  1. When fans are getting perplexed about calls not being made, one can only guess, how the players feels...
  2. Nope.... but still hope he finishes his career in Vancouver. Regardless, Edler will be in the ring of honours, whether he finishes his career with Canucks or somewhere else...
  3. Fantastic player... PS. look at those Sundin numbers... But lets see Petey heat up now...
  4. Anyone have a clue , what's a penalty in this game...asking for a friend
  5. Bravo Tyler.... What a brilliant piece. It doesn't matter what folks say, as there is still a stigma attached to Mental illnesses, and as 'a man' it is very hard to accept. Seeing a top player like Tyler come out and open up about it, make life a little better for a lot of people. Top man.
  6. While a bit odd, now is the time to see if any other line combinations work, as so far its not clicking,... May also be a more sinister move to try and up interest in Jake... but doubt it.
  7. 5-3 Canucks Horvat Over (the bleeding has got to stop eventually....)
  8. To be honest, maybe what they need more than anything after this crazy schedule is rest... They've looked very tired the last few games... probably part of the reason they've thrown leads away time and time again... Will be interesting to see if the rest will have done them good on Monday.
  9. All very true. I don't think anyone expected us being this bad... And I don't think they are, but yes it's hard to see them being a contender in a few years time. Even with a high draft pick, a defender will be 4-5 years away from being a star. However, although league tables don't lie, they don't always tell the entire truth either. Who knows, what's going on in the head of the players during these Corona lock down times... It's all very weird. Look at Miller? a shadow of last years player... Also maybe the amount of games, which have been played may have taken its toll on the young players. It's easier to be a youngster, if you don't have to carry the team on your back. Regardless, my point was not so much, when we will contend, but more the age of the core players. They are still very young, and needs time to mature. If the supporting acts had been better, or played to their potential, I don't think we would have been as bad as this... The addition of Toffoli made a huge difference, so who knows if another few additions could have the same impact. Can I just add that the loss of Motte seems to have far more impact, than anyone could have expected. Just goes to show, how far desire and heart take a team...
  10. Totally agree that the 2011 had as much talent on it. And it had heart as well. But also think it only fair to also state the age of the players at that stage? Most of them were around 30 years of age in 2011 (bar Kesler, who was 26). The core players on this team are still young or fairly young. Would it be wrong to suggest that players like Petey, Quinn and to a certain extend even Brock are still developing as players. Our most experienced core player is Bo at 25 years of age. Miller is 26 I believe and both considered veterans. Pearson is the veteran in the top 6. This season has been shocking, no doubt about it, but a fair few posters here believed our real window would be at least 2-3 years away at the end of last season. I’m thinking of how we all used to laugh at Oilers with all their top picks, and they couldn’t make a team out of it. Even with McD and Draisatl etc... It takes time for young players to settle in the league. And age wise probably longer for the players out of Uni teams. Will players like Hughes be a true no 1? Who knows, offensively no doubt, defensively? ( I wanted Bouchard, but I have very little knowledge about the kids being drafted. I wanted size, with a shot on the backend, and still does), but I think to say, Hughes can’t defend, so he won’t be a no 1, is very premature, however no doubt he could do with a proper defensive side kick. Had money been available, instead of sitting on busses, it could have helped, however the decks will be cleared in 2 years, and at that stage Pettersson, Brock, Bo and Hughes (Maybe Miller) will hopefully be able to lead the team. Think its unfair to set the ceiling for this young core so early in their careers ( either way).
  11. True... But the team can’t buy a win in those jerseys. Bring back the skates jerseys instead. At least they looked awesome...
