  1. Haven't heard anything like that here in UK...
  2. Boom.... first major surprise....
  3. Am I the only one, who is sick to my stomach to see Bedard become a Blackhawk... How the f can anyone be so lucky.... #NHLdraftfixed
  4. Cammi sure didn't give anything away about their plans....
  5. Who are we picking? great question. Think there are at least 7-8 players being being suggested... D anyone from Reinbacher (probably not available), ASP, Willander, Simashev Forwads: Benson, Wood, Danielsen, Barlow, Dvorsky, Moore... + at least a few more. Really hard to predict, where we go this year... so many possibilities
  6. Spot on Goose... join the band of brothers... Didn't realise Simashev spoke English so well...
  7. Its actually refreshing that the ship isn't leaking... You wanna do deals, you keep the conversations to yourself... GM would hate to have their thought and plans spread around the NHL... Poker is the name of the game.
  8. Incredible how many decent players there are in the bottom half of the first round. talk about stacked.
  9. That's fair, but I think for Simashev it is because he hasn't been able to show his stuff, just like Michov... He has all the attributes to be a top class Dman with the one thing we struggle for...Size. As Benzon, Dvorky and Moore all great players in their own right, but there isn't a player after the first 4-5 maybe 7 that is a guaranteed home run compared to the next 10 players. They all have huge potential, and if PA thinks anyone else is worth taking above one of the afore mentioned Dmen, I'll support the pick, but I can't seperate them... and as such, I wanna draft D... that's just me... The last month here has been an amazing time, with lots of good arguments for just about 20 different players, and from Dvorsky to Wood, ASP to Simashev. Moore to Barlow, Danielson to Leonard, Benson to Rainbacher, there is huge potential in each of them, but then there is size, strength, ability, speed etc against them... The 2 things I feel we struggle to find is size with speed and ability... so for me its a D.
  10. Yes exactly... this is why I hope we draft either Simashev, Reinbacher or Villander. i 2 years we could have the most important and expensive pieces in place on ELCs In Year 3 and 4 we have Ds to cover the costs of OELs buyout... Lets f'ing go.... We won't win the next 3-4 years....why not??? I think we are perfectly positioned to make a push in year 3 and 4, provided our drafted players can come in on ELCs
  11. Was thinking that exact same thing yesterday. Folks were saying wait until the draft, when picks are worth far more... Doubt we'd get Hronek any cheaper now, than we did, when we traded for him. More likely the contrary...
  12. Remember a few years back, when Tanev was in just about every trade proposal, because he was too old and injury prone to extend....
  13. Who cares... If he can PK and ensure the puck is kept out of our net without costing a fortune and disrupting the dressing room, he could dance around naked howling at the moon all night for all I care...
  14. It been fun to follow the prospects and all the various ideas and wishes... I'm still torn on who to draft, but still leaning towards D. One thing is for certain though, we are going to draft a player, whom I like, and I will have no issues, what so ever getting behind the player they draft... This is almost ridiculous how good it looks in the top 20 even. I do not envy the scouting department trying to figure out, who will be the best 2-5 years down the line, of the prospects available at 11... There are going to be a lot of good/great players coming from this draft in the future.
  15. Would be happy with 2 quality puck moving Dmen provided we got some proper defensive Dmen (preferably with size). The bottom pairing could be made up of whay we have already, unless Myers is traded. Expect/Hope D-Petey will be reasy in 2 years. And hopefully Woo will be ready in the next year. But we need players for QH and Hronek. Tanev or Schenn could probably cover Quinn for a couple of years, although I hope for an upgrade to play with him. Same goes for the left side w Hronek. In the end its a numbers game, and I fear Graves will prove too expensive.
  16. I think 10-11M is a good deal for both parties... We are a little disadvantaged due to the tax implications, so that is unfortunate for us. A great deal would be Petey taking a 10-11M contract for 8 years ( will be cheap in the later years). And then, once he has made his money, signs another severely discounted home town deal... Thus helping the club build a contender with money being there for the new players.
  17. Yes it would be fabulous if we could get players to sign way below market value, to make a competitive team... unfortunately that won't happen, as teams also screw the players over, when it suits them. Total lack of trust between the two parties... Mike Gillis were good at getting the players to sign good value contracts, but it did cost a lot of NMCs and NTCs to do so... that made it harder to ship the players out later, but tgat was the trade off...
  18. That's exactly it... they want their cake and eat it... I don't have any issues with players milking clubs, that's for the GMs to get their head out of their butts and not being taken for a ride. But I can't find space for them, when they then pretend, that winning the cup is the most important thing, when obviously it wasn't. It was the same discussion regarding clubs pushing players to drop their NTCs and NMCs in order to accomodate trades... Both parties should honour their side of the contract. They are just crapping on all the fans, that idolizes them... its rotten to the core.
  19. Spot on... All of these wet eye stories.... nothing wrong with a player getting paid huge money (the clubs are the fools), but afterwards to talk about wanting traded to a contender is vomit worthy... Where's the loyalty to the teams that make the sacrifices in the first place to accomodate him... If had taken less money in the first place, he might have been able to play on a contender... Secondly, he has one great year in like forever, and suddenly he is too good to play for his team? Ducks may be happy to see the back of him for a decent haul, and good for them if that's the case, but Karlsons 'I want a cup crap' sucks. Reminds me of Kesler, when he felt, he was more deserving of a better team than Canucks.
