  1. Sorry, but am I missing something here? A lot of trade proposals involving Hamonic, but I thought he didn't want to play anywhere but out west? Also, while Boeser for Kapanen + sounds great, we surely would need a RHD in return in any Boeser trade? He's probably our best trade chip if they keep Miller?
  2. Cheers JD... Yes well said and that is about how it will be played out, if they decide to keep Miller. Brock will definitely be in play as his next contract will likely be costly, and we may end up losing him for nowt, so I expect him to be shopped already... Garland, maybe, as his cap is not bad and locked for another 4 years, but if we want to sign high value contracts (Miller) and flexibility we got to find money somewhere... Pearson I doubt will be in play this season with his NTC... I believe its modified next year, but his contract is up in 2 years anyway, so I will almost be surprised if he is the one leaving... Dickinson will probably be gone if they can find a taker... Yes Woo could be a Schenn replacement with a bit of luck, and that would be just fine... Schenn plays his position brilliantly for his cap hit. Toughness and protection of Hughes... lack of speed is the trade off, for having a cheap d man able to do the other 2 things... Don't know about Myers and him being traded... I'm not sure we'll get much better D-man for his money (or cheaper)... Schmidt showed, that it isn't guaranteed the get any better, just because they shine in other colours... I've said it before, this could/will define Alwyn ability too build a winner... To keep or not to keep Miller... Welcome to Vancouver Alwyn... the knives will be sharpened soon, if this back fires... Picks are great, but will likely be 2-4 years before they will become relevant, so if they want to stock the cupboards with picks, I don't see the reason to keep Miller. You nailed it, saying picks are good, but the main piece in any trades should be players, who are ready to go straight in to the roster and help, + prospects ready to make the jump (or very close)... Rathbone has lots of talent, but has yet to be able to show up on the big stage... just go to show, that despite them showing well in the A, doesn't make them guarantees to succeed... Very very interesting TDL and off season coming up, and probably even more next year... In saying all that, from my seat in front of the telly, I'm enjoying watching the team compete again. Its been a while, but damn it feels good to win some hockey games... .
  3. Yeah thats more likely to be the case. hopefully Woo can make the next step, cause if we're going to pay Miller 10M the next 5 years, serious decisions needs to be made regarding Boeser, and Myers + EP long term... it is doable, but we will definitely have zero flexibility...
  4. agree... lets run with the horses available, and see what we got... then make the decisions afterwards...
  5. What happened to Hamonic? EDIT... saw in next post...cheers VC
  6. Yep... Quinn is an absolute beauty... and signed for another 5 years... fabulous.
  7. His offensive skills were there from day one, but I've been more impressed with, how he's coped and improved on the defensive side of things... Yep he'll own every single D record on the Canucks books at the end of his tenure here...zero doubt about that...
  8. Lamikko, Motte, Schenn....even Highmore. Hamonic once this Covid crap has settled... Lots of good deals... Overall a mixed bag...just like everyone else...
  9. Yep... like everyone else... he did make some tremendous calls as well... Understood all of his Tanev and Toffoli (enough has been said about this), but wish he had shifted JV earlier....
  10. Spot on.... every season start to be nothing but calls made and special teams constantly... slowly dies out through the season... We suck at PK, but this team does really well in general 5 on 5, which should be an advantage come play off time.
  11. True... and only one way to find out... Nobody gave Nucks a chance during the bubble run, and even though they were eventually beaten by Vegas, they almost made it to the conference final, so you never know. Boston beat us in 2011, despite us being huge favourites... Got to buy a ticket to win it, and the only way we know, how the team stacks up against the others in post season games, are by playing post season games... And yes, if they make it, they'll come in hot, which should be a massive advantage.
  12. Don't even understand, why that was such an issue... Team is full of leaders... Way too much emphasis on, who wears the C...
