@Rubik - I totally get what you're saying. I understood most of the reasons they chose to do things, I just didn't agree that it worked/was necessary. I'll address your points in order as well.
Spoiler1. I like that they portrayed the greyness between good/evil, jedi/sith, Empire/Resistance. I just think it could have been done in a way that was more integral to the story. The casino scene felt like a throw in just so they could broach that topic rather than the topic arising naturally. Again, I get the importance of the topic, I just don't think it was done as well as it could have been. Again, I really think they should have re-introduced Lando in the casino scene. It would have brought some significance to it.
2. I get the distrust thing, but again, not done well and not enough of a reason. These people were on the brink of dying and the resistance crumbling. You're telling me they can't work together even a little bit? Its not like those two had some huge history together. Poe didn't even know who Holdo was other than some important battle hero. Yet for some reason they can't share the plan with one another? Holdo even mentioned that Leia informed her about how brash Poe can be, so why not just share the plan instead of literally forcing Poe into trying to mutiny? Just didn't seem necessary, particularly in light of the circumstances.
3. I agree about the death star thing, just was a passing comment. I was speaking more broadly about all the times the resistance fighters in past movies could have used that to kamizake at important targets. Why didn't the resistance just have one of their fighters hyperspace crash into the planet-shield in Rogue One instead of letting their whole fleet get wiped out before finally getting a Star Destroyer to crash into it? You know what I mean? Just seems like a super useful tactic that could be used much more effectively in a lot of battles we've already witnessed.
4. I don't mind that Snoke died. I just think they should have at least explained WHO THE F HE WAS. He was an important character in the development of this series and the development of who Kylo Ren is. Giving him like 5 minutes of screen-time before killing him off makes one question how strong he really was (and therefore how weak everyone he was fighting against was).
5. Still don't buy the Finn/Rose thing. It was six hours. I don't buy it. I don't think you can sell me on that one.
6. With regard to humour, I completely agree. I actually think some humour is fine (I loved some of Han's lines in TFA, and I didn't mind Poe's phone call joke at the start of TLJ. But the Porgs were unnecessary and stupid. I thought Luke throwing the lightsaber, calling the lightsaber a "laser sword", etc. was all stupid and really hurt the film.
