  1. Nope. Apparently yet another brain fart. What's worse is that I remember re-reading it for spelling before posting it. I'll just blame it on the sadness of my football team losing yesterday and move on...
  2. I must be having a stroke. I only now just realized that I typed "Gina" and not "China".
  3. Hopefully they died immediately from toxic superheated fumes because the other two ways are burning to death in lava or land drowning with lungs full of ash and very tiny jagged pieces of rock.
  4. China's burning massive amounts of coal for power? Didn't know that. Thought they had some huge hydro-electric projects that they were creating. I remember reading a couple years back about their agricultural industry being upset that rivers were being redirected and dammed up.
  5. Coal plants are being shuttered. Natural Gas power plants are cheaper, cleaner, and easier. Trump has made a half-hearted attempt at slowing down the conversion to mollify his base, but as he's found out, it's too late. Coal burning power plants are going the way of the dodo.
  6. I'm referring to the last of the manufacturing jobs being lost to both Mexico and China. People who create widgets aren't qualified to do anything else once their job is moved to Mexico. So in order to live, they have to move onto open low-paying menial positions. A guy I knew in the mid-late 90's moved to Ohio to take work at a auto parts manufacturing and stamping plant. Of and on I wonder if he kept that job long or if it eventually moved to Mexico, Canada, or China.
  7. Maybe the Bills and Ravens will get to do it again on January 19!
  8. Go Chiefs! They took down the Patsies!!! Still only 1 game behind them in the AFCE.
  9. The Bills contained Lamar overall. The Bills' wide receivers and TE Dawson Knox continually dropping passes is what helped doom the Bills. The Ravens' pass rush is LEGIT with a capital "L"!!! Forced Allen into messy throws for half of the game.
  10. Yep. It's always bothered me how they do that and then pretend that those people magically got jobs.
  11. Same as the US. Good jobs leave, crap jobs replace them. That's one of the reasons why there are so many working poor.
  12. Fair! I'd probably say the same thing. I asked because in the PGT, games have a habit of getting a bit "revised". I actually got a solid update by someone in my comment section.
  13. It was the case under every president after Bill Clinton. Dubya lost jobs overall after steering the world into a recession I believe, low paying jobs were a big problem with Obama, and continues with Trump. Also, the unemployment numbers get slightly artificially deflated because of the way they define unemployment.
  14. Sorry everyone.  I missed the entire game.  I was elbow deep in the family businesses central invoicing system for hours.  One of my relatives managed to fubar it and I had to un-fubar it.

From what I could see from the box stats, my crappy goaltending prediction was right on the nose.

What did I miss?  I'm sure there was plenty of whining about refereeing as always, but what happened with Demko's poor stats this game?  His fault?  The defence's fault?

I already know Carter Hutton sucks so we can skip over that...

Also had to miss the 3rd today, due to work.

Gotta say, SF..I've seen a few Sabs tilts recently, & Eichel is creeping into that superstar mold. Kid's impressive, & will be competing any month of the season(plenty of talent fades as whistles disappear)

    3. Master 112

      Master 112

@SabreFan1 - we should petition jointly the Sabres/Canucks not to make dumb and dangerous plays when they play each other imo. Expansion twins + you being here for so long make me think both teams should be considered in covenant. So mote it be.

@Nuxfanabroad Eichel has been fun to watch.  I've always kept in mind that he left university after only 1 season and that the rest of his development took place the next couple of seasons in the NHL.  He showed superstar potential last season and is slowly becoming one this season.  He'll only get better as time goes on.

  15. I understand the huge drop aspect, but unless it becomes a trend, it could be considered a correction in the job market after a robust period. We both know people are tribal about their politics and of course the shoe would be on the other foot if it was a conservative in power. That's part of the ugliness of modern politics.

  17. I just got a call from someone to help with something. I may not be done in time to be on CDC during today's game. First Sabres vs. Canucks game I won't be here for in years if I don't finish up in time.
  18. I have a touch of the flu which is making sleep tough and now I may end up missing the game since I have to go help someone with something in an hour. All on less than 3 hours of total sleep.
  19. Trudeau hurt his feelings the other day so like a child, Trump felt the need to retaliate at the first possible chance without regard to the over 70k people who are now going to have a leaner holiday in 2019.
  20. It really is a proper defense though. I'm not a fan of PM Blackface, but I'm holding judgment until another month or two rolls around and we see if the job loss numbers become a trend.
  21. I honestly can't remember ever hoping a Sabre or Canuck player gets injured no matter how bad they were/are. I've hoped that coaches keep already injured players out extra time if their replacement is better but that's about as far as I'll go.
  22. Perspective is always good. I probably should have actually read the graph before I responded. The information was right there in front of my face.
