Sounds like a great guy going forward. Would definitely fit in to any coach plans.... Me like...

Carlsberg don't do trades...but if they did.... Doubt LA bites, but if they do...

+1...

Can I just say what a wonderful day today is... Never thought I could be happy for another team winning the SC, but watching Bruins get beat in quiet TD Garden come in at a close second.... How poetic they should concede 4 goal at home in game 7 of the finals... Now maybe just maybe they'll know, how the Canucks felt at Rodgers in 2011... Blues first doing the Diving Sharks and the Dirty Bruins... Thank you... Only way this could have been bettered, was if it had been done by the Canucks. To watch the ring kissing rodent with F all but tears is sheer magic.... for everything else there's Master Card...

Not getting involved in discussion, but Please tell me where I sign up.... wouldn’t mind making a few bob saying positive things about Canucks.
-
spot on...problem solved. Give him 7-8/year for 2 years incl NTC if needed, and then speak again in 2 years. Thats should cover what he wold have made on 3 years/NTC
-
Yes but he doesn't want to be traded. He wants to stay and has indicated this... He does not want to leave Vancouver... Decision probably was made before the deadline. If Edler said no then, there was still nothing JB could do.
-
Yeah thanks for saying so Jim, but no thanks... I prefer to play for Vancouver, and if I can't play here, I want to decide myself where I play. Thats the reason I signed a NTC...but thanks for the coffee...
-
Exactly.... why is it, that every time a player signs for less than market value in return for a NTC, the player is being hung out at the end of his contract. It's the club that decides to hand out the NTC's... simples...
-
How??? Wasn't he was asked? Maybe his agent told the club already at that stage, Edler only wanted play for Canucks, and now changed his mind? If he didn't want to be moved you can't move him...especially in the last few months of his contract... What are you gonna do? put a gun to his head? You're venting your anger the wrong place....

[Speculation] Boeser not close to extension

That was exactly my concern as well.... especially with QH, EP, BH +? Also being in the same boat.... Hopefully the cap raise will cover this, otherwise we could end up in the same cap trouble some of the other teams find themselves in. -
[Speculation] Boeser not close to extension

Yes had the discussion with Theo last week as well. I agree, that for the amount of years we can lock him up for, starting with a bridge deal for 2-3 years and then a long term would benefit us time wise, and keep Canucks in control of his prime years My small concern was how much he would cost on his second contract if he continues scoring and becomes an elite goalscorer. Fast or not, elite goal scorers don’t come cheap. But that’s in the future and cap going up etc., so yes... we’ll be better off with a bridge deal first. I suggested earlier that 7,5+ wouldn’t be out of reach for a long term contract... Not far from what was being suggested in ‘the score’ article. -

Cheers very interesting reading.... -
Cheers Surf... interesting thoughts. Definitely like the idea of bridging the gap... Thanks.

Nice answer Surfer, thanks. I still want Dach too,... and maybe you’re right... I was not referring to having players develop in All Svenskan, Liga 1 or German league. However Being able to play in AHL against men. The fact you can put a player into the AHL if he becomes too dominant amongst his fellow juniors and he is physically mature, is surely worth consideration. A player like Jake could maybe have benefited from playing in AHL prior to NHL?
-
I want Dach too....followed by Cozens.. But agree with Stawns that if there is two players more or less even in every department, the advantage of having more control of, In which league he plays and has his development, is massive. Its really unfortunate for the Canadian kids, as I would love to see more local talents on the Canucks roster.

To this day I still don’t understand why Marchand never got destroyed by the team in the following years....Maybe Canucks were on thin Ice because of the Bertuzzi incident, but rat boy should really have been made to pay the price... -
Know this is far from over yet, but this is, why it was good Blues beat Sharks... felt at the time that Blues were the only team left that was tough enough to beat Bruins at their own game... and looks like it so far... Mind you we looked like we had them beat as well, so no counting chickens just yet... Where is Claude Julien, when the Bruins needs him... Can still see this sweaty pig standing there complaining about the Canucks diving, all while his own brigade let by the Rat were diving all over the place... poetic justice...
-
Good point....
-
To be honest, I'm lost... I haven't got a clue which player to go for any longer.... I think if available, I'd like Dach or Cozens simply because, while being good players, they also have some size to inject into our top six. But find it extremely hard to find anyone in the top 15, who wouldn't fit like hard in a glove on our team. As Smithers normally says... Its all clear as mud. Glad I don't have to make the selection anywhere from 4-15.... so much potential... even throughout the first round. PS should be possible to catch a decent player in the second round as well.
-
It would probably be other of two options. Take back a stinker of a contract from some team in cap hell together with a pick or B prospect for their first.
-
A few months ago I read someone comparing him to the rat... without the tongue. Very competitive with skills and some nastiness... have to admit, while The Rat still is poster boy on my dart board, I wouldn’t mind someone like that in our team... Being it on.
