  1. I'll trade a lifetime of Denver ineptitude for a single cup here. As Canuck fans, we all know how history will be written as far as single players on failed championship teams go.
  2. I think the Tebow year hurt them. Him and his pulled off some freakishly awesome miracle games. Management seemed to think they were a QB away from a SB win. Yea they got there, and could have easily broke their own SB blowout record... Still, looks like they neglected the needs of the rest of the team. D was an issue, always was, brutal secondary, lack of inside pressure. Without Von and Dumerville...yea... Thomas and Decker are not #1 receivers. Sooooo fumble prone, trip over turf monsters, don't understand the meaning of a 1st down.
  3. Regardless of his accolades, which took a hefty bump after this season, he will always be compared to his peers. Rings will hurt him, more so the overall performance in playoffs and most importantly superbowls. Again, not sure if I think it's right, just how I see the football world judging him. Both sides have validity. He was really bad today, (very suprised by the records him and Beybey broke) had key mistakes in his previous SB loss, and playoffs in general. Reputations are hard to build, easy to destroy. The opposition has a lot of ammo.
  4. Like I said, right or wrong. Without another one, his legacy will remain as is, a great until it mattered. Not saying I agree or not, just how it's gonna be for him.
  5. Right or wrong, Peyton will forever be remembered a choker. Ring or not. Coming from a Denver fan.
  6. Ideal time for this is in the rear view... last two offseasons were booming with the type of players that would be considered the right "tools".
  7. Yeesh, that's pretty bad. Booth is constantly hurt and getting moved up down, in and outta the lineup too.
  8. Our 4th line is 1st line dangerous. Well, at least compared to our 1st.
  9. Twins and Kes are the same as the Sharks trio, not far off the Ducks. The re-tool would have been a great option....the last 2 offseasons/deadlines...Elite goalie, young C and Dman to trade...yea we failed hard. Manage those assets properly, it's those teams fans crying about not being the Canucks.
  10. Edler continues, now for his 3rd season straight, to be a complete pylon. He doesn't even bring points anymore. Hamhuis needs to wake the **** up, so inconsistent and mistake prone. Not what is expected of an Olympian, especially a Canadian one. Garrison...jesus, what the hell happened? Kesler hasn't been all that great, but he does look like he gives a damn. Rare around here. Danny....absolutely useless. Lu needs to play with some more urgency, whenever he goes down on his belly, he just gazes at the puck motionless. Won't get back up until the puck is cleared. Every other goalie seems to claw their way back up to try and make the next save. Lu leaves himself vulnerable. Stanton continues to impress. Schroeder seems 50/50 on becoming a legit NHLer Kassian looks very very good. Still hate the trade, but not because of Kass. Could be a force as soon as next year and on.
  11. Edler is just horrawful. If he was on a rival, I would be soo happy.
  12. Yea plenty of ol timers out there doing just fine. Danny is simply sucking hard. Pretty sure Jagr is up there too, and he's a dinasaur.
  13. The market is dry. All the best peices on other teams have stepped up and taken themselves off the moveable list. Ours have done the opposite, everyone here sucks. The last couple deadlines and offseasons is where it all could have happened. We had a ton of valuable players to move, and the there was a long list of teams with great pieces lookin for em. It's gonna get worse, before it gets better.
  14. He's been really bad all year. Even last season he was half the player he was even a year earlier. Might not even crack 20 goals this year. That's pathetic. He's weak on the puck, can't skate, can't shoot, can't pass. Really nothing going for him right now. I thought he could at least become a pure playmaker if his scoring woes continued, but no, he has zero creativity right now. Usually misses his passes. Its painful to watch him and anyone on the rush now, can't even get a shot off let alone a goal. Can only hope he gets better with another year removed from his bonk on the head.
  15. Well that is completely dependent on which players are added. You could pretty much give 2 of any players in the league to any team and make em a contender. While we won't get such quality, we are also well above a bottom feeder. A couple good players can make a huge difference, even 1 has a big domino effect on every line. All of a sudden, we are stacked. Still, I think that time has gone, all the players im thinking of are pretty much untouchable. Waited too long.
  16. Damn, I really wanted him traded..Could have brought us something to compete. A nice hockey trade to put us in the top ranks of the west. It's past. There's no player I want now that's in realistic grasps. The clock has run out, everyone we should have targeted has become way too good. Untouchable by their GM's..Our only hope is that these prospects will surpass expectations...quickly... Thank god I'm young, still might be around for the great prize.
  17. Entire Oil board on HF is raving about taking a shot at Kassian, lololol. He has rustled their jimmies so hard. Hope he scores a hatty and truck sticks Eberle/Hall.
  18. Ughhh, keeping Cody would have opened up so many more possibilities. The list of teams in the last two offseasons looking for a player like that was huge. Tons of top picks and roster players that could help us. Could have also been a huge piece in bringing back a major player. Kass hasn't started to produce until recently, his value is prob pretty low still on Buffalo. Maybe coulda had em both... But we don't and now Bo is our only real trading chip, and as the season goes on, all the worthwhile pieces he could potentially bring back are becoming more and more untouchable. Looks like we will be staying the course over the remainder of the Sedin era. This is gonna suck. With each step forward, there's gonna be two back.
  19. I actually think NYI would have considered a deal of Edler, Shnieder and Coho for Tavares in the past offseason. JT had yet to put up ppg, and they were crying for a goalie and D-man. All under term, with Coho a RFA and adequate replacement for Tavares.. Snow at least thinks bout it.
  20. When they're barely drinking age, it kind of is. Changes the whole team, a lot better than tanking.
  21. Its sad and hilarious at the same time that Gillis chooses now of all years to squeeze prospects and let them develop. Ofcourse now is probably the worst time over the last few years to do it. The gap between our promising younglings and our top vets is the perfect distance for us to experience extreme mediocrity without sniffing another shot at the finals. Horvat, Shink and Kassian in. Sedins out. Without some early and beastly rookie/sophomore campaigns (not likely), their primes will not align ala Couture/Burns/Jumbo/Marleau in SJ.
  22. Daniel has plummeted from 40 goals, to 30, to barely being able to keep a 20g pace in a little over 1 year. He shoots like a girl. He showed he still has the accuracy in the skillz competition, just has zero authority on the ice.
  23. Weise continues to rip the Preds. Couldn't beleive all the people willing to trade him. On a team that's screaming for offense, we should be thrilled to have a 4th liner on pace for over 20 points.
