  1. Does anyone know why he was a healthy scratch last game?
  2. Watching the Islanders @ Yotes game and all I hear are fans cheering for the Islanders. Pretty embarrassing franchise especially since the two cities aren't exactly close.

I respect their work ethic too, but all the more reason they don’t deserve to play there. This would never happen to any other major sports league. Their college team probably brings in more home fans ffs.

You should go on their Reddit forum. What a bunch of delusional fans. All four of them.

  3. We already know the 4 players involved. The other 4 weren’t on the WJC team but we’re CHL players that attended the gala.
  4. That’s right, he had a breakaway last game through as pass from Petey. Might’ve gained some height too…
  5. I agree. Fire sale in Vancouver, brought to you by the Canucks. Honestly Pearson is movable, I don't know why he isn't gone yet. He has the potential to hit 40 points, provide two-way ability on the 3rd line of a contender for under 4M. Yes, Poolman sucks. We overpaid so much during the Benning era, it's embarrassing.
  6. Great win for Martin today. But is it just me or does Martin play like he's 5'10? I checked his height and was surprised to see he was 6'3.
  7. This kid can play anywhere in the lineup. His compete level is great especially for a smaller player. Can't give up on Hogz, he has real potential.
  8. From what I understand, it was 4 CHL players on the WJC team with an additional 4 players that were also on CHL teams that weren't on the WJC roster but was also at the banquet of that night. I believe McLeod, Batherson, Formenton, and Boris Katchouk were the only 4 players that did not deny any wrongdoing. With Formenton's NHL career being all but over, I think he should do the right thing and call out every player involved. It's absolutely heinous and their actions is an egregious breach of ethics that transcend much beyond hockey and right into the fundamental principles of humanity.
  9. Yes I agree with you, I guess what I'm trying to point out is how would we be able to afford it this one year at a million more with us being less than a million within cap ceiling? Not challenging you, genuinely asking as I think a 1 year deal at a million is better than 6.5 at 3.
  10. I agree. But qualifying him (if I remember correctly) would've been at 7.5M. If we qualified him I think we'd have gone over the squeeze for this year's roster. Do you think he would've signed a "show me" at 6.5M with an agreement for a raise if he played well this season?
  11. So what does that mean exactly? "He's no Loui" agrees with your sentiment. If you read the rest of my post I am in agreement that he's better than he's perceived and I elaborate why. What am I missing here?
  12. I love the idea, but Nate Mack's contract doubles and will eat up all 6M of Johnson coming off the books. They'll need to make space elsewhere. Looking at their capfriendly, they're getting full value or more on all their contracts (something the Canucks should learn from) so I don't see any deadweight we could take back. If anything, all their upcoming UFAs outside of Johnson will likely need raises. JT Compher and Rodrigues are playing at more than full value.
  13. I agree. I like Boeser as a person, what his dad went through is no joke. It sucks he's had the injuries he's had and I feel like he's probably great in the dressing room. It's just frustrating for everyone involved and I too hope he kills it wherever he ends up.
  14. Yes, he's no Loui Eriksson. I think there are multiple factors that make him feel worse than he is and one of them is probably Vancouver fans knowing what he's truly capable of and there's some resentment towards him not playing up to that level. The second is that it's been a flat cap over the last few years and players needing raises throughout that time has made his cap hit hard to swallow along with the Canucks not being cap efficient over the past few years has magnified deadweight and overpayments on our team. I still feel like 6.5M is a bit much for what he offers, especially since this contract was signed only this past summer. For his production in a cap squeeze era it could've been a million less (which we ended up paying a 2nd round for).
  15. I recant my statements if he hasn't. I just saw articles and rumblings of it - my bad if they're not credible. What I heard was that he asked for one after an attempted healthy scratch on cancer night.
  16. Hogs playing really well. Beautiful sauce on the 3rd goal there too. Engaged and winning board battles
  17. Boeser asking for a trade like the Canucks did him wrong kind of rubs me the wrong way. He's been an absolute floater and hasn't earned his contract at all. If he has such a problem with being scratched maybe he should just play better. Vancouver has been pretty accommodating to his situation and now he's eating up cap space offering up 4 goals and touches on assists.
  18. Overall did more bad than good. Hockey has progressed yes, but has actually slowed considerably compared to the rest of the other major sports leagues in North America and has actually fallen behind the Premier League which isn't even played in North America (actually embarrassing). Arizona is so clearly a poverty franchise and the rest of the league pays escrow to it every year. Their team now plays in a college ice hockey rink that didn't even have a team until a few years ago. Marketing is absolutely horrible and the interviews are so rehearsed you rarely get any good soundbites. Also, massive sexual assault problem that is rooted in junior hockey that needs to be cleaned up. I guess that responsibility falls on Hockey Canada and not Bettman but as the commissioner of the biggest league in the sport, there's enough influence to be held responsible for not doing more. TLDR: a D- for me.
  19. Is there speculation on how much he's going to be looking for? PLD that is.
  20. That would be nice, but why would Winnipeg give up PLD for Bo?
