  1. Thanks for that We wouldn't get to pick all of those though But in; 2008 We had 4 options for 1st and none for 2nd round ? 2009 We had 4 options for 1st and none for the 2nd round? 2011 We had 3 options for 1st and none for 2nd round? (Doubtful Rask an option, with goalies we had) 2012 we had only 1 option for 1st and none for 2nd round ? 2013 We had best in pick 1st and 2 options for 2nd? Not much room for error, and pretty hard to stock cupboards with even the available hindsight of picking the absolute best 2nd rounders available to him and if no 2nd rounders that goes for late 3rd too etc
  2. Of course I knew it would be better, it will for every team Now do all the multiple choices than Benning had Without checking I know it's much better
  3. Need to change it up (although i expect the Canucks to win at this score) 4-2 Rangers Panarin gwg Lafren empty net
  4. Someone should do a redraft of the Gillis and Benning draft teams of 1st and 2nd rounds to see who we could have had on our teams My money is on that with what Benning position of picks and strength of drafts that he had available, he will be much stronger team that what Gillis had to build a team with, so to compare them against each other from drafting perspective falls short
  5. Well if anyone wanted to be fair and objective The draft class weren't strong and weren't big misses for Gillis He never had that much available to him at his picks I believe he was shunned from old boys club, for being a player agent before GM The drafts available were not that strong, (pretty hard to stack cupboards when whats available from where you draft being a strong team) His 1st picks in 2008 #10 pick Cody Hodgson (in not a strong draft) who had a back disorder 2009 #22 (out of 30 teams) Jordan Schroeder (Not like he had lots of good choice to make down there) 2010 No pick traded #25 for Ballard, (who ended up being Quinton Howden in that spot) 2011 #29 (out of 30 teams) Nicklas Jensen (again slim options down there) 2012 #26 Brendan Guance (again slim options) 2013 #9 Bo Horvat (maybe he can draft when up in top 10), #24 Hunter Shinkaruk So think of what was available at the bottom of all other rounds to stack the farm with Just saying I think you have to look at strength of drafts, where teams are drafting from, (is it from strengths or weaknesses)? He brought in fitness and a farm team for us to develop our own players I was really enjoying watching Canucks hockey then, sensed them to win every game, not just hoping People who say i don't care if we trade away 2nd rounders Well those 2nd rounders now for us always being at the bottom of the standings were like our 1st round picks while we picked at the bottom of the 1st (2nd rounders especially, in strong drafts are important to keep)
  6. So Canucks run him through waivers goes unclaimed Then shortly is back playing? Could you imagine the outrage on JB if Hamonic had been claimed and ready to play and we have the record we do? Was it worth the risk? Questioning weird decisions lately (actually in past too)
  7. Do not rush him, just to have him injured (with Canuck luck) and have Insurance pay him instead
  8. 2nd round picks the last 7 years have been near where we were drafting our 1st round picks while being President Cup teams and we were drafting at the bottom of the 1st round- Now we get top picks of 1st and tops of 2nd - so 2nd round picks now are like late 1st round picks that are important
  9. I have no doubt the Canucks record will improve, I have seen this enough times to see, but if it is another out of the playoffs and then start winning to get meaningless wins at the end of the season in a deep draft, that is something that never impressed me. The score in the losses flatter the Canucks, if not for the posts and missed tip ins and average goaltending it would have been blow out losses I don't like the, We had a turn over of players excuse, Big deal VGK didn't need that excuse with no core players even Our new players are outplaying the core ironically If we could reset and count our record in the next 10 games, i think that is what we can expect for the rest of the season with no changes made
  10. I am unsure of what excuse to use here now Cannot say "Hey it's been a long road trip with back to backs against rested teams, just wait till we get home" We are 0-3 on a 7 game homestead so far We have our highest paid players playing Demko playing well I have been picking them to win, maybe i should change it up and pick them to lose and they will win? and that my superstitions control Canucks games? Actually we are past the point of excuses Excuses are for losers "Ninety-nine percent of the failures comes from people who have the habit of making excuses". – George W. Carve We have to hate to lose
  11. I have to agree, when he told ownership I wanna be aggressive and make big changes he stood behind Green and got him the extension This isn't just one fail It starts at the top and goes down to our players I expected us to be better than before Odd why the new guys are playing better than the core When they made all those changes, even EP didn't sound excited or make a positive comment He just said i wanna be on a winner, I will sign my contract with the Canucks (no choice) but after that we will see
  12. TBF After so many loses what can he say without repeating himself though?
  13. Keep your eyesight It is not worth it (besides you'll still be able to hear it) Thats because he was all over the ice Our best player never gave them a reason for praise
  14. A reminder why UFA and long term contracts usually are not a good idea , the premium paid for the return is poor
  15. Tough to pick the Canucks again, but they have won when expected to lose in past 6-4 Canucks EP
  16. Yet Quenneville carried on for a dozen years and we see how Beach still feels and is a broken man even today and who never reached his potential and dream most likely because of others ignorance Who cares what Quenneville and others have lost NOW, They have a free ride of fun for over 12 yrs while the victim still carries the pain, shame and worthlessness he expressed These guys are not brave then or now It took courage for Beach to bring this forward in a macho non supportive environment he was in
  17. Florida just showed how they want to have a Team of class They have a unbeaten record at this point and don't want it tarnished or it's players thinking they condone this They showed the team is important as a whole
  18. I remember being more impressed with EP as a rookie I guess the Gretzky comparisons can be dropped now (It is like when Rollermania was compared to Beatlemania) Gretzky at 18 had tied for the scoring lead and at Petes age was in a completely different league than all others You are right he didn't do himself any favours holding out and with his comments this off-season He wanted the money, he wants to be on a winning team and just like Gretzky you are relied on to be the best on your team (not in the league)
  19. This fail allowed him too make money for all these years, I am wondering why all these guys kept getting paid while a promising rookie never Words are cheap It is like the murderer when caught saying I am sorry Ya sorry you were caught (how often do they turn themselves in to say that)? Where is their compensation to him, from each one of these responsible who continued on making money
  20. Maybe Garland had injury issue and wanted to work it out, instead of benched?
