  1. Could be a good future AHLer in Utica who could turn into an emergency call-up if he can keep his scoring touch in the minors. Can't really be too upset taking a 6th round flyer on just about anybody.
  2. To answer your other question, if those are the two choices, I'd rather they take Hancock. McKenzie is too small.
  3. Don't discount getting a winning culture going in a team's minor league team. Get your kids used to winning before they reach the NHL and they'll want to win that much more once they make it into the big league.
  4. I doubt anybody is overly concerned with who gets taken in the 6th and 7th round. If you can find a career AHLer for your minor league club in those rounds, you should be thankful.
  5. Or take the picks and hope for the best... 6th and 7th rounders are long-shots.
  6. Jason Botterill is preaching the same thing for the Sabres. They want quality people for players. It's one of the reasons why Evander Kane's number will most likely be up in Buffalo before the TDL rolls around.
  7. No. The Kings took him towards the end of the 4th round.
  8. He loves coaching too much to retire this early.
  9. I do enjoy learning of their backgrounds. You'd think that the Canucks did also and used that in their decision making as well.
  10. Agents do a good job teaching the kids on what to say these days. A couple drafts ago I remember the commentators talking about how part of the agent's job these days is to coach them up on what they'll need to say during their team interviews and what to say after being drafted.
  11. You lost me. I've never heard of that drink. I was just always annoyed that almost every bartender that I ever ordered from would splash some iced tea in my glass every time.
  12. I never did at the club and I rarely sat around in bars. Even in the 90's-00's you'd look quite douchey sipping on a scotch at a dance club. I almost never drink anymore, but some day I may grab a finger or two in a rock glass at a nice restaurant.
  13. I was more of a vodka drinker. My 2 stand-by drinks were Long Island iced teas and ice picks. Little known fact, a true long island iced tea isn't supposed to have any actual iced tea in it.
  14. His reflexes and hyper-compete level is what made Hasek arguably the best goalie to ever play the game. That and having a slinky for a spine. The Canucks are very much set at the goaltender position now.
  15. The name comment works for both goalies. One name is silly and the other one is possibly semi-cursed.
  16. Or he killed a man and figured that he'd change his name to something ridiculous since nobody would think to do that.
  17. DiPietro has a high compete level and relatively quick reflexes. That's what has me sold on him. Positioning can be taught.
  18. I have a feeling that the Sabres are going to regret passing on DiPietro for a Finnish goalie with a fake name. I hope not, but I was higher on DiPietro than I was on Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen.
  19. One thing I regret was never having tried a quality scotch whiskey. I stopped going out to bars and clubs at 30 years old and I'm not really a sit at home type of drinker.
  20. When I used to go out and drink, I was never a fan of whiskey. It tastes funky and hits all of your senses at once like a sledgehammer.
