  1. We need to get their attention somehow. Throwing jerseys with the word “REBUILD” on it is the only thing that comes to mind. A petition? Change.org? There needs to be some public forum for fan’s voices to be heard.
  2. Realistically, all we need is someone to babysit Myers and someone to babysit OEL so we can split them apart and have them do their thing.
  3. Honestly, wouldn’t mind moving them for no value. I do like Boeser but he’s a sniper who doesn’t shoot and carries a big cap hit. Pearson isn’t effective and can be traded. That’s a lot of cap to keep the entire core. Trade Myers for next to no value and that’s 6.5. The only albatross is OEL which we realistically cannot move. I’m okay with building from there even if we suck for a couple years and getting good prospects. Similar to an Avs rebuild/retool. They kept their main pieces and added. So did NYR.
  4. Wow, it looks like he finally learned his lesson. Let’s sign him to an NHL contract. What a great guy!!!!
  5. I think we are more in agreement than not. I understand what you're saying, you're trying to point out on the possibility that he has changed or is in the process of doing so and thereby may be deserving of a second chance. I think where we may disagree is whether he has put the work in on being worth a second chance. Personally I think there's a long way to go and perhaps for you, you're more empathetic towards what he has already done. Either way, we will see how this plays out and hopefully this can be a lesson learned for kids out there to set a good example to others.
  6. It’s not tough talk man, I would have empathy and remorse and talk to the kid I have wronged. Would it feel bad? Might I even shed a tear? Yes. But someone having empathy and remorse requires some level of self awareness and wherewithal and an understanding that they put themselves in that position in the first place. That’s not tough talk or lacking empathy, I have a perfect understanding of it. This is part of taking ownership. If it was easy then there wasn’t a whole lot to be remorseful to begin with. Part of this may lie in parenting because my parents would drag my butt to the kid’s house no matter how difficult. No tough talk, just taking responsibility because it’s the right thing to do.
  7. Lol I can honestly say I would’ve went to his doorstep if I felt remorse. When I’m truly remorseful I show up face to face and even though it’ll be hard, I recognize it is my own actions that have put me there and no one else. Why should anyone feel bad for me when I’m the one that caused harm? It’s actually pretty simple my dude. This guy has had ample time and it took an NHL contract to get him motivated. If I was remorseful I would’ve spent those years trying to change. “Oh no!! He’s embarrassed! So let’s give him some empathy!” Ah so we should feel bad for the kid.
  8. LOL. He needed time and space up until a week before signing with the Bruins? He didn’t even apologize when it was court ordered. Cmon man, don’t tell me he needed all these years. You know what else is disingenuous? Apologizing a week before signing after having more than ample time to do so. No one is condoning his actions that is right, but what is on trial is giving him a second chance. To add, it isn’t difficult to pick up a phone or show up at his door. He did neither and went with an apathetic Snapchat message. I don’t get how you don’t get this. A second chance is given when someone deserves it, he hasn’t. His actions are pretty clear man, in the 2.5 years he only sent in a letter to those organizations asking to work together. He had so much time to make progress towards making amends. There are other examples where players were given a second chance and has shown that they’re deserving. This guy hasn’t.
  9. What you missed is that this kid has not made changes and did not try to be a better person. The guy had all the time to apologize anytime leading up to his court case, then from his court case to when his actions were made public, then from the time it was made public till now he only decided to send an apathetic apology through snapchat a week before he signed with the Bruins. That's him neglecting to apologize for YEARS. His agent said he has committed to working with different organizations and one of them (The Carnegie Institutions) put out a statement clarifying that they only submitted a request to work together this past summer and they haven't actually collaborated. His draft year was 2.5 years ago and only now he tried to work with these organizations? That's pretty sad and completely disingenuous. I am a believer of second chances but he hasn't even proven to be deserving of that. He honestly comes across as quite disgruntled about getting caught and feels entitled to play despite making a disabled kid lick urinal candy. That's not a "mistake" that's repetitive bullying for YEARS. People learn from "mistakes" and "one time incidents" but this is another level. No one is excusing the bystanders in this scenario, they're just not the ones handed a contract by the Bruins.
  10. I don't think you understand that this kid has shown no remorse and taken no action for an apology up until a week before he signed with the Bruins. The apology was weak in the form of a snap message and he had all that time to do it from the moment he was convicted till only a couple weeks ago. Also The Carnegie Initiative came out saying they haven't worked with Miller. Just that they received a request to do so. This guy hasn't changed or shown that he's worth giving a second chance.
  11. Hahahha buddy, you have some of the worst takes I’ve ever seen. It’s honestly sad watching you try to defend this guy who probably doesn’t even care or know who you are. If you’re going to preach empathy, maybe try to start with empathizing with the victims in your grey world. As many others have stated, Miller has shown no remorse even years after the incident. You’re either completely out to lunch or maybe you just like the taste of urinal candy. If you’re insecure about it you should just say that instead of defending Miller’s actions.
  12. I actually live in Boston and it’s not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. A lot of the racism stems from the redlining that happened a long time ago rather than the general attitudes of the people there. Most of the population went to colleges in the area that have largely left winged political views.
  13. That’s good because there’s no way NYI trades Dobson for Podz. However, I do like Podz though.
  14. I did not realize Duchene did so well and Johansen bounced back a bit. You're right, it looks like Nashville would not be a fit as well.
  15. I would go after Dobson but NYI has a comparable in Horvant with Brock Nelson and they already have good center depth after locking Barzal down. I think Dante Fabbro is someone I would go for but I think that package we're sending them is overkill. They definitely would want someone like Horvat seeing their center depth isn't very good.
  16. We have enough winger depth, we'd need to replace all of Horvat's FO's and 2nd line center offensive output and PK. We would still need a RHD and the 1st rounder could be used to draft positional need if we do poorly. The package is enticing and I do love Robertson, but if we put that together we should definitely get a RHD back
  17. Finished this last night - it was really good. You can really see Reynolds and McElhenny's comedic chops come into play. Really heartwarming to see how much the city loves their team and both Ryan and Rob care for the success of the team.
  18. I actually knew kids who went to school with him in high school in the south shore, he is most definitely around 5'7
  19. That's unfortunate. I enjoyed his hockey-related insights. Totally agreed, always like Button's takes. He takes the likelihood of NHL transferability into account whereas it feels like everyone else just looks at how dominant they were at the current level the players are playing at.
  20. What happened to him? Anyone know? So true. Remember when people made fun of him for having Virtanen in the second round?
  21. Nylander playing more physical than Virtanen ever did in the playoffs rn. Who would’ve thought?

We have Podz to make up for it.

  22. No need, I already reached out. He said that's fine as long as @Boudrias covers the moving costs. Lmk how else I can help.
