Keenan came along and stripped the Canucks of Linden and ushered in a terrible era until he was summarily fired. Is Rutherford about to do the same thing 25 years later by jettisoning Bo and stripping things down? Why did he come out and torch the team and especially Boudreau? Was he right to do it? Is he about to dismantle this team? If he does will he be remembered as the guy who ushered in a great and necessary rebuild, or will he be the 2nd coming of Keenan and hated for his tenure here? If so will it take a decade for the team to recover from him?

Partner everyone has said that for a year and a half. We get it. the D is weak. The news is that Thatcher bloody Demko is having a terrible start to this year. Get it?

Last 10 games played by each goalie: Martin 6 - 0 - 4 Demko 1 - 7 - 2 Nuff said. Demko is a problem right now and he should be sat down while Martin plays.

Yes. I believe his issue is mental. He got ahead of himself thinking he was an elite goalie. Needs to go back to playing 60 minutes and not thinking about the future. How long that takes is another issue altogether...

I don't disagree that there are other issues. The biggest issue though for why we are losing is Demko. Time to say what's what. He has been terrible.

Demko 1 win in 9 starts going into tonight. 3 goals on 11 shots so far tonight. There is a problem. He is not the same guy he was last year. We will go nowhere with goaltending like he is providing.

Has Demko been better than half the other goalies he has faced this year? Not even close. Big reason we have a losing record.

Was at the game great atmosphere! Just a ton of fun. Haven't been in a few years...been to 50 Canucks games in the interim. Canucks have a weird group of odd ducks this year who seem to have trouble closing out a game. Refreshing to watch a home town team get the job done when it counts.

Without good goaltending teams cannot win in the NHL. Demko has lost 8 of 9 games he started, that is awful. He has blown many leads this year. It is not just the defense. It is Demko.

Demko was great last year but has been plain lousy this year. His numbers are like 55 in the league for goalies. Awful. Time he got back to basics and stopped thinking he is elite. Stop the puck buddy. Win a couple of games for your team.

Stillman has 115 NHL games and they traded for him. Of course he is going to get a 20 game look. Rathbone is not great btw.

If Demko can't close out games where he has multiple goal leads we can't be a winning team. Period. That is a goalie's job.

Goaltending. Demko has been lousy. Cmon another game where he blows the lead. It is not always on the team. It is also on the goalie when he has terrible numbers and has lost 8 of 9 games he has started.

I am a big Demko fan and have been since I saw him live in the first game he ever played for the Canucks with the Larsheiders chanting Thatcher Demko Thatcher Demko. But he has been lousy to start the year so how does he turn it around? Ok. Demko you need to get notions out of your head about being a great goalie. You need to focus on playing the game and stopping pucks and doing your job and winning games. Greatness comes from day after day repeated success it does not come from telling yourself you are great. The game does not change just cuz you decide you are a great goalie cuz you have been hearing people in the press say it. The game is always the same and will humble you until you realize you have to just play and stop the puck and do what you always do every day - greatness is the ability to do it every day for many years. Stop being in your head and go back to being a humble hard working good goalie and stop thinking about the future. When you do that your game will turn around. When your game turns around the Canucks will win a heck of a lot more. Get it done partner.

Demko has been killing us this year. Guy has been plain lousy.
