  1. Good win, decent performance, and a great showing by the away fans...again... Manchester IS RED
  2. yes it was very poor, however a win over Liverpool is always nice, and to see Phil Jones, Carrick and Rojo celebrating amongst the away supporters was just worth it all
  3. They'll launch an appeal and be able to do business during summer, just like Barca... Unfortunately, as it'll mean they can snatch De Gea...
  4. Really poor game yesterday, and it was back to the slow unimaginative football that has almost become a trademark under LVG... Need to change the style of football being played. Don't know how many crosses was wasted... the system suck...
  5. Would probably class Messi as a striker only, but yes it becomes quite blurred with the modern footballers wingers/forwards...
  6. Ryan Giggs.... Lefty as well... Robben plays on the right...as far as I remember. Stoickov and Michael Laudrup great wingers. But the best of the lot is Ronaldo...
  7. Totally agree with regards to Little Pea... Never understood the urge to get rid of him, with no back up plan... And he was not complaining about being a squad player... big mistake.
  8. If you could get Bale, the winger would be covered big time. De Pay needs more time to settle, and Rooney will only play so many games now, so a main striker is definitely needed, as despite Martials huge potential, it would be unfair to expect him to carry the team on its back. So I'd like him to carry on on left or right, with Bale or the like on the opposite side. Rooney/ new striker up top, a new c/b to play with Smalling, and with Shaw hopefully regaining his strength, we be set far better... Rooney is a striker... don't wan't him to play as part of midfield. Has been tried again and again over the last 4 years, and never been a success... To be honest we've been really done with injuries this season. Its part and parcel but ....
  9. Yeah, it may keep Van Gaal hanging in there, but it was good to see utd attack again... LVG is a dead man walking (I hope). We will not win the league and are in serious danger of losing out on C/L next season. Totally agree that we need a PROVEN goalscorer first of all. A C/B of proper quality is also a must, and then a speedy winger would be great. Time will tell, but it was a far better showing than the crap of late....
  10. Utd played a really good game today, but it is still evident we need a proven goal scorer...
  11. Yes, Ferguson were more interested in winning another league title than rebuilding the team, which cost us one of the best midfield prospects in Europe. Didn't get the purchases under Moyes (Fellaini and Mata). Later under LVG purchases were made to play a system that is shockingly defensive minded. Definitely not what most people expected... Money wasted big time. Would expect a fair few players to be leaving next summer. Luckily money does not seem to be an issue, as it'll cost as you rightly state... With regards to managers... not really sold on Mourinho... Although a winner, he too is too defensive minded for real Utd football, but management will want a winner, so there is better than average chance, he'll be in the seat soon...
  12. You're in for disappointment if you believe Utd will become Liverpool... Not a chance. Only reason we are struggling so bad are LVG's stubbornness... It was blatantly obvious that a new c/b was needed and a proven goal scorer... Both will arrive in the summer... unless they can get it when the winter shopping starts...
  13. True. but enjoy it while it lasts, as it won't last long...
  14. LVG out... clueless 'its my philosophy' clown... Give Giggs the next 6 months to see if he has it to be the next Utd manager. Anybody but LVG....
  15. Nice... hope Memphis will find his feet next season, then it could be dynamite... Young out though. Can't stand his diving...
  16. Hahahaha.... Yes it may end up with Germany overtaking England. Maybe a wake up call... For some reason it seems to be the common belief that if you throw money at average players, they suddenly become stars... Too much money is ruining footie in England.
  17. Do I sense a bit gloating...from a Chelsea supporter Though you lot were in hiding
  18. Its probably some snotty agent, who's put him up to it... He may get traded eventually, but he will not be getting the money he's looking for with that attitude. As a football fan I actually feel for you lot....
  19. Totally agree. The biggest problem is the style of play. The way LVG operates did not really fit the players at Old Trafford. A bit like fitting a square into hole. The purchase of De Maria was also questionable at best. After spending a huge amount of money during the summer, you would have though they found the way, but so far it is just boring and uninspired... There is no doubt that Martial was a rabbit out of the hat, but other than that (and Shaw), its been poor, with too much emphasis on defending. (De Gea and Smalling also having good seasons...). Wish list: In - a new star C/B maybe Stones, a quick winger and another goal scorer. And biggest of all possibly a new goal keeper if De Gea goes to RM. Out - Fellaini. Mata, Rojo, Young, Valencia and maybe even Rooney and Carrick And finally Herrera may go for a new playmaking midfielder, if LVG continues to leave him out. He obviously doesn't see him as the playmaker the fans does.
  20. Yes agree totally. Despite the amount spent a lot more is needed... hopefully we can ditch some of the driftwood. Fergie won us the league with a poor squad. Only real blemish was his reluctance (surprisingly), to play Pogba in his hunt for the league title... The rest is history, but there is the midfielder we're missing instead of Sweinsteiger or Schneiderlin...
  21. True but he is right regarding this team being average... And yes he is boring to listen to, just like Michael Owen is...
