  1. We have such a lazy team. All sestito had to do was stop and grab the puck instead he wanted to do the long circle. That goal doesn't go in if he stops. It's Tort's job to motivate this team. Since Jan he hasn't done crap all. The only one out there working is Kesler. why again is Hank our captain? He's not someone willing to lay it all on the line to win. Soft is exactly what he is.
  2. And would we not get more value on draft day? Most teams this year are sitting at the cap ceiling, meaning in order to bring in a Kesler or Edler $5 million contract an equivalent contract will have to be sent back our way. The teams interested in Kesler were cup contending teams. Right? Thus along with a cap dump they are not going to trade back any of the impact players for Kesler in order to not create holes elsewhere on their team, so the only return we could get for Kes right now is picks and prospects, Picks which we don’t know where each team will finish this year likely in the 20-30 range. It only makes sense that if we truly are looking to move Kesler that we wait until then. Cap is going up, teams have more space to bring him in. More teams will be in on the bid, and we will start to see where this team will be at looking forward. The asset return at a draft can change the outlook of a franchise, Trade deadline when teams are making impulse decisions. Not so much
  3. Maybe your just old and senile but if this franchise was in a rebuilding mode, we are already ahead of the flames and haven't started till 4 year after the flames.
  4. Think about it, how much value was being offered around today. Hemsky got a 3rd and 5th, Gaborik got around the same. The value was low today and only 2 teams were supposably in on the table and both up against the cap. Offcourse the offer was bad. All this Kesler talk was spawn off some guy in montreal making this up. Kesler doesn't want off this team, he came out and said that but, no lets believe the no name from montreal.
  5. Fail is not realizing that if we are indeed shopping Kesler we'd get way more for him at the draft when's there's more than just 2-3 contending teams biddin on him. How people don't see this? It's mind blowing
  6. I have a good feeling Kassian is going to step up and play a huge role with this team the rest of this season.
  7. The deal was done prior to the HC. It was pretty much close during the olympic break, thats why luongo didn't play another game with canucks, incase he got injured and the deal would fall through TSN is a joke, they will try to spin everything to make vancouver look doom and gloom. The reality is we don't know who is the big winners until 4-6 years later. Markstrom could become the next swedish King and Horvat could become a huge impact star player for this franchise.
  8. Just named goalie of the month but it's not like that's dominating or not. Markstrom if you recal is the same guy that was the number 1 goalie in sweden and Lack was his backup
  9. Canucks win. First of a 5 game winning streak canucks are about to go on.
  10. ha... Luongo & Schreoder for Bjugstad and Thomas Then next year meet Florida in the finals, if only..
  11. Kesler wouldn't waive his NTC to go to a team that is no where a cup contender. Luongo however would love to.
  12. Would we really been more competitive this year with all those players in the line-up? Would we really been younger with a brighter future? Grabner (3 cap hit) (Age 25) has 11 goals this year, Kassian has just as many plus he provides a physical presence Hodgson (4.25 cap hit) (Age 25) plays 1st line and only has 15 goals, 2 more then what we call a slumping Daniel Sedin. Torres (2 cap hit) (Age 31) Has only played 13 games in the last 2 years due to injuries and suspension. Would have provided us nothing in the last 2 years Ehrhoff (4 cap hit for the next 7 years) (Age 30) only has 6 goals Salo (3.75 cap hit) (Age 38) has provided the lightning with a big 2 goals You know what that equals? A total of a 17 million cap hit and a total of 36 goals with an average age of 29.4 If those players were still on the team we would not have the following players for either cap reason, no trades, or roster limits Santo (.55 cap hit) (Age 27) has provided the canucks with 10 goals this year Kassian (.87 cap hit) (Age 22) has provided the canucks with 11 goals this year Garrison (4.6 cap hit) (Age 28) has provided the canucks with 7 goals this year Stanton (.55 cap hit) (Age 23) has provided the canucks with 1 goals this year Richardson (1.15 cap hit) (Age 28) has provided the canucks with 8 goal this year You know what that equals? A total of a 7.72 million cap hit and a total of 37 goals with an average age of 25.8 Now with Schneider he was a tough loss (in my opinion a top 5 goalie in the NHL), but with the emergence of Lack and the added bonus of Horvat our future is even brighter than having just Schneider alone. So although what you said sounds good but when you dig into the reality, the canucks would not have been more competitive as 6 players you’ve mentioned have provided 1 less goal and $9 million more in cap hit. Nor would we be a younger team with a brighter future unless you think Hodgson was going to be the corner stone of this team for years to come. Edited: I mixed stanton and richardsons goals up, fixed now
  13. Kassian is 5th on the team in goals yet has only seen minimal PP time. As off right now anything is a better option than nothing. Zero goals in last 20 games is unacceptable for first line no matter what your name is. They are playing AWFUL and still get the most ice time on the team, something doesn't add up, maybe it's time to give that opportunity else where.
  14. I'm not that upset about the goalie pick but if Torts is going to use the Lack has earned his ice time. Then why is Burrows on the 1st line PP. What has he done this year to earn that. If his motto is "I'm going to play the players who give me the best chance at winning" then he's needs to stick with that the whole way through the line up. I'm sick of watching the sedin's and burrow play 18+ minutes and give half @$$ efforts. They screw up, constantly get out worked, only to get right back out there the next shift. At this points I'd rather have Dalpe on PP as long as he's out there giving it his all. I'd much rather cheer for a player working his but off trying to win, even he's not succeeding, then watch the twins show no emotion and do nothing on the ice.
  15. Tort's are you stupid. Burrows has a whopping 0 goals this year yet you have him on the first PP when this team needs a goal the most.
  16. What has burrows done this year to deserve to be playing on the first line and the first line PP. Torts sits luongo to play the hot hand goalie but yet does the exact opposite with his players.
  17. I played on the same team as raymond, same year he was drafted, I lead the league and even put up more points than Raymond, he got drafted, i didn't. Your wife's brother may have even been better or just as good as alfy in the NHL for all we know if he got the opportunity. NHL and all hockey for that matter has a lot of politics involved. Just think Naslund almost left the NHL. Did he alway have that skill and talent? Yes, he just never really got the opportunity due to the coaches he had and we almost never got to see it in the NHL. I watched another friend of mine make a Junior A squad at the age of 15 and was placed on the first line simply because his dad was best friends with the coach. Other players on the team ended up quitting because of the favouritism. 3 years later my buddy was in WJC playing on the same team as crosby. Did he work hard? sure, did I play with and against other players that have way more hockey skill in every aspect of his game yes. What scouts saw was a 15 year old being counted on as a key player. People could laugh but I could put a team together just with players I've played with and agains that never made it that would give the flames a run for their money in a game. And i'm sure their players I've never even seen before that are even better. Point is not everyone in the NHL is the best 700 players in the world. Sutter had a lot of help getting where he is. To put his name as a part of a Kesler deal would be a huge down grade for the canucks. Richardson, Santo, easily provide what Sutter would bring this team not to mention, Horvat and Gaunce, Dalpe.
  18. Again says who Luongo isn't still hurt. What if the only reason he came back before Olympics was make sure he was still on the team and not miss it like stamkos? I couldn't have been the only one that thought it was odd that he wasn't the starter in the Olympics now he comes back and hasn't played a game. Seems to me like he still might be hurt.
  19. Man canucks need to sign me just for those shootouts. Nobody is out there having any fun in the shootout. They need to lighten up and not play so business like in the shootout.
  20. Garrison on the PP is pure stupidity in OT, He doesn't get shots through or on the net. Diaz would be a way better option. What a waste of two minutes
  21. Honestly it’s as simple as that. Hansen, Higgins, and every one of our players in Utica may eventually equate to the value of a Crosby, But when star players are involved, other stars need to come back. Dion gets traded to Toronto, sure at the time the value probably equalled each other but the impact of not getting a star player in return destroyed the flames in the future. 5 years after the trade Calgary has only 1 player remaining from that trade and Toronto still has their captain with still relatively high value. Like you said “If we're giving up a star, we better get a star back.”
