  1. These are grown men, they can suck it up, this aint a country club, it's business.
  2. Most of the guys he has brought in are around that growing up age too. People just assume that Higgins and Santo are life time saints because they battle hard in the corners.. lol...
  3. Why take a chance on a pick when you can get a sure thing just as young? Everyone would be interested, EVERYONE.
  4. The majority of our team is inked in for several years. Every one of those years there will be another draft. He definitely won't be alone and we would likely retain one of Horvat/Shinkaruk + Gaunce. Not to mention young guys like Kassian, Tanev and possibly Santo,Richardson,Stanton,Weise ect. could be extended. A stacked cupboard is nice, but there's only so many positions on the Canucks that will be available over the next few years. None of them are guaranteed to even crack the team either. Kane pushes 1 prospect down the depth chart as well, as he is only 22 himself. Kane is the flat out definition of everything Gillis has preached on making this team. We already missed the boat to bring in a guy that can help now with the Cody and Schnieds trades. If Kane really is available, and MG doesn't make a serious push for him...pretty clear he's just blowing smoke up all our butts. Trades often favour the team that gets the best player, Kane is by far the front runner over all our prospects.
  5. Would rather move Bo than Shinkaruk. Something bout him just tells me he's gonna be better. Call it a gut feeling, that and the natural assumption that Gillis botched the trade.
  6. Booth, value wise, doesn't really count as a roster player. Only reason he would be in the deal is for cap reasons. I think it would also need one of Tanev/Corrado. Don't see anything less being accepted. Your'e gonna have the entire league banging down the Pegs door for this guy. 22 year old 30 goal scorers who can beat the crap outta half the leagues tough guys don't come cheap. Think the Kessel deal, after the fact. As mentioned before, if we are moving prospects as the main attraction, a team like Buffalo can come in and offer half a dozen better picks.
  7. Rather than hoping Kassian can turn into that guy we all want, here's a chance to just get the real deal. Worst case scenario, we have 1, and a bust, best case, we have 2 beast wingers in their early 20's. None of our younglings are likely to be as good as our current top players. Just what happens when you draft late for a decade. Now is not the time to be cheap, pay up and make a real effort at a cup. If the short term prize is a cup, then no one will give a **** if someone we trade away turns out to be a star.
  8. Probably gets you an autographed Kane jersey. Turn Kass into one of Horvat/Shinkaruk, retain as much of Booths cap as possible and add in Corrado/Tanev. Then they might talk.
  9. So he'd have to be high, cuz both those guys got hosed. As far as moving prospects go, it really won't have as much ill affect as some seem to think. Kane is not a rental, he's barely older than most our prospects and is a guaranteed NHLer. He could be here for a very long time. Throw half the farm at Winnipeg and see if they bite.
  10. We are a playoff team with a core that isn't likely to change any time soon. Moving top prospects for roster players is kind of the traditional play. Kane takes away a spot for an upcoming prospect as long as we aren't moving a roster player.
  11. I think we have the pieces, it just takes some guts to pull the trigger. MG will likely bring in another Higgins/Hansen type player.
  12. Horvat is not staying if we are realistically bringing in someone of Kanes calibre. He's the first name that comes up as long as a current roster player isn't waiving a clause to move. Schnieder should have been moved for someone like Kane, so I don't see why the return shouldn't be.. We still have Gaunce, who could step in if the position opens up. Shinkaruk as well.
  13. Would probably take something like... Horvat, Corrado, 1st + possibly another prospect/pick anywhere between Jensen-3rd. They may have interest in Lack, though that would be hard to swallow, would need to make a quick move for another backup. Would pay it.
  14. Same here, *****! Dez Bryant is an elite receiver, yet he gets one pass today! How do the Cowboys expect to play when they don't give their best player the ball. Megatron had 17 targets today SEVENTEEN, Dez could be right there in receiving stats if his coach and QB gave him the chance to. Don't say that he doesn't get open cuz thats bull, all the top guys get double covered and they steal passes regardless, Romo is hesitant while Stafford just slings it. Need to trust a beast to be a beast.
  15. Have a lot of fantasy points riding on the Saints-Boys game.. Dez, Thomas and Brees. Expect a lot from each.
  16. McCarthy cost himself the game. No challenge, stupid clock management, rode Lacey till his last breath.
  17. My fantasy team is pleased if Freeman is on the sideline.
  18. I lost count of how many times he had open receivers, ignored them, then threw the ball into the stands. Either that or throw into double coverage and get his mans head ripped off.
  19. Josh Freeman, the worst QB ever to ever EVER!
  20. Not to lose sounds familiar... John Fox, AV is that you?
  21. Giving the ball to Moreno, who leads all backs in td's, on the goal line, would have been stupid. Especially when you have fumble prone Hillman in your arsenal. Yes, scronny Ronny was definitely the man for the job there. Roughing the passer call was Karma for Decker flopping all over the place rather than attempting to do his job and catch the ball. Maybe spend a little less time strutting your redneck @$$ on reality tv, and a little more playing football. Never liked John Fox.
