  1. Still got a pick in the 2nd. I don't mind us taking the best goalie prospect available here.
  2. Congrats to Jake (and his family!) on being drafted to the Canucks! All the best! 1) What are the lottery numbers? 2) You sit at their draft meetings do you?
  3. Terrible pick? Bust? Hell, give me the lottery numbers while you guys are at it.
  4. I remember hearing about Kassian and Gulutzan having a good relationship somewhere too. I can't remember where... It was probably Dan Murphy or one of the scribes mentioning it in an article. Are you implying having 4 suits behind the bench? I can't recall ever seeing that before. Plus, with all the money ownership owes former employees I'd doubt they let another guy grab a paycheque if it wasn't absolutely necessary.
  5. Someone has probably replied to this already but... No thanks! Reinhart/Ekblad are terrific players but we shouldn't give up the 6th (also going to be a good player), Tanev (excellent PKer and 2nd pair-defenseman), and Gaunce (projects to be a solid 3rd line centre, potential PKer) just for this year's top pick. EDIT: Okay, I didn't see the part where Florida adds a pick/b-prospect. I still don't like the trade though, anyways...
  6. How exactly does a message board poster's "gut feeling" leave anyone with any sense of suspense?
  7. Quick question, does this make Sam Reinhart eligible? He's technically played in 4 seasons (10-11, 11-12, 12-13, 13-14) but only 4 games in the 10-11 season. Is there a number of games needed to be considered a season?
  8. What do you mean by "as of right now"? What could possibly change your mind to make you support him?
  9. Not sure how much stock you can put into a list compiled by a single analyst.
  10. I'd love for us to pick Reinhart but have no clue how a reasonable trade could be facilitated to have this go down. If it happens though (and you'd expect a significant piece going the other way) it would really feel like a new era has begun for this franchise. I can't wait for the draft!
  11. On desktop I'd put the effort into spelling out their names but I'm on mobile and will take shortcuts if I can.
  12. Just heard a replay of his radio interview with Bmac and Taylor on the TEAM1040. He's actually a pretty engaging guy and had quite a bit to say.
  13. True. When the likes of Schroeder and Dalpe skate in your bottom-6... Yeah, we need to get bigger. Sorry for the triple-post by the way. I'm on the Canucks mobile app right now.
  14. I think it's more out of respect for Benning by the rest of the Bruins. Also, Linden supposedly reached out to Neely soon after being hired so you'd expect there to be a mutual respect there as well. Regardless, it was nice of them to let him join us as soon as they did. We could use someone of his talents at the draft.
  15. Yeah, JV would be my first pick over NR but I wonder how much JV's shoulder injury sets him back (as far as his career and draft positioning go). If the team is still really high on JV, I'd say pick him.
  16. He did mention we need to get bigger too. I got the impression we'd be picking Ritchie actually.
  17. Not sure how fair that is. The ratio of Canadians vs Non-Canadians (EDIT: Total players in the league) has changed a lot in that time.
  18. I don't see how that's relevant in the context of buying someone out.
  19. I'm a little surprised Weise didn't just keep it in the handshake line. His team did get to move on after all. Then I remember that it's Dale Weise. I think Lucic did in his post-game scrum actually. He was asked about it and called out Weise for being a baby for bringing it up... or something. Speculating here on what wasn't said but there was no denial from Lucic himself. It's a matter of respect when it comes down to it, and Lucic clearly has none for his opponents here. Players don't have to like everyone else (in fact, that would suck) but the least they could have is a little respect.
  20. Barring a miracle, we've got the 6th overall pick right? A top-5 would have been amazing but we can at least hope one of the top-5 kids (Bennett, Reinhart, Ekblad, Draisaitl, Dal Colle) drops a spot. Nice to go out with a solid win and still secure a pick as high as #6.
  21. Off topic... but the London Knights used their final selection in the OHL draft today to pick Cal Horvat (Bo's brother!).
