[Report] Evan Rodrigue requests trade
SabreFan1 replied to Ossi Vaananen's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I guess it's an ego thing with me. Bedding starlets would be a personal hobby if I were in that situation. -

That's what I plan to do if I manage to live long enough. -

When I was young it wasn't the personality that I was most interested in. Although I suppose when ya think about it, most hockey players are looking to settle down and have the home life that many of them gave up in order to chase their hockey dreams. -

The thing that sucks about snow and long winters is that if you are older, your entertainment options are limited. When you're young and active, there are plenty of things to do no matter the weather. When you are older and relatively inactive to a degree, you can put up with the heat long enough to make it to the next place that you're going that has air conditioning. -

I'm continually surprised that nobody on the Canucks is dating a Hollywood actress. If I played in Vancouver, I'd be chasing starlet tail all over the place. -

No doubt. The only downside to NY nd LA is the cost of living, but if you're a superstar, that's not an issue. I feel for the guys making league minimum in those markets though. They probably have to live in New Jersey and commute to the rink. -

I'm not irritated but I am a bit confused now? In my response I pointed out that the organization is a mess. The Sabres were once a competent and proud franchise. That's why some of the players from before this decade still live in the area. Now sadly the organization is becoming Edmonton East. The Sabres are going to have to overpay for players to come here, not because of the city, but because of the stink of a losing organization. It was that way for the Bills up until they hired a competent GM and excellent coach, and it's going to be that way now for the Sabres since it's a dysfunctional organization with little hope of winning any time soon. -

Not to mention when the Kings, Rangers, or Islanders suck, nobody rides or hounds the players about it. They just get ignored while everyone watches one of the other professional sports teams. -

The Sabres need cheap forwards, but with Rodrigues constantly in the press box anyways, I'm surprised that they even bother keeping him up as the extra forward. I think the Sabres recently promoting a guy from the AHL to the NHL over him is what made Rodrigues' agent finally speak out. -

It's because Ralph Krueger makes no bones about it when he has no use for you. He just sticks you in the press box. That's a death knell for players like Bogosian and Rodrigues. A team desperate for defence next year will take a chance on a low dollar contract for Bogoosian, but Rodrigues was only originally brought into the NHL by the Sabres because he was Jack Eichel's wingman at University. If Rodrigues doesn't get out of the press box and back on the ice, his NHL career is headed for either the toilet or the AHL. -

Nobody retires in the Northeast. You'd be a moron to. There's a reason why NFL games that the Bills play in Carolina and Florida have so many Buffalo fans at them. -

But it has nothing to do with both guys riding the pine in the press box on expiring contracts and everything to do with Buffalo is cold and snowy half of the year, amiright? -

but... but... but... you're a jackass who is speaking out of his hind quarters. It has nothing to do with Buffalo as a city. (For the record east and west Buffalo are sh*tholes where residents cry "gentrification" if you try to make things better.) Bogosian and Rodrigues haven't been used on the ice and both of their contracts are expiring. That's why they want out. It's even worse for Rodriguez because unlike Bogosian he has been healthy. These guys aren't being utilized on a bad team. What are the chances the better teams in the league will want to sign them to decent contracts next season if they stay in the Sabres' press box watching the games? I'm a native, but if I played for the Sabres and my next multi-million dollar contract was in jeopardy, I'd be hollering at the top of my lungs that I want out and I wouldn't be as nice as Bogosian and Rodrigues are. -

No, most don't because the organization is a mess, but as far as Rodrigues goes, he's been a healthy scratch and in the head coaches dog house since the beginning of the season. -

What Stops A Bad Guy With A Gun In Texas?

I had wondered if that might be it as well, but this one involved killings. My best guess is that he was mentally ill (goes without saying) and wanted to go out in what he considered a "blaze of glory". We'll know for sure though once the Dallas PD and the FBI follows up on the investigation. -

Canada could easily create it's own version of RICO laws. It started out as a tool against organized crime under the umbrella of racketeering, but eventually morphed into an easy way for the government to take away criminals money and possessions. Be careful what you wish for though. Federal and state governments abuse the h*ll out of the RICO statutes. -

Not surprisingly, the guy was a known transient who had roots in that part of Texas. As to why he decided to try and shoot up a church knowing that he was going to get killed within seconds, we'll have to wait for the rest of the story. -

I'm pro second amendment, but I can argue both sides. As for gains in this instance, this isn't the first time that this same thing has happened in Texas. It's just the first time that the mainstream media has decided to cover it. Usually they don't even so much as make a peep when something goes against their anti-gun narrative. I'm guessing since the news has been slow for a while, the MSM needed something other than Trump to talk about. -

You know people who are that gullible? That's like catching a fat kid constantly stealing cookies at home, then arguing his innocence when his classmate's candy goes missing. -

Depends on the felon I suppose. I imagine the white collar criminals aren't packing very often. That's definitely one thing that sucks. You could be convicted of a non-violent felony and you instantly lose two of your constitutional rights (voting and right to bear arms). -
Nope. I'm a Gen X'er. According to the Einsteins who came up with that silly comeback though, it can be used against any aged person whether they are a Baby Boomer or not. Sadly a Millennial aged lawmaker in, I think it was New Zealand, actually said that in a debate on the Parliament floor. If my congressman was ever brain dead enough to say that during a debate on the floor, I'd actively work against his re-election the next time he was up for it.
