  1. Ehlers-Getzlaf-Perry Sleep Well opposing coaches/netminders
  2. well we got this guy named Henrik.....pretty good at dishing off the puck
  3. Lemieux wont make it past Colorado and Demko will go in the 1st round for sure I see Hunter Smith sure jumped up a few pegs as well
  4. oh trust me....getting CDC to 100% agree and back someone never works. There will always be a sect that will always find a way to rip a new one into them. But as soon as that player scores 2 goals those same ppl plan the parade route
  5. how bout the happy medium sized guy in Virtanen? Wheels of steel? drops the gloves? Defensively aware? Loves to shoot the puck? Heaven knows we need guys that love to shoot. And this man amongst boys theory....he IS still the boy. And you think that all of the skills that Ritchie is showing in that Youtube highlight vid....he wont carry those on? Just gonna show up to camp and all his skills just evaporate? Ya he might not hit his stride until he is 21-22 but he will turn into something special
  6. Detroit model, Boston Model Why doesnt anyone follow the Chicago model? Seabrook-Keith those were the first 2....they been paired for 7+ years now and both in their first year.
  7. How Button nuts has a job at TSN is beyond me. The fact he ranked Virtanen in the 2nd round all year then BAMM flip flops to pair him to go 6th. Yikes.... I trust 2 scouting services....ISS and CS. I would still trust an actual scout from any team over all of them but we dont get to see many names put to team scouts. Bobby Mac refers to...."Of the 12 scouts I talked to....." Like WHO are they? Reading a few comments on not drafting PWFs such as Ritchie or Virtanen assuming they all get paired on the same line. What if they are balanced out Shinkaruk Horvat Kassian Ritchie Cassels Jensen Size-2way--skill 2 balanced lines.....on paper anyway
  8. King baby....I swear I read it. Not sure if it was Botch or Gallagher but surely someone on CDC here seen it as well. Im not one to post something taken out of my rear. Im diggin now thats for sure
  9. season ticket holders like us would all spirt wood if those players were all shipped out for high draft picks such as Ritchie Virtanen Cornel Demko Lemieux and prospects such as Etem Us ticket holders and fans have been through worse. THAT package above gives us hope and exxcitement for the future. With shipping out Edler Kesler Hansen and most others we still have a decent core and can sign gap filler players until our high picks develop. Us fans can handle a year or 2 of sucking lemons as ling as it gives us yet another high pick and it is properly utilized My 2 cents.....
  10. I was thinking the exact same thing and great point. I would like to see us keep our 6th and draft Virtanen or whoever. If we get the 10th from Anaheim then package that for Kane. Again...to me Kesler is already gone. If rumours were true that it was the dressing room that took his A away then that speaks volumes. Having a freshened, united room is alot better that a room with an elephant in it and I dont care WHAT skills he has. Im willing to bet my bottom dollar that when Kane gets here, we see a re-invigorated and inspired player giving his all. We can use his speed, hitting, youthfulness and overall excitement. Ive stated this before..... If we walk away from the draft with Ritchie/Virtanen AND Kane....Im a very excited fan
  11. BINGO!!! I been saying this for a while now but fir the last month and Im sure up until the draft I have to sift through 5 pages of nit-pick and nickle n diming of players attitudes and so many arm chair scouting. I get thrilled when I do find a comment that has substance and something to offer or a true source backed fact about a player. My personal preferance has swayed back and forth from Virtanen to Ritchie and from Ritchie to Virtanen. To me, thise are the guys we need if we are to compete with the teams in our division.
  12. dont forget Whiskey Bob who takes up residence at the end of the bar and Toothless Tom who never misses a Keno game Listen....Virtanen is a good 17 yr old kid who not already spends days and hours donating his time to charitable causes but will donate the same if not more amount of time to the local charities of which ever team selects him. dont slag a guys character just to use it as a reason to not draft him. Not this guy anyway
  13. the grapevine huh.....and who comprises of your grapevine? This is the first report of attitude problems. Whats next....screeches his tires? Returns library books late?
  14. Just as happy to get Virtanen....if he is gone....take Ritchie Future line of: Shinkaruk-Horvat-Virtanen
  15. Daly winks at Shanny as the balls are being selected lol
  16. you make a great po8nt but you dont gamble with a high pick. Take the safe pick ya the high end flashy guy comes flyin out of the gate and all of a sudden hindsight starts settin in. Then highend flashy guy gets a shoulder or knee injury.... not so flashy anymore. Mean while the safe pick is still pluggin away
  17. no way am I getting snippy and hopefully Carolina selects Son Of Sam. That way we only have to face him twice a year. We selected a big body that will keep up to the other big bodied teams in our division In respect to the above scout, its like anything you ask 5 fallers how to cut down a tree, you get 5 different answers ask 5 mechanics how to change a tire.... same goes with scouting.....agree?
  18. TOML hit the nail on the head and Thad accidently bscked it with his theory about a balanced line Shink-Horvat-Virtanen you ppl honestly dont see the balance of that line? Hunter with greasy speed and dangle abilities. Bo with 2way abilities to win faceoffs and pop in goals whenever and wherever Jake also with greasy speed and ability to skate the puck into the zone and has tools to dangle and shoot or pass it off. BANG!!!!...Hunter with the juicy rebound!!!! Crowd goes nuts
  19. ok... Virtanen is around +25 in his 2 seasons..... how many ft does that get him?
  20. Based on what? Im not denying Kapanens talents but after watching vids of how Ritchie and Virtanen are skating thru their oppnents while taking the puck to the net....how can you not call them safe picks. Every scouting agency call Virtanen as the best skater. Watching Virtanen do the said above things makes me confident that I never have to watch Hansen attempt that again
  21. Hall was a great pick. If Hall wouldve been picked by Boston, he would have alot better success. Same with RNH. The problems with Hall and RNH is that they were both plunked onto the top lines without and great support. Because of that they were facing top defensive pairings and crushed on a nightly basis. Plunk Hall on a line with Bergeron and Marchand with Chara/Boychuk on backend....and now we can see what Hall can do.
  22. All of the disecting and over analysiseseses of Ehlers and Kapanen then ISS STILL has them both listed outside top 10. Virtanen is STILL ranked ahead of them. Assuming Dal Colle and usual top 4 are gone....my wishlist is STILL Virtanen Ritchie Tuch 3 dudes that can skate, hit, score. We talk about how we need offence....well duhhhh.....these cats have proven they can do that. If we can trade Kesler and get Otts pick from Anaheim....9/10...hopefully Ehlers, Tuch, Fleury are still available or who knows...package that pick to Wpg for Kane If we walk away from this draft with a pick like Virtanen and a guy who will get us 25-30+ goals....Im going to be satisfied. We still pick 36th and Im positive we find a gem there 66th...see above...or this is where we rely on Swedish secret scout Gradin to unearth a hidden gem ala Cederholm
  23. as painful ad it sounds....other than give Hunter and Bo their 9 games..... the rest you listed was the right thing to do the thinking for Bo was that he would go back to junior, win gold at WJC, enjoy memorial cup and enjoy success and avoid the gong show that this season was about to turn into. Kassian has FINALLY started to come into his own. Jensen and Corrado NEEDED TO full year in Utica to play top minutes and develope. They're probably thankful for it too
  24. Jovo has sucked eggs too but Ohlund and Jovo are part of a core from 10 yrs ago. They were warriors in their time but players age and the team has to evolve. We as fans all know this. Its hard to let go but aging core guys like Kes, Burrows, Bieksa...even Sedins need to eventually be replaced.
