  1. It just irritates me when journalists take shots at a team's fanbase. The guy is a hack.
  2. This was posted an hour ago. Since it's a Yahoo article, he had to semi-trash the Vancouver fanbase while he wrote the article. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/report--john-tortorella-to-be-fired-by-canucks-after-nightmare-first-season-041532804.html
  3. I wonder if the Blues are regretting giving up so much for Miller yet. I really hope that Miller picks up his play and at least gets the Blues to the western conference finals. That way, the Sabres will get yet another first round pick....
  4. Those NTC's that a handful of players have are really hurting the Canucks' ability to free up enough cap room to be in the running to pick up a couple of "A rated" players. Linden and the incoming GM seriously need to find a couple of young "diamonds in the rough" RFA's to at least put a decent third line together. If need be, whoever is coaching next year needs to be able to run three decent scoring lines along with a physical hard checking fourth line.
  5. Hooll-eeee crap. I'm glad I missed the game. If I hadn't, I would have had to listen to this guy murder O' Canada. Don't they audition these people? This bordered on being disrespectful. Unintentional, but still not cool at all.
  6. Good point... lol Funny story from when I was 18-19, many moons ago. I bought a package of caffeine pills, took a couple, they didn't hit me within the first 20 min. Took a couple more, nothing after another 15 min. Of course being that young back then, I thought nothing could harm me and I must have some manly resistance to the pills. So what did I do? I took the rest of the pills in the box. Hooo-lleeee crap, that did not go well for me. Once they finally hit, I had heart palpitations, I developed a feeling of paranoia about the oddest things. Didn't sleep for the next 2 days. Finally when it was all over I promised myself I would never touch those things again.
  7. Let us know if it's any good. I thought about going to see it Sunday afternoon but changed my mind because the premise seemed too narrow to make a whole movie about it. I've always liked Kevin Costner as an actor, even after he made "Waterworld".
  8. Take a freaking pill. I posted the article and asked a question. AT NO POINT DID I OFFER AN OPINION. Like I said further on in the thread, I wanted other people's opinions because I only get to see roughly 30 percent of the Vancouver games because first and foremost the Buffalo Sabres are my favourite team. I don't have enough knowledge of the specifics of the Canucks season to make an informed opinion/decision. As to one of your other points, people can respond to the thread any way that they choose. I don't tell them otherwise. I'm not the CDC board police. Never have been, never will be, and have no desire to be. Once again, take a pill and lay off of the caffeine.
  9. I don't think anybody said they wanted him gone because of an interview.
  10. Not a fan of polls. I'm only able to see the Canucks games that aren't airing when the Sabres games are on. Basically I see about 30% of the games that the Canucks play. I enjoy hearing people's opinions. Especially after the year is over.
  11. I'm not a fan of when a coach says things like this to the press. He knew what he had to work with before he accepted the job.
  12. Not the point of the thread. When the coach says it after a season where he is arguably a good deal responsible for the team at least not making it into the first round, is it a cop out that he said it in public?
  13. Is Torts copping out, or do you agree? http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=449330
  14. *parody* Confused Brit calling an "NFL" game.
  15. Then it's a good thing that you aren't an NHL GM. If MG offered him that then Kassian would end up going on the RFA market where the Canucks would then have to match any offer that is made to Kassian or risk losing him. MG needs to offer a fair contract in the hope that Kassian will sign it, before the RFA period kicks in, to stay in Vancouver. There is no way that Kassian's agent will let him get locked into a long term contract unless MG is willing to overpay now in the hopes that Kassian will continue to develop into a solid reliable Top 6 player.
  16. Thanks for letting me know. I've been speculating on how he will lose the throne. It's one of the major story lines that has me, hook, line, and sinker.
  17. The Toronto Series has been indefinitely suspended. The Bill's current team president reportedly said something along the lines of that he'll be damned if the Bills ever come back to Toronto. The experiment has turned into a huge failure. Unless one or more of Buffalo's billionaires steps up and buys the Bills then my guess is that they will be headed to Los Angeles. It would be so weird if Jeremy Jacobs (Boston Bruins owner) owned a part of the Bills.
  18. Please tell me that you didn't just post a Game of Thrones spoiler in a hockey forum. That will so screw me out of enjoying a major part of the show. If you did, you will be the first person I have ever ever put on ignore on a message board.
  19. 300: Rise of an Empire: It hasn't been getting great reviews but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's mostly just an action flick with a lot of gratuitous violence and a fair share of nudity. If you're expecting a deep plot, you'll be disappointed. If you're looking for an entertaining action flick to wile away an afternoon with, then you'll probably like this movie.
