the statline for 'ole Pizza Hutt? I'm sorry. I am so sorry...
  12. Matthias though...

  13. Hopefully, yes! I plan to do this sort of thing with other prospects in the future, though it will be limited to the CHL prospects. The thing is, I'm buying the archived games legitimately from WHL Live (it's about $4 for archives) so I can't go crazy. Still, $4 for a game that you know isn't going to be an absolute snoozfest is pretty nice. I'm planning on doing the same kind of video for McCann's last game vs. London. Then hopefully a Cassels game later on.
  14. Here's the thing: this isn't a highlight pack. Literally, from the first goal onwards I made it a conscious effort to record every single shift. If it looks like a highlight package then that's awesome! :- )
  15. Sorry about the frame rate. Here are most of Virtanen's shifts from the 6-2 win over the Oil Kings yesterday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exuRXFlwaCU PS: Travis Sanheim is one heck of a player. He is so good in every zone. His ability to keep the puck alive at the offensive zone blueline is incredibly impressive. When I watched this game, I hardly noticed him in his own end despite him being the number 1 defenseman. That's how smoothly he gets stuff done back there. It's the opposite in the o-zone when he is seemingly involved in every offensive play when he's on the ice. He looks so calm out there. Philly got a good one.
  16. Finished watching a couple minutes ago. Recorded nearly all of Virtanen's shifts and I plan to compile them into a video. I got the idea to do that midway through the first so there's nothing from early in the game. He got into it (sort of) but there wasn't anything major that was missed aside from that and a powerplay that did nothing. I'll put this in the beginning of the video, but there are some clips that skip a few seconds. This is exactly how it is in the archive so there is nothing I can do about the "lost" footage. Luckily the play wasn't disrupted often. Here was the lineup for the Hitmen in this game: Rankin-Tambellini-Lang Helgeson-Fazleev-Virtanen Peterson-Karnaukhov-Stallard Sanheim*-Draude-Malenstyn *twin brother of Travis Sanheim So even with Helgeson back the original top line of Helgeson-Tambellini-Virtanen wasn't reunited. Makes sense though because that Rankin-Tamb.-Lang line absolutely exploded for offense last game. Unfortunately, this means that Virtanen is stuck on the second line again. It's also now clear that he is playing as a RW this season. As for special teams, Virtanen no longer plays on the penalty kill but, obviously, gets first unit powerplay time.
  17. Just bought the archive for the game tonight. Sounded like the Hitmen played really well in this one so I'm looking forward to seeing exactly how Virtanen did.
  18. Virtanen with 2 assists, +1, 2PIM as the Hitmen rout the Oil Kings 6-2. A very chippy game and Virtanen was involved. He was chirping at someone at the final buzzer. On the year: 19GP 7g 14a 21pts +5 34PIM Update: He was named the 2nd star. Play-by-play guy said he was dangerous around the net tonight. Colour guy said he ran guys over and skated hard tonight.
  19. Virtanen with two assists (PP and EV) as the Hitmen lead the Oil Kings 3-0 in the second.
  20. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6qnSK56swc Oof. Rookie takes a big hit. Hit looked high at first but it looks like (0:38) Comeau gets his right glove on Bo's chest, moves up, and sort of grazes the side of Horvat's face as he pushes.
  21. Packaged with a 2nd round pick for another team's blue chip prospect. What happened to Hansen?
  22. The execution may not be great but at least he's trying to put the puck into good spots for his teammates. He had a pass that Sanheim had to reach a little for, and one that hit the skate of Sanheim (who did a good job of kicking it up to his skate to make a pass), but there was nothing egregious. There was also the attempted breakaway pass for Tambeliini but those are tough to connect as is. He also made a couple heads up plays to try and set up back door plays.
  23. 9-5 Hitmen victory over the Rebels. Not a great night for the goalies. Virtanen finished +1 with 6 PIMs. 2 - CAL J. Virtanen, 0:39 - Slashing, 2 min (PP) 2 - CAL J. Virtanen, 8:50 - Holding Opp. Stick, 2 min (PP) 3 - CAL J. Virtanen, 18:44 - Boarding, 2 min
