  1. I've actually had this argument on CDC before. It's not just YouTube.
  2. I hope you're kidding. My favourite one to roll my eyes at is the people that believe that there are giant holes leading into the Earth's crust at the poles. I saw that video several months ago and kindly informed people that they can actually Google pictures that normal people have taken at both poles. One is in the middle of ice surrounded by several research buildings and the other is in water. No giant friggin' holes.
  3. I sometimes get sucked into a YouTube tornado and keep following links from one channel to the next. Recently I was watching another SpaceX Heavy rocket launch and after I was done, I started watching other recommended videos and eventually landed on nutty conspiracy theories. I couldn't help myself after watching the first one. I wandered to the comment section to read how many dummies were commenting on that type of video and further lost some hope for humanity. As for the videos that tend to have the worst comments, I learned how to avoid them, but still I'll occasionally purposely click on one or two, skip the video, and read the comments. Usually that will last only a few minutes before I get annoyed and close out the browser.
  4. Apparently you haven't read their comment section in a long time. It's usually so much worse than any spat I've ever seen on CDC. YouTube has even unfairly penalized some channels because their comment sections are so horrendous. They were even commenting pedophiles recently exposed on children-centric channels on that platform.
  5. If he is a mediocre GM, he'll screw this trade up. If he does well with it, he'll redeem himself and buy another year or two. If he does nothing and keeps him, he'll end up having to pin his hopes on the new coach somehow making wine from vinegar. In my opinion, along with most analysts who pay attention, the Sabres badly need middle 6 players. Botterill needs to make a trade happen and pick up a couple solid mid-6'ers and even still hope that the new coach can turn things around if he wants to keep his GM seat from burning up. Picking up a competent goalie wouldn't hurt either. Neither Hutton nor Ullmark are the answer unless the new goalie coach can work miracles like he did with his previous two teams.
  6. Good grief. I started a conversation on elementary English. In University years ago I did free tutoring for some people in English. It's been more than 2 decades since. I really should get that urge under control...
  7. Had Luongo played though we would never have been treated to this impressive skid mark courtesy of Eddie Lack.
  8. Fighting it in court would be wasted money that would ultimately come out of the fan's pockets, but if I were Aquilini, I'd at least attempt to make a huge stink about it at the next owner's meeting or two.
  9. I'm hoping that the Canucks get some kind of relief of course, but I think it's just wishful thinking. Let's hope I'm wrong.
  10. The way that he was using it was a verb? How did you not get that?
  11. They fell apart after 2011 after the owner came in and handed Darcy Regier a blank cheque. He then took too long to fire him and then replaced him with a poor GM in Tim Murray. The sad thing is that even up to several years ago, the Sabres were a top 5 team in all-time regular season record percentage. Of course much lower than that in playoff percentage. Now they're probably middle of the pack in all-time regular season and same in playoffs since they haven't been there in 8 years.
  12. ...and what type of word is desperate? Say it with me..... A noun. Not an actual action/adjective like panic is...
  13. Uhh, or maybe we can both cherry pick definitions. panic. noun. Definition of panic - a sudden unreasoning terror often accompanied by mass flight widespread panic in the streets. Like I said one is a noun, the other is an adjective (an actual action). Even your cherry picked definition backs me up. Try again? *edit* Apparently it isn't obvious that I'm pointing out the way that the words were previously used. Cherry picking other definitions, like I even showed can be done here, proves nothing.
  14. Actually, I'm a bit worried about Botterill. He did the best he could with the Kane trade and got a half decent return, but how poorly he did with the ROR trade could be a career ender for him especially if he loses his job with the Sabres before redeeming himself. He better pray he doesn't screw up the Risto trade. It can take years for an organization to recover from three bad GM's in a row if Botterill proves to be no better than his predecessors.
  15. Was LA cut any breaks for their cap recapture penalty?
  16. I remember arguing that this was eventually going to bite the Canucks in the butt 2 or 3 years ago. I wonder if I can find the thread it was in. hmmm
  17. Stupid post number 4!!! Desperation is a noun. Panic is a verb. Your elementary school learning should have clued you into which one of those is an action. Desperation =/= Panic. Even the previous clown in the Sabres' GM office never let himself panic.
  18. Yep. You made stupid post number 3!!!!!! I've been bagging on the Sabres organizational incompetence here on CDC for years. AGAIN, why are you telling me their history?!? I'm already aware of it. p.s. I don't want draft picks for Risto, even a first rounder. I'd rather have good NHL middle-6 players that can make an immediate impact.
  19. Brother, you're preaching to the choir. I've been saying Risto is over-rated for years on CDC. However half of the NHL disagrees with me. I want the Sabres to trade him while there are multiple teams clamoring for him. When that happens, demand sets the price rather than desperation like with ROR and Kane.
  20. Okposo: After he got his big UFA contract, his play suffered badly. After his near life-ending concussion episode, his play went from bad to worse. Mittelstadt: He went from high school to the NHL in a span of 1 calendar year and predictably didn't live up to his billing the first year. I'll be surprised if he does much better this year. He's still pretty raw. The other 3 are the top line. You need more than 1 line to win.
  21. I know the history of the Sabres. How would panic selling a top pairing d-man help Botterill and/or the organization? You've now made 2 stupid posts in a row. Wanna try for 3?
  22. Philadelphia may be full of d*cks but this is cute:

7yo me would be absolutely terrified of Gritty tbh but good on the Flyers and good luck to that kid.

  23. No doubt. I've been railing against tribalism in politics for years. Trump's actions have hurt his own voting base the most but those people will still go running to the polls to vote for him for no other reason than he has their preferred letter next to his name. Canada's politics are unfortunately becoming Americanized. Hopefully you guys realize it before it's too late to turn back.
