2017 NHL Draft - Chicago, Illinois June 23-24 2017

Well ....ya.....but .....I think Patrick will be gone by #4. If so then that a sign we need to watch for and wonder why the drop and what people know that we don't. Therefore I'm still happy with the names I've listed. Ya there's tons of argument made for any of the prospects but those names Im sure we can all agree to be happy with -

I don't get how a guy loses so much with mono. I got it and ya it was the worst week of my teenage life but week n a half later I was in tip-top shape and back in the gym. Is there different mono's? -

I'm sorry but I don't see how rating a guy with constant hernia problems the past 2 years and only played a handful of games is still rated 1st overall. Hopefully he gets his hernia problems taken care of once n for all -

Tbh...I wouldn't just for the fact that Reinhart hasn't really blown me away yet in terms of being "The Man" yet from being picked 2nd overall 3 years ago. For example....when other 2nd overall guy Eichel went down, I didn't see alot of Buffalo fans saying "thank god Reinhart is there". Or its not like he has noticeably taken control of the team yet as his. His speed doesn't wow me either. IMO, I think the prospect of selecting a Liljegren, Hague, Foote, or either of the top forwards gets me more excited than having Reinhart -
Yes and no. It worked for Bo but not Virtanen or McCann

Thank God for the lock-out in 2005 so guys like Kesler, Burrows, Edler, Bieksa, Rypien, Hansen could all spend that entire year in Manitoba. Worked like a charm. When AV came to Canucks he kept Kesler/Cooke/Burrows on the 3rd lines for 2 years to build that chemistry, learn defensive side of the puck. That too worked like a charm as they were a hated but effective young line that was capable of stripping loose pucks and burying them while completely pi $$ing off the other team It works for some better than others to learn in minors or the 4th line. Take Horvat and Virtanen for the latest examples Horvat started on the 4th line and WD kept him shackled there no matter how badly Horvat wanted to bust thru his glass ceiling. Not once did he complain or whine about ice-time. In those 10 mins per game he learned how to take face-offs, defensive side of the game and basically the acolades of being in the big and it's worked out perfectly. Virtanen had been put in a similar situation and it didn't turn out with the same results as Bo. Imagine if it did? Anymore comparisons you like to throw out?

Ok so with that win last nite and our current streak, maybe we are now to far for Liljegren but Cal Foote will do just as good. -

Watching CBJ play convinces me that Liljegren has to be our focus That team is built from the backend with good speedy wingers that aren't sissies that just LOVE to fire the puck at will. They don't have typical big centers but they have 2 Swedes with a ton of skill and creativity that get their wingers the puck, but it all starts on the backend. Jones Werenski Murray Are 3 young D that are gonna be sick in another 2 years. That's what has me salivating on having Juolevi Liljegren Dahlen And suck one more year to draft Dahlen and we should be able to accomplish that if management insists on keeping this old core together. Maybe that's their goal? Add those guys along with Stecher Hutton Tryamkin And our D should be freakin awesome for the next 10 years. -

True but I would rather have a loaded D Corp. Besides we got Boeser, Virtanen, Horvat developing slightly better each year, a few young College bucks plus whatever else we select at this year's draft. We will get there....slowly and painfully we will get there Juolevi Liljegren Dahlen Are a nice cornerstone worth having -

Not to mention dudes like Tolvanen, Vesalainan, Strom, and solid D prospects such as Liljgren, Foote and Hague Picks 1 thru to 10 look solid and each carry their own arguement. -

Depending how far Brock goes in Frozen 4, if he signs he should be able to suit up for a few games in Utica

Well that Dave Hackstal guy in Philly isn't doing too bad of a job. Personally I don't think it matters where the coach comes from as long as he can get total buy in from the players. Andy Murray is going a heck of a job for Western Michigan University as well

If WD somehow gets canned this year, can there be a case into hiring Brad Berry along with Dane Jackson? Both have past connections to the team. Jackson has done a wonderful job in teaching the defensive side of hockey much like what Jarvis is doing. UND has had the best PK in their conference for many years and one could make a case that it's one of the best in all NCAA. Berry reminds me alot of Vigniault in that both were mediocre D but student of the game and teach a flawless brand. Berry did a bang up job teaching a young Edler during his days as assistant coach for The Moose and I believe went to the AHL finals that year with Schneider in net. Just sayin.....those would be my choices. I'm sure Boeser and Stecher would concur too

I see a huge breakout year and a serious ranking climb on the horizon for Foote He could be that Madison Bowey type all of us on here dream about having in our prospect pool on the backend. Perhaps even better than Bowey. 3 assists and +3 in Foote's Rockets home opener Hutton Tanev Juolevi Foote Tryamkin Gudbranson -
Oh rats....thanks dudes. Looking forward to see what he does on a better team. Also seeing him adjust to his 6'3" and 10-15 of added muscle.
