Nope we've tried speed and skill a billion times over and we always lose to a team in the playoffs that's bullying us as they mop the floor with us. Tired of that old speel. We have plenty of big guys that can skate and lay the body. They just need to do it. Nobody needs to fight Reaves but we can't let them walk all over us.

He doesn't single-handedly stop it from happening no, but we can't allow them to roll over us. And no he doesn't have to fight Reaves, he'll help with pushback. Fighting afterwards would send a message that it's not ok to hurt or go after our star players, and we need to go after their star players. Eye for an eye. Gaudette hasn't been a factor, and I see MacEwen's services being much more needed in game 3.

Of course they're not doing anything, it's the playoffs and it didn't even catch him in the head. They sometimes don't even penalize headshots that actually do make contact. Can't go crying to the league, how about we go after their star players a little bit instead. I'm talking Marchessault/Stone/Karlsson/Schmidt. They're certainly playing Pettersson and Hughes hard and giving them extra attention. We should be doing the same exact thing to their star players. Loved when Virtanen crunched Tuch after somebody took a run at one of our guys.

lol @Drakrami coming in a little hot ain't ya big guy? I guess can't ever trade a prospect then... @ForsbergTheGreat Lockwood is a pretty good prospect. I'm not writing off Madden, he will likely be an NHLer. But you have to go on projections with prospects, and by no means did he count as a blue chip prospect. He could become the next Brayden Point, and just as likely Lind can become the next Mark Stone. Both highly unlikely, but nothing is impossible. We're dealing from a position where we had overflow and we arguably still do. The oldest RW we have on the roster is 28 and that's the guy we traded for (except for Eriksson but he's depth). -

Madden's ceiling projects to be a middle 6 undersized winger. You can't have a 150lbs C in the NHL. We have a ton of wingers. Loved that trade and we gave up a very reasonable price for a top 6 RW 2way vet with cup credentials. Loved the trade then, still love it now.- 174 replies

Horvat’s goal not getting the limelight it deserved...
Bissurnette replied to EP40.'s topic in Canucks Talk
While I love the positivity, this will most likely be an iterative process where we might take one step forward one step back for a couple of years before really figuring it out. This is a weird Playoffs considering the guys had months off before starting the post-season, which probably helped them. In any other year, they would have jumped straight into the post-season after only a couple of days break so the guys are probably starting the playoffs banged up and bruised so it'll likely be a learning experience next year as well (assuming we make the postseason). -

Seemed like it got plenty of limelight for me. What difference does it make anyways? We complain about everything as a fanbase don't we...- 22 replies

Idk if he's been amazing, but he's definitely been better than Virtanen so I don't see a reason to sit him out for Virtanen. JV just needs to take the bull by the horns which he hasn't tried to do yet, whereas MacEwen is trying to make things happen on the ice. Crazy as it is to say, I'd keep Eriksson in over either one of those guys right now.
