No. If our young players whimper under true pressure like the Leafs core and show worrying signs that we have 4 straight 1st round exits ahead of us, that'd be a cause for concern moving forward and I would not call that success. I want to see further evidence of fighter mentality from our young players. Go to the conference finals. Beat some stronger teams along the way like the Canes.

The two players cannot be farther apart. We don't have a Torres and it might be a good thing. I get the sense that the NHL has decided to call everything like roughing, punches, tripping that would go uncalled in previous playoffs. This makes sense given that they absolutely need to protect the players with COVID-19, as an injured player leaving the bubble means that player is out for the rest of the series. This will be the playoff where speed and skill will matter the most.

And that year we went to the cup final.

It's going to be one tough series no matter who we play against. It doesn't matter who we play against but if I must choose, I'd like to test ourselves against the reigning cup champs. If we manage to beat the cup champs, our confidence will be sky high.

[Report] Panthers to part ways with GM Dale Tallon

Move to Quebec city. How many years before they learn? One team in Florida is more than enough. -
Well, if we are going by who has had more bad luck in the past, then the Canucks have 50 years of it to show for + NHL bias against Canucks robbing 2 Stanley Cups + scumbag Kelly Sutherland with some sort of sick vendetta against the Canucks and the bad luck of him being a resident of BC of all places. So I'd say even if we make the playoffs, somehow we should win the 1st overall. I'd rather keep Lafreniere in the East if he's not coming to us. Montreal would be my pick.
-
Thanks, can't believe I forgot about Connor! If they do get Lafreniere, given how savvy of a GM Chevy is, they will do that trade of winger for defence. Maybe Johansen for Jones type trade... Yuck, I don't want them anywhere near Lafreniere, that team's going to be scary if they do. Well, as long as Edmonton, Chicago, Winnipeg, Pittsburgh, Rangers, Toronto don't get the 1st overall, I'll be content.

Well don't pity the Peg just because two of their stars are out with injuries. Winnipeg got lucky and won 2nd overall in 2016, allowing them to add Laine to already strong top 6 group. I'd hate to see Winnipeg add another 1st line winger and ice the line up of: Lafreniere-Scheifele-Wheeler Ehlers-Little-Laine It's going to awfully difficult to break our 10 game losing streak against them if we have to face that line up. The only team that makes sense is Montreal. I think the Pens are going to come back and win this and Canadiens will get a Francophone superstar that they've wanted for so many years.

The chemistry between Boeser and EP was very much evident in this game. I think EP is far more dangerous when he is on the ice with Boeser than anyone else, including Miller. Assuming only one of Roussel/Ferland is fit to play the next game: Miller-EP-Boeser Pearson-Bo-Toffoli Ferland/Roussel-Sutter-Virtanen Motte-Beagle-Eriksson Gaudette

The last time Petey was the MVP was when he was playing on the wing. I think it will let him focus on scoring, which we are in dire need to against the Wilds. Against other teams, we can revert back to EP-Horvat as the pivots but against the Wilds, EP-Horvat-Boeser could be our solution to solve their system.

Definitely worth a try. Horvat wins the faceoffs as well as JT. He will retrieve the pucks. JT-Toffoli has good chemistry. Toffoli-Pearson has good chemistry.
