I did notice Boeser joining #1 PP as well. But a little too late, I thought. Adjustments to PP were necessary long before game 7 but none came. When we win faceoffs, the puck goes to Hughes and they send a guy straight up to block the passing lane from Hughes to Petey. Every single game, every single PP, it was the same. They were practically giving us a shot from the right side, they were letting anyone shoot but EP. Why not put Boeser there sooner? He has a good one timer and has shown to be able to score from there. Our players did their best. Coaches could have made some adjustments to help the players that were clearly overwhelmed, but didn't until it was too late.

Me too. Edler, Tanev, Myers, and Hughes. I actually like this top 4, they play hard. OJ will join the team next season. Rathbone might make it. Heck, even the big guy in Russia might decide to come back. Our defence will be tougher and have plenty of guys that can move the puck. But take Tanev out and all of a sudden, our defence has a hole that's going to be hard to fill.

Game 7 showed that Travis and the coaching staff was out of ideas. Vegas was just much better than us. Bringing in MacEwen or even Eriksson in favor of Roussel might have been helpful, but marginally helpful at best. It almost felt like the coaching staff gave up on coaching this crucial game 7. No gameplan, just praying for Demko to pitch a shutout and we get a 1-0 win?

I think the coaching staff prevented the D from jumping in the play. I guess they were afraid of giving up odd man rushes? It was game 7 but they came out with a game plan designed to not lose rather than a gameplan to win. It almost looked like they wanted to take it to OT and maybe win in the shoot out? No shootouts in the playoffs... I seriously don't know what the gameplan was. We were so unlike ourselves. Even in games 5 and 6, we were dominated but we had our moments. This game, there was nothing. Such a weird game that it left a bad taste in my mouth. If they came out playing hard and lost, I would have been happy and feel hopeful. But the way we lost was so demoralizing and nearly cancelled out all the positives from this successful playoff run. It felt similar to the feeling after game 7 loss to Boston in 2011.

There were so many occasions when Gauds was hemmed in out zone. And often times, his coverage was poor, either covering no one or slow to get in the lane. He moves around a lot, tries hard, kind of reminds me of Bo when in his first couple of seasons. Moving around and trying hard but not in the right place defensively. I think Gaudette has great offensive upsides. Once he gets stronger, he will be a valuable piece.

But they stole good players from 30 teams to start with and thanks to some moron GMs like Bob Murray in Anaheim who gave up a superstar and Dale Tallon in Florida who gave up 2 top 6 forwards, they got off to a great start. We had past the prime players with very little value and had to draft players during the rebuild. Building through the entry draft means you get at most 1 good NHL player per year, if that, usually the player you draft don't get to play until couple years later.

We re-sign Marky. Because having two competent goalies boosts your chance at success. With this year's run, our window to win has officially opened. It's 2, 3 years earlier than we expected, largely in thanks to 2 capable goalies we have. We run the tandem of Marky and Demko next season. Give Demko more games to prove himself. Then, when the expansion draft rolls around, we make a decision. Either trade Marky or Demko for a draft pick to a team in need of a starting goalie. We won't lose them to Seattle for nothing. We re-sign Tanev. Because we don't have an alternative. IMO, Toffoli is optional. Don't get me wrong, it's great to have him, I think he strengthens the top 6 tremendously. But finding a top 6 winger to replace Toffoli is easier than finding a top 4D and a starting goalie. Heck, we might even have candidates within the organization that can step in and produce around 40 points as soon as next season at ELC level contract. If we don't re-sign Toffoli and turns out that we need a top 6 winger, I'm sure we can swing a deal for another top 6 winger by TDL.

A request of Travis Green for the rest of the playoffs

I'm pretty sure the poster is a Vegas fan after reading this. With Edler handling the hard minutes, it's getting tough for the Vegas to score, so he wants us to put in a rookie with 1 NHL game experience in place for a veteran of hundreds of games. Wrong forum buddy. -
In years 4, 5, 6 of his contract, maybe. But for now, he is exactly what this team needs. He provides the coaching staff with another option to eat up some tough minutes along with Edler and Tanev. I think he plays hard.
