Not super happy with the first two days, missing Fiala and Kunin definitely hit our team a bit. Glad we’ve got a lead but hopefully some of our depth guys can step up a bit, and our defence plays like they did in the regular season!

Ahhhh, it's good to be back. This year's CDC Puck Draft will be slightly different than previous years because every single pick throughout the 5 rounds will have a designated time slot. We will begin the draft the day following the end of the Conference Semi-Finals (currently projected for September 7th), and since we will reach the final 4 teams before the conclusion of the conference finals/finals, we will allow the final 4 teams to PM us their choice, and ideally there will be no overlapping players. That way we can continue the draft (if two or more teams select the same player, we will go by regular season standings). Closer to the date we will release the specific time slots, but for now the following is the time limits per draft pick. DRAFT WINDOW: 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM, PACIFIC STANDARD TIME Selections/Rounds Limit Per Pick Total Time 1-10 3 Hours 7 Days 11-31 2 Hours 2nd Round 1.5 Hours 4 Days 3rd Round 1 Hour 3 Days 4th Round 45 Minutes 2.5 Days 5th Round 30 Minutes 1.5 Days 18 Days Total

In another fantasy league I had somebody get quite nasty when they realized as we submitted a deal that a player I was moving already had the retention, and that it was not me retaining. They backed out and demanded I give up more. Either way they were receiving the same thing, but they focused on doing "damage" to the other team in a return as opposed focusing on what they're receiving. Such a bruuuuutal mentality to do fantasy sports.

Plenty of people have paid big money to dump bad contracts, in our league and in real life. If the NHL allows a compliance buyout again it would for sure be used against at least a couple players used in the aforementioned scenario. IMO they are nearly identical impacts when it comes to previous deals, and if the league does come out with cap relief I’d be okay with any of the options laid out. (I also don’t have any bad retentions or buyout needs so I don’t consider myself bias)

Start prepping your mock drafts! Apparently they are making a decision about an early June draft this week or next, which means if it happens our draft will follow shortly after that announcement (depending on the exact date).

Has anyone suggested using Vancouver’s Olympic village for a central playoff location? It kind of makes a lot of sense..more than enough space, I’d imagine lots of space for games, practice, tv crews. Does anybody care to add some downsides to this location?

Before the deadline, I had 31.48fp/g in a playoff position. That’s 189 fantasy points over an average 6 game series. I have now brought in another 25.2fp/g which brings my total estimated fantasy points in a first round series to 340. That’s nearly double. I’ve had a good roster to put me near the top of the league during the regular season, and now I just need to hope for a little luck to bring me all the way.
