  1. Found out the answer. Posted it after finding out the answer. Edited the post with the answer in a spoiler box just in case somebody is wondering the same thing.
  2. I wonder if Tywin really is dead. That first x-bow shot should have been a quick death shot but the second one almost missed him completely. I'm thinking about looking it up just to make sure. *edit* Looked it up.
  3. You can't even spell Niagara correctly. You just ooze intelligence and classiness.
  4. The top picks this year are most definitely prohibitively expensive. The other day Murray even changed his tune about wanting to trade the second pick. It's not available anymore. That probably means that no teams are willing to pay the asking price. Florida on the other hand has traded away their top picks before. I would also think that Edmonton would be willing trade their #3 for a lesser cost especially since they are terrible in the draft.
  5. I doubt that he would waive. One of the biggest reasons that a player gets an NTC is so they can make sure that they don't end up on a poorly performing team. I only remember Florida picking up Kuba instead of keeping Garrison, which turned out to be a mistake. Garrison probably wouldn't want to go back to Florida.
  6. Florida does need defense the most and Garrison is consistent. That's what makes Pear's close to the mark. I'm just not so sure that Tallon would want Garrison back. With Tim Murray taking the 2nd pick off of the market, Florida and Edmonton are the last 2 teams that could be parted from their picks.
  7. Actually your earlier proposal is closer to the mark than most of the trade proposals here. The biggest question though, would Florida want Garrison back? Even though Kuba ended up being a serious mistake, Garrison is still pretty much the same player that the Panthers gave up in the first place. Vancouver wouldn't be getting hosed. Florida has a shot at getting better fast if given the right pieces for their pick. They can also pick up a few free agents after the draft as well. The problem is though, are there teams out there that could and/or would offer a better package? The good thing is, the Canucks can offer the 6th pick in the draft.
  8. Stay Classy. I'll bet you've never even been to Buffalo.
  9. Tallon is a poor drafter, but he won't be dumb enough to just give away the 1st pick for spare parts. Buffalo is hurting but the Sabres have a brand new GM now who was hired because he is known to have a strong scouting background and know how to develop players correctly and has been given a few years to turn things around. Former GM Darcy Regier squandered talent, but he's gone.
  10. People need to get it through their minds. At least one scout has said that opening bids for the first and second picks are 2 established young players and an upper first round pick. People on CDC want to keep throwing average to slightly above average players at the Panthers and the Sabres, but it isn't enough... Tallon and Murray are not dummies. The only realistic cheaper picks are the 3rd-5th picks. The 3rd pick's cost would sting a bit, but it is attainable by the Canucks. In other word's Benning would have to give waaay too much away in order to get into the top 2. Trading up to the 5th pick is pointless, 4th pick is good, but the semi-affordable optimum realistic pick would be the 3rd one that is held by the Oilers. Also, you have Kassian starting on the fourth line. That would be one heck of a way to stifle his growth. He is part of the Canuck's future.
  11. Because the 4th pick would probably cost about the same as the 5th. If the Canucks are hell bent on getting one of the Sams or Ekblad then it wouldn't be a bad idea to try and pick up Calgary's pick at 4. If Benning is willing to trade one of the B+ AHL players along with the 6th pick then they would have a shot at picking up the 4th I would think. If they give up an A- AHL'er and the sixth pick then there is a chance that Benning could pick up Edmonton's pick, which would mean picking up Ekblad or one of the Sams.
  12. So it seems that the guy got scared like a child and changed his mind and surrendered because he didn't want to die, but the three people he shot and killed weren't given the same God damned choice he expected to receive. What a coward. To me it doesn't make it somehow extra special because they were cops. They were 3 innocent people with families who had nothing to do with whatever he went mental about. Good thing I have today off. I'm gonna go binge watch the new season of OITNB on Netflix. I'll check back here later today to see what else is going on with this cowardly psychopath.
  13. They won't be calling special forces in on the guy. If they bring in the military, then they'll have him outgunned and surrounded as soon as they locate him.
  14. Read several posts up. I provided a link that explains how the military can legally get involved in civil matters in Canada.
  15. As far as I can tell, martial law is not necessary. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_aid_to_the_civil_power
  16. Foreign law enforcement for one guy. That would be an overreaction.
  17. Here's a map of Moncton (borders are indicated with the broken red lines). According to the CBC website they are concentrating on the northern area right now.
  18. We always shot at outdoor ranges. Shooting reliably at anything over 150 with a mid-range rifle, was difficult.
  19. It would be nice if they could get him alive, but it's looking less likely as time goes by.
  20. Even when I used to practice shooting at targets in my teens, I had a difficult enough time at hitting anywhere near the middle of the target at 150 yards. I doubt even back then I could hit something at 300.
  21. Pull up a map of Moncton. It has plenty of water in and around the whole town.
  22. I think you may be right. It looks exactly like one. That would mean he's carrying a scope in one of those pouches. If he does head for the forest, he'll be headed for high ground to get a better shot. I hope the RCMP is very careful, that rifle has one heck of an effective range.
  23. Depends on how nuts he is and how threatened he feels. If I had to guess though, the Mounties will probably be the ones that will have to take him out, unless of course the military gets involved.
  24. I wouldn't begrudge your right to show any video that you want in a public space, because that's your right. On a private message board though, you play by other rules. People post the 9/11 twin tower videos, and I don't have a problem with that because it's a part of history. I didn't want to see you get a ban.
