The last jedi was far from perfect, but it still was a good movie. And still far superior to the prequels. If you feel otherwise i think you really should go rewatch them. Im guessing you suppressed the memories of the garbage parts. Maybe consult a therapist before rewatching them actually so you dont go catatonic or have a breakdown.

The last jedi has the same sort of problems as TFA does, they are annoying if you are a fan of the star wars universe outside the movies but if you can ignore that. Then they are a lot better. I do agree about the casino part, mostly unnecessary.

I have a hard time calling a movie a "good movie" when 1/5th of the movie was unnecessary.

What makes it worse is that wasn't even its biggest issue.

Here's my take on some of the things you've said. However, it's important that I am not trying to convince you that you're wrong, and I'm right, just want to give you an alternative perspective. :)

      Spoiler

      1. Casino scene

I agree with you that it was such a huge part of the movie and it didn't really add much. However, I think it served the purpose of getting Finn and Rose close to each other. I mean the two of them were on a very important, dangerous mission, so these kind of situations always bring people together emotionally... :D And apart from this, this was the "eyecandy" part of the movie. The inside of the ships or the blank space are pretty dull scenes visually, but a luxurious city looks kinda cool. And the scene when it's revealed that those people sold fighters not only for the First order, but to the Resistance too... it's pretty important to understand that it's not everything black or white, but there's this huge grey area in the world.

      2. Poe and Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo

Another element I liked. It was interesting to see how much they didn't trust each other. Without a strong and charismatic leader like Leia, the whole Resistance could fall apart. I mean they are all against the First order, but there would be so many different concept on how to fight them that it would probably divide the Resistance.

      3. Ships in hyperspace crashing things

It worked on a "battleship" but I doubt that it would've worked against the Death Star, due to a better shield, and of course it was a much bigger-stronger object.

And this whole kamikaze action was just a last resort thing. The Resistance only had a few ships, they do this 6-7 more times and they are done. :D They wouldn't last long with this strategy.

      4. Death of Snoke

His death was unexpected, but people love surprises. :D We all know which side will be victorious at the end of part IX. So Snoke (given that he is the ultimate evil) is a character that whatever happens he must die... it was only a matter of time, he either dies in 8 or 9.

In the original trilogy the Emperor was killed off in the last part, so it was refreshing to see Snoke die this early. But then again, you never know. He might return in a ghost shape or I don't know.

He didn't notice what Kylo Ren was up to, because he was so sure of himself, and blinded by his anger, rage, (insert Yoda "rant" here) and stuff like that... :D Same as the end of the Return of the Jedi, Vader throwing the Emperor into that hole.

      5. Rose kissing Finn

see first paragraph. + I think she's a rather naive, young, emotionally fragile character. She's just lost her sister, she was working alone in a insignificant postition... so she went through a lot in a short period of time.

Wars are like this. You save me, I save you, we're in this togerher, so soldiers die for each other.

And anyway, falling in love with somebody can happen at first sight. And really, kissing someone isn't that big of a deal, even a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... :D

What bugs me about this new trilogy is the constant humour and jokes. No need for that, it's lame, it's not that funny. There is not one scene in the Empire Strikes Back that's even slightly humorous, yet that's the best SW movie ever.
