It's just beyond my comprehension, how any group of guys can even think about sharing a women like that !?  Shameful beyond belief! How much alcohol had to be consumed for this to happen? No excuse to say they were drunk and not thinking! My head hurts thinking that these young men are that stupid. They could have each ,more then likely, as they say "scored" with the ladies willing to give it up for potential NHL players. Were these guys turned down by the ladies and jump at the chance of the only lady showing them attention They should be punished to the maximum sentence.

I agree. Literally one of the most egregiously despicable things I’ve read in recent memory. This is speculation on my part but I really think this was something premeditated. Unlikely to be a drunken mistake or anything like that. If you read a little more on the case, these guys made her take a shower afterwards and threatens her to not tell anybody.

These hockey players at the end of the day are merely a collection of human beings and there’s bound to be a certain percentage of folks with personality disorders.

Hockey has been a cult for a very long time and been hidden well by the higher ups. I’m glad times are changing where this can be exposed and hopefully eradicated.

is there any info out there in regards to the attendance list at the Gala?

the other 4 CHL players, while not part of Team canada, could it be possible that they were still top prospects and/or already drafted by NHL teams and may be in the NHL already?

i think the other names that are just identified as CHL players might surprise us.

The only reason i think that the Team Canada players have been giving statements is because the spotlight was shined on them and players wanted to clear the air.

Unfortunately couldn’t find too much info other than the fact that some of them are from junior teams around the area and they possibly include established NHL players. A lot of “could” and “possibly” so it’s hard to say other than they were other junior players at the time.

Yes, I agree on the team having the spotlight. Also it’s from the gala of the team winning so it makes sense they’re receiving the most spotlight.

Obviously concern is mostly around Formenton but Dube and Batherson's statements weren't great and Comtois is a bit concerning as well.

Sad, terrible situation and hope the investigation was fair, un-biased and if appropriate the punishment firm and just.

Batherson did not deny wrongdoing, but Dube did so I think he's simply just un-signed. The ones to watch out for are Batherson, Katchouk, Forementon, and Mcleod.

    Dillon Dubé, Calgary Flames

    Michael McLeod, New Jersey Devils

According to reporters, McLeod stated he is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. However, no official statement has been released.

    Drake Batherson, Ottawa Senators

"I've been co-operating with the ongoing investigations. Out of respect for the person involved, I'm not going to be making a comment on it now or in the future," Batherson told reporters at Senators training camp.

    Alex Formenton, Ottawa Senators

No statement or comment has been issued.

This is a better summary: https://www.cbc.ca/news/players-statements-world-juniors-2018-1.6597503

I have posted in another thread in the past and the only 4 players that have not denied any wrongdoing are Katchouk, Batherson, Mcleod and Forementon. The other 4 members involved were CHL players that were not part of the Team Canada Roster.

To be clear, Comtois and Gadjovich both have come out and said they were not involved. I think they're Free Agents just because nobody wanted to sign them (yet).

I blame the dirtbags in the management group that allowed this to happen far more than a player asking for his number.  Rutherford and Allvin have repeatedly proven that they don't care how much they disgrace the franchise with their complete lack of professionalism.  No hard feelings on my end towards a player who cleaned up a mess that would never have occurred under respectable management.

Rutherford and Allvin are giving Keenan a run for his money with the obvious character issues.

I wouldn't go that far lol. Rutherford and Allvin had a blunder with Boudreau due to a media leak and honestly should just retire 28 if no one is allowed to wear it. Keenan was on a whole other level with actually destroying the spirit and soul of the franchise.

If they wanted Boeser they would have added him for nothing at the TDL last year when we were trying to clear cap space.

Nobody is paying a 1st for Boeser and his contract. You're taking a bad contract back, not landing a 1st.

They're better off taking a run at a free agent than giving up that pick for an underperforming overpaid winger.

Yes, as I said I agree with you. I was trying to explain OP’s POV is all.

My guess is that he'll bet on himself and do another 3 year deal @ 10.5m.  That's already over 50m in careeer earning before 28 yo. He'll continue to put up great numbers and maximize as he his hits prime and at that point go for an 8 year deal for 12.5m or perhaps even higher to maximize the cap going up taking him to 36 y/o

Yes there's always risk of injury but 50m is already life changing money anyway

I think his agent admitted that they'll be looking at a longer extension on this one.

    Im not sure.

The story I read was apparently Tocchet while coaching Arizona was showing how to do a board battle, and reversed hit OEL and it pissed OEL off.

Regardless that kind of coaching can work for a while, but that style eventually becomes long in the tooth and players will eventually just tune it out after a while.

    That's lowkey hilarious though ngl.

And the Canucks sent McCann away because they ‘thought’ they needed to separate Virtanen from someone with a similarly distracted or dysfunctional attitude.

Wow, McCann is still an NHLer & has just scored 38 goals for the Kraken. Someone decided too early to back the wrong horse.

Worst part is that I think most people had the foresight to know. Jake is such a bust it’s not even funny. The Benning era will go down in Canucks history as one of the worst. Hired for drafting but then traded all our picks and late round gems. (McCann, forsling, mishandled tryamkin, etc..)

On halford and brought this morning they were essentially talking about how they are glad the wheels have come off because they don't want management being fooled...

I don't think they have ever been fooled, during the Boudreau bump shortly after JR and PA were hired, it might have even been before PA, when JR was interim GM.

JR said we are a young team with no structure that makes a lot of mistakes and we get bailed out by our world class goalie. I'm paraphrasing but that's pretty much what he said.

Management isn't fooled about anything, they have a long term plan. I'm still positive.

Yup. JR has been saying this about the club since his arrival. They are pretty much where Gillis was when he arrived. And they are retooling the supporting cast so the elite core we currently have can be great. Exactly what Gillis did.

Agreed. A retool can still require invasive surgery.
