  1. You're in the minority in thinking that. Even the quoted tweet has him as a second pairing d-man. However if the Canucks got him, you'd surely say Miller was the second coming of Scott Stevens.
  2. You're calling a man from a completely different culture and value system a pig? He's neither European nor North American so he's been living with different values for over 80 years.
  3. People, including the current Dalai Lama, are expecting the Chinese gov't to try and install their own chosen Dalai Lama to oppose the one chosen by the religion itself. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-china-tibet-dalai-lama-exclusive/exclusive-dalai-lama-contemplates-chinese-gambit-after-his-death-idUSKCN1QZ1NS
  4. Where does his mention of makeup fit in with a welcoming smile?
  5. Watch the video clip. He said that if there's an unattractive woman as Dalai Lama, people won't want to look at her face. Even though I was surprised, I actually laughed out loud when he said it.
  6. The Bills are actually looking good this year. Most have the Bills and the Jets actually challenging the Pats for the division title this year. There is actually a running joke that the Bills' top cornerback has a goalie academy going...
  7. That was the idea the Sabres had with Moulson, but he dropped his family in NYC and played out the final 2-2.5 years of his contract in the AHL.
  8. I'd like the Sabres to be, but unfortunately it will be at least a couple more seasons until the young guys can move up. Even Cozens is likely to be sent back to juniors this season.
  9. The goaltender market has more available goalies than spots open right now especially with Bobrovski leading the class. The Sabres don't really need to trade for a goalie. They can pick one up on the free agent market. It's not a good time to be a career average goalie looking to get paid. Also, Markstrom played great for the second half of last season. I'm not confident, as I'm sure NHL GM's aren't, that he won't start out slow again this season.
  10. I think there's a 50-50 chance that the Sabres keep him. Being on a comparatively low-ish dollar contract with 3 more years on it gives Botterill a year to sit on him and barring injury not lose any trade value.
  11. I'd like to know what other offers Botterill has gotten for Risto. That's the only way to accurately gauge his worth.
  12. Apparently you think more of Loui than most. As for top end guys, nobody is looking to trade away top end guys with the exception of the bumbling Maple Leafs.
  13. It is controversial. It's trending worldwide on Twitter and people are saying some pretty nasty things about a holy man.
  14. How did you take that title as outrage? It's about as clickbait-y as I could make it!! I started a thread on Christmas Day, that's still going strong, about Faux outrage and pandering to SJW's! Good lord man, pay attention!
  15. I love stirring the pot. The second I saw that tweet, my brain yelled, "hurry, post it on CDC NOW!!!"
  16. Unfortunately I think that's wishful thinking. The Canucks are stuck with him until he either eventually gets bought out or the contract runs out. Any team looking to get to the floor can find better players for $6 million.
  17. It's a clickbait title. Don't look too deep into it.
  18. ^^^^ For becoming the next Dalai Lama.

      50 years married.  I’m in for 45 now.  I think you’re right.

One of my neighbors as a kid had been married to his wife for something like 50-60 years.  He was always in and out of the hospital all of the time so naturally we all thought he would die way before her.  She suddenly died in her sleep first, and not 2 weeks later the ambulance came and picked him up.  He just gave up his fight and will to live.  It was so sweet and so tragic all at the same time.

When my wife and I were young, we’d go to the park and say how cute the old couple were.  We were at a park a while back, and noticed a younger couple looking at us, with big smiles on their faces.

It sounds like the Alf show actor had that kind of “cute old couple” bond with his wife.
