  1. So that's where the Cheeto King's face meme comes from... His CNN debate with the wicked witch.
  2. NY has the highest measles outbreak numbers so far this year.  If that disease breaks through my own vaccine-boosted system because some inbred science denying moron won't get their kid(s) vaccinated, I'm going to go to Albany afterwards and make my local state representatives miserable until they agree to sponsor a bill that includes no legal remedy to not get your kid(s) vaccinated.

I'm fine with wacky religious beliefs until they affect my health and well-being.  My blood's penchant for clotting in inconvenient places every once in a while as well as the kidney tumor I had a couple years ago is enough health issues for me.  I don't need a fool who listens to Jenny McCarthy for health advice adding to it.

I feel bad for people who have compromised immune systems like infants, the already sick, or the elderly.  Getting measles can actually kill those people.

@SabreFan1Anyone who takes health advice from Jenny or that weirdo from Canada that she dated, needs to have their head examined.

  3. Millions of people have given their likeness to the police, companies, and the military to potentially be used against them in the future and don't even know it.

Did not know they took a retina scan for that program.  All we have to do to travel to Canada from NY is give our state DMV a few extra bucks when we renew our license and they give us an enhanced license that pretty much just shows that we're US citizens.

You need better treaty negotiators in Canada.  Soon they'll be snagging your DNA and taking a probe scan of your colon!

I gave up my humanity to the US to skip lines at the airport. I'm easy and cheap.

  4. Looks like they changed their minds. Trump isn't sending him now. I imagine they'll have the foreign ambassador or someone else pressure Ukraine now.
  5. Both him and Trump. He wouldn't be doing this without Trump's direction.
  6. I laughed at it to, but Giuliani is flat out admitting that he's going to the Ukraine in some weird scheme to help Trump with the 2020 election. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/giuliani-says-he-s-going-ukraine-meddle-probes-hopes-helping-n1004291 *edit* I was hoping to make some silly polonium jokes. Hopefully this doesn't turn into a Trump thread.
  7. After scoring 8 goals in today's annual "Legends" game: Putin then eats sh*t after skating into a carpet on the ice:
  8. I never had children, but this boggles my mind every time I read about it in the news. It's even worse with both parents. That just proves criminal neglect since with both of them together, they can't even make the excuse that they thought the child was with the other parent. I'll bet they put on one heck of an acting job if the cops are treating them with "kid gloves".
  9. The Sabres extra 1st round pick just keeps sinking lower as the Sharks and Blues advance... At least Anaheim is getting boned also since they own one of the two from the Montour trade.

Sadly this scene would never make it in a movie today.  The PC crowd would whine and cry and the media would lap it up and magnify the whiners in order to fill a news cycle.

  10. Glad I never made an account with them if their security is that poor that a username list is floating around in the wild. I saw a video about the tweets where they said that they would shutter their store if Valve matched their percentage. If they truly become a hard competitor pulling in a sizable profit, they'll go back on that promise in a heartbeat. Any for profit business would. The long and the short of it is that there needs to be competition. Without it, everyone but Valve and their bottom line gets screwed in the long run. Maybe the next company that pulls in ridiculous profits from a shooter will open up their own storefront and do better than both Valve and Epic.
  11. I disagree. Game studios can literally have their lights turned off and have to close shop because of one game failure these days, or best case scenario their game fails and they get gobbled up by a giant company like EA or Ubisoft and get torn apart into a shadow of what they once were. Giving them money for timed exclusives allows them to extend their development process and not rush a game to the market because they are going broke. As for moving onto newer projects faster, that doesn't hold water. A AAA title can cost up to $100 million or more and I guarantee that Epic isn't throwing that kind of cash at multiple companies. The devs have to wait for a return on their investment of their most recent game before they go all in on a new one. With the extra money they can maximize the time and people needed to polish their newest games before they release them. In fact Bioware is teetering on the edge over their most recent failure with Anthem and are ramping up production on Dragon Age 4 in an attempt to just stay alive. I wouldn't be surprised if they took someone's money at some point just so they can keep the lights on and the doors open. If DA 4 fails, it's going to take Bioware down with it. This isn't a greedy dev thing, it's a survival tactic. Gamers as a whole are whinier than pro wrestling fans and will review bomb a game over the slightest thing. They need to cover their costs and their butts the best way they can. It's only the idiotic gamers who favour one corporation (who doesn't favour them back) over another one who are suffering. So what if you have to buy a game from Epic instead of Valve? Both of their installing software sucks and has code in it that collects data on you to monetize. People whined about Epic's software at first, but that went away as soon as people were reminded about how terrible Valve's software was in the beginning. I have yet to even make an Epic account so I don't care if their service fails tomorrow as long as someone steps up in it's place and offers Valve competition. Monopolies are almost never a good thing.
  12. As long as they turn a profit, they'll do both. Sony and Microsoft bought exclusivity for their platforms for years. Epic is following suit. Unless gamers stupidly fall in love with one corporation over another, the competition between Epic and Valve is good for the devs and by extension, the people who will play the games that they create.
  13. If gamers keep favouring one corporation over another they're just shooting themselves in the foot. It's why I love to laugh at Apple fanboys. If Apple's bottom line and their executive's bonuses improved with some of their deaths, Tim Cook would team up with the ghost of Steve Jobs and they would hunt down said fanboys and shoot them in their sleep.
  14. I think some are taking a hit to the bottom line now in the hopes of forcing Steam to lower it's own percentage so they can go back to simultaneous releases. It'll be up to the gamers if it will work or not. Personally I hope it works because games are so expensive for these devs to make these days that developers are afraid to make anything other than shooters they can cram micro-transactions into. I have no loyalty towards one company over another. I'm just interested in the games that are and aren't being made.
  15. You're going to see more devs hopping over to Epic. They only take 12% of the revenue compared to more than double that on Steam. If I were a dev, I'd do the same thing. That said, the whole Metro situation was pretty effed up...
  16. No worries. I'm the same exact way. If I log on and have 10 notifications, I worry that I'm going to miss a response in there somewhere. I don't want somebody thinking that they wasted their time discussing something with me, because that defeats the purpose of socializing on a message board.
  17. @oldnews What's the confusion? I thought Virtanen was going to explode onto the scene with his combination of skill and power once his arm healed. I was wrong. He's taken a slower, more traditional route of development.
  18. I honestly believed Virtanen was going to explode on the scene once his arm healed. He had the potential, but has developed slower than expected.
  19. The -13 says more about the team and the lackluster goalies than him. EP40 will win the Calder because he was far and away the best rookie. It really wasn't even close and if it was, the forward will always get the edge.
  20. I'm glad you belatedly got that out of your system. I stopped caring about this subject a few days ago...
  21. I've been saying for a couple of years now, if he turns into one of the league's more solid 3rd liners, I'll be happy. The league is littered with top heavy teams who don't even make the playoffs. ie: Sabres.
