      Personally, I think it would be weird to have a jersey with a player's name on it if the player never wore that particular jersey.  But that's just my opinion.

      I agree, our pipeline of talent still has us with many options going forward.

       

      ELC contracts in the immediate future are gonna help the bottom line.

      its certainly not in overpayment category. Two legit top 6 players in their prime is a hell of an add. People are worried about EDM adding AA and Green but Bennings moves are much better.

      Flyers play a hard to play against style, that takes courage to play through.  Players have to play in straight lines, and take contact all over the ice, with and without the puck.  The Leafs best players have trouble playing that style.  Sure if they are scoring goals they are all in, but when the going gets tough, they quit.  They have way too many soft guys, who are eating a ton of their cap.

      I swear that I can remember this time period still hoping against hope that the Canucks would make the playoffs. I must have been somewhat self-deluded at the time to not recognize just how bad our lineup had gotten. Absolutely incredible how much better our current team looks.

    It's crazy that NYR could finish with more points than MTL and MTL would still get home ice in the playoffs because of the wild card set-up...
