  1. Burroughs has a very welcome steeliness to his game... Bumps them constantly around the corners...
  2. Yes its hardly a life time he is away... Used to be away 5-6 months at the time. Then changed and got to be away 8 weeks at the time. eventually 5 weeks at the time... This over a period of 28 years. Now I'm home all the time, and just piloting vessels locally... I'm quite sure he'll be fine...
  3. With Bo in Covid protocol maybe it would be good to get a few more postponed?
  4. And that's just it... PS. Maybe we praised him, but this occasion as well as Miller it was warranted...
  5. Pretty much sums Motte up.... But again, he is UFA and who knows, what he will be offered. Last thing we need is for him to say thanks for the memories, and waltz off with Mathilda... Wee need to KNOW FOR SURE, a deal will be made for him to stay... I'm all for holding on to Motte, and agree 100% the he along with Demko and Myers were out star players in the Vegas series by a mile (honorary mention to Horvat).. But we can go overboard with payments at this stage, knowing who needs to be upped over the next few years. He is the catalyst on the 4th line, and its blatantly evident as soon as he is out of the line up, how much he is needed... Again depends on how JR sees it, but if a good prospect becomes available, it may be hard for him to resist... If you want to renew/change the team, you need dancing partners, and it's unlikely Dickinson, Highmore, Dowling, Lammikko etc will provide anything of real interest, which leave the question, who do we trade to get younger, faster and bigger? It won't Hughes, and probably not Petey. And doubt there is much interest in OEL. Hamonic, Poolman, and the bottom D's are not going to fetch much, and while changing them to free cap space, it'll be eaten up by their replacements. So most likely that leaves us with the usual suspects, Miller, Brock, Bo and Garland and Pearson (and his NTC)... Yes will be great if Motte stays, but lets see....
  6. Yeah those were the days.... I remember all the $&!# Benning took that day. Kinda cool, to think how little folks knew compared to the man, they were ready to burn at the stakes....
  7. Well you were not alone on that one though.... Come to think of it King Benning did do some good things after all....
  8. Cheers Goose. 1 yes 2. Big ? 3. Yes of course... and that is the big draw , The report was, there's a lot of interest in Motte. If it is Motte for scraps or late picks, it totally depends on (2), but everyone has a price.... I think. PS. I suck at these things, so what do I know
  9. Shout out to @aGENT, who was one of the few dancing for joy, when Benning acquired him...
  10. Think we all want him in our team Goose, Big question is if we can afford it or does he want to make big bucks... I would also take him over Dickinson every day of the week and twice on Sundays, but Dickinson will not return much compared to Motte, and again are we sure he wants to stay? He is my favourite player, when in the line up, so....
  11. That would be a good return, but probably unlikely for a 4th line player (I know, he could probably play further up the line up and improve the lines).
  12. This is the big call JR has to make now... Do we make Miller the future (he should bring in a lot) or do we roll with what we got... We have big decisions to make, and both Miller and Motte can pack their bags and ride into the sunset, once their deals expire... I am sure Motte will be looking for a decent pay rise, which I think he has earned.
  13. Will be hard... it was a fantastic trade by King Benning..................
  14. He was far better on the wing, but has hands of stone... He is a decent player, but will be forgotten quickly if replaced.
  15. Without Petey playing better, it all becomes irrelevant regardless, so absolutely yes... I've stated that before as well.. I believe, if trades are made, we will be looking more towards good prospects, just about to break through or even just breaking through, more than picks... Have to accept that picks normally takes around 3-4 years, D-men in particular if not more (unless top picks) before they can support the team properly... Yes again exactly... the choice is do we go with what we have (can we afford Miller) or do we slaughter the golden goose, before it get old and dry, and get premium return on it. No doubt Miller will be very attractive, and should be able to fetch a handsome return. Garland is where I think they may consider it, if they want to hold on to Miller... Exactly because of the good deal he is on. We all like his tenacity, but we have to find cap somewhere, if we want to keep Miller. Boeser for me is in the same boat, but more because I'm not sure he follows the plan of a young, fast, strong and big. And he is going to cost... both he and Petey needs to score goals... and neither has been too impressive so far... Lots of things to ponder... Hope they get it right.
  16. Agree on all... that's why there there's an interest... Everyone has a price... and Motte might bring something good back. Think they will be reluctant to let him go, but he is UFA at the end of the season, and god knows, what he is looking for, but don't expect it to be less than what Dickinson gets... I'm probably one of Mottes greatest fans... Used to be Hansen, then it was Dorsett... but understand the reasons...
  17. Not the slightest surprised to hear there's interest in an high engine player like Motte....
  18. Think you are spot on Stawns... been saying this as well... Think they will try to make the team stronger now, and not in 2-4 years.
