  1. I think they're the ones that are nuts trying to offering guys like Chytil and Schneider who do they think they're trading for? Tanner Pearson?
  2. I'm not sure what the Rangers are smoking but Schneider tops out as a top 4 D and is likely going to be a bottom pair D we need a top D coming back if we're moving Miller at all. They don't have the assets to get Miller unless Lafreniere or Fox is on the table which i doubt.
  3. Gonna go into the record books as one of the top defenseman in Canucks history. Never in history has a defenseman been as good as Quinn to start their career. Definitely a home run. In the rangers series in 94 I strongly feel that it was Leetch that was unstoppable. Now we have a comparable on our team it feels nice.
  4. Never! I think some may underestimate the impact of a elite goaltender. Leafs won’t make it past the first round with leaky soup boy . Demko on the other hand I believe will challenge Luongo for top goaltender in Canucks history.
  5. Gutsy win by the boys. No matter if we make the playoffs or not they’re definitely fun to watch. I love the resilience in this squad previous teams would have rolled over. J.T.Miller is a leader and there’s no way we can replace what he brings night in and night out. He’s the heart of the team and I’d love to see him stay.
  6. If we're trading him I expect a king's ransom I'm not talking about a Braden Schneider who I believe tops out as a top 4 D but is likely bottom pair, or a Filip Chytil who's almost in his prime and has done nothing. Rangers can GTFO with their crappy offers.
  7. We shouldn't be trading Miller for lottery tickets. I'd go for something like Carlo Debrusk Lysell and a first. 2 young established players a top prospect and top pick.
  8. Young, tenacious, skilled, big forward, sounds like J.T. Miller.
  9. Gaudreau is like a pissed off infant, can't think of a game where this guy isn't crying to the refs.
  10. I think Trocheck and Forsberg are likely make it to Free Agency as well, both guys have speed and skill which is what our GM is looking for. IMO Forsberg will come in at around 8M and Trocheck somewhere around 7M which is just marginally more than what BB would make. This would make us considerably faster and more skilled while fixing our D if we can flip BB for a younger defenseman.
  11. I would be absolutely fine with 6x6. I wouldn't say you could find a better player than JT Miller or Bo Horvat as I consider them core players. Looking over the UFA market for the next 2 years, there are definitely players i'd rather have than Boeser such as: Hertl, Forsberg, Trocheck, Klingberg, E. Kane, Timo Meier, Larkin, Sergachev, Huberdeau sure we may pay a bit more but it would improve the team alot.
  12. There's very few players in the league who are intimidating and can play well enough to stay in the top 6 much less get named captain. I'd say probably Tom Wilson and to a lesser extent Brady Tkachuk or Marcus Foligno off the top of my head. Getzlaf is just a big guy not really intimidating, Ovi is a physical force, but nobody is scared of him except opposing goalies . Benn Lee and Kopitar don't even really play physical and are not intimidating either.
  13. What you said applies to all the top Leaf's players which is why they never get anywhere . Our core is younger and although it's a small sample size our boys proved they can step their game up in the playoffs. Very impressed with EP and Hughes as smaller guys, they proved they can handle the physicality. Bo was captain clutch, scored some huge goals finished with 11G in 17GP. We took out the defending champs while the Laffs were being taken out by teams like MTL and CBJ.
  14. I feel like Bo is very robotic and doesn't show emotion in most games. I wouldn't suggest we trade him though. His play in the bubble is exactly why he need to keep him. We need playoff performers, guys who step up their game in the playoffs. He doesn't need to fight anybody, I just wish he would use his size/strength to his advantage and throw some hits, play a heavy game, be tough to play against. BB is right, our most willing combatant Schenn isn't a fighter. I appreciate everything he does for this team but he shouldn't be that guy.
  15. Lammikko, Motter and Highmore have been great for us, they've even chipped in some offense recently. I have no problems with the 4th line. The third line centred by Dick is pretty bad and is exactly what you described. He was supposed to be a defensive centre that could go up against other team's top lines and free up Bo, this could not be further from the truth.
  16. What do you mean he's back to his 40 goal scoring pace? He's never even been on pace for 40. We're not giving up on him as he's showing promise. He's been regressing. His rookie year gave us so much hope, then he progressively gets worse, had a good year last season then this year regresses again. He's literally done nothing since his rookie year to prove he's capable of 40. With the amount of time it takes him to get the puck off his stick now i'm confident it will never happen unless he can start shooting at 20% + . At his current career shooting % he would need to fire 310 shots or 3.78 shots a game to hit 40 goals. He doesn't get his shot off fast enough to put that many pucks on net IMO. I don't think management sees him as a core player either. If he's going to cost at least 7.5 there are many better options out there that can improve our team.
  17. I thought they did very well in 2020 and eliminated the defending champs and took VGK to 7, that's quite an accomplishment and great playoff experience imo for a young team and it shows that our core players can step their game up in the playoffs ( JT Miller EP Hughes Demko and Bo ). Had we kept that bubble squad together, we'd be a lot closer imo. Losing Tanev our best defensive D hurt a lot. Losing TT and keeping Virt was a huge mistake. Madden won't even be an NHL player, not much of a loss there and a second round pick likely does not make the NHL either. We fully intended to re-sign TT, but nobody could've predicted what happened that year. BB was having an abysmal year also and TT helped solidify our top 6.
  18. I only called it the Bertuzzi days because of how far he went to stick up for Naslund. I agree with the Jovocop part and still remember how he KOed Deadmarsh and basically ended his career. It's night and day the response and pushback we had before compared to now. When Steve Moore hit Naslund he had Brad May go after him, Matt Cooke and eventually Bertuzzi. Nowadays everybody turns a blind eye. He fought more back in his Panther days, I think eventually guys just didn't want to fight him. Wilson tried to go after him one game, he just reverse hit Wilson like he was a bug and beat him in the fight on top of that. Honestly last night nobody was going to take on Delauriers, Schenn tried to take on a real enforcer in Johnston last time and got beat pretty bad. I love what Schenn does for this team but being a punching bag isn't intimidating to the other team.
  19. We traded all our truculence away. I definitely think Podkolzin can be one of our forwards that can play a heavy game. JT Miller when he's pissed can do that as well. I was wishing we had signed Gudas when he was a FA, he eats pucks and hits anything that moves.
  20. This is why we love J.T. Miller. We haven't had that since the Bertuzzi days IMO. We've had some decently tough teams in the late 2000's featuring guys like Rypien, Hordichuk, KB3 SOB but they never seemed to go to war for each other. The recent versions of the Canucks show zero pushback, I'm starting to think it's being coached out of them. When Guddy came here he was a wrecking machine, under Green he basically only fought to defend himself. Demko got run by Bennett and they all turn the other cheek, BB takes a dirty hit from behind during a pre-season game again no response, EP gets concussed and they all claim they didn't see it. Absolutely ridiculous.
  21. I loved his game tonight, was creating offense all night long, laid the body and came up with 3pts. I like that line of him Garland and Pearson, i feel like him and Garland mesh well together, and Tanner is a strong guy who can win get these guys the puck.
