Petey had a tough year. Missed 30 games with injury. Spent a lot of time on his own and said he was looking forward to going home. So you, big shot, jump on the comment that these guys are so quick to leave they don't even have a zoom meeting together. Negative comment. Nonsense. Why not post something positive or just clam up?
-
Way to make a negative comment over nothing. Petey said in his exit interview that he hasn't been home in Sweden since last June so he is going to spend his summer at home. Negative garbage. Stop it.

Francesco is taking a positive approach and it is not without risk. Time the fans got behind the team and stopped complaining. Jim and Travis are coming back. The players seem committed and are clearly behind the coach. So let's take a pause from complaining and put some positive energy into this team's development. I really believe the bottom has happened and we are on the way up from here on out. The Abbotsford move is great. Young core is great. Petey coming back and Podz joining great and great. Personally I am sick of the complaining...

I believe that teams had to submit a list of only 6 or 7 players that they were exposing. Everyone else was exempt. Also, when Vancouver came in Buffalo did too. So they had to alternate picking 1st and 2nd from the dog pile each team put forward to pick from. Yeesh. What a set up for a decade of futility.

[Report] Canucks sign Travis Green to contract extension
fanfor42 replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
I agree with you. Keep in mind that the recent CDC poll had 55% keep Green and 45% turf him, so there are lots of fans who aren't sold on him. BTW 91% wanted Baum and Brown gone and 98% wanted Clark back. We will see what happens there. -
It will heal. Watch his interview. They discussed surgery but the doctors decided it just needed rest. It's a whiplash of the wrist. Not a chronic thing, not a chop with a stick. It will heal completely.

[Report] Canucks sign Travis Green to contract extension

Well there it is. Obviously Green is back. Not my wish. Oh well. Hopefully they change out the assistant coaches cuz keeping Brown and Baumer is just rewarding failure and would be unfortunate. Hope Clark returns but I think he may choose to take a big payday in someplace like Toronto. Hope not. -
I think the risk with Clark is a team like the Leafs offers to pay him double what the Canucks offer. Real risk of losing him because of this. Nobody is offering Brown and Baumer double. Trust me.

Canucks fans fly #FireBenning banner over Vancouver
fanfor42 replied to Tom Sestito's topic in Canucks Talk
The fire Benning sign being flown is a small group of nobodies putting out a public message without taking public credit for it. In other words they made a public statement without identifying the 6 or 10 or 14 people behind it. The fact that they did it anonymously is an attempt to make it appear that they were representing all Canuck fans. That was their aim. It didn't represent the views of the majority of Canuck fans. But they wanted it to look like it did. -
Positives: Demko Boeser Hogz Podz coming 9th Rathbone Juolevi Lockwood Not gonna lose anyone big to the Ass-Kraken

[Report] Jim Benning to return for next season
fanfor42 replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
When the season starts next year are you going to be optimistic or already defeated? Partner, your team has a ton of young prospects developing and getting better. You can chose to be a positive fan right now and let go of all the negativity. It's ok. The Canucks will continue to get better whether you hack on them or not. -

Yes. I agree. And really this is the take that all Canuck fans should come around to. Why swim in the muck at the bottom of the pool with all the negativity any longer. Every reason to think that adding Petey and Podz next year will help. Further development from Demko Rathbone Juolevi and Hogz will help. Possible adds of lockwood or Gadz or even a signing will help. Being back in the Pacific will help. We can beat Cgy and the 3 Cali teams. Edm is ok, Vegas is good and the Ass-kraken are an unknown. Every chance we make the playoffs next year. -

The "news" that someone is flying straight home tomorrow is 1 hour old since the Benning announcement. Media has no access to players this year unless it is in a press conference. How do you suppose this guy got his scoop? Ya. This is a scoop. Lol! Just made up for effect. -

Could happen if the Canucks lose a lot of games in their first 20. If they win all is forgiven. That's exactly the gamble. Let's see. I'm betting on Petey and Podz and a bunch of young talent having a better year next year. -

The Aq family is worth 3+B and their major holdings are in real estate. Maybe you haven't paid attention to what real estate prices have done in the last 2 years... To be clear the Aquilinis are worth more today than they were 2 years ago and the 25m they lost on the Canucks this year is not consequential to their overall balance sheet. Don't just type garbage please. -

C'mon partner. Every year some guys have reasons for flying home rather than back to Van after the season. Even if it is true, which is unlikely. Think about it. The news is 1 hour old. You think the douche who says a player is leaving to go straight home actually has a scoop or just made it up? Buddy, buddy. This is just put out there to stir the pot. -

Glad to have clarifiation. Thanks to Vintage for breaking it before Elliote did on tv. My hope is that they add to the front office to support JB and I really hope that they let the entire coaching staff go and do a clean sweep except Clarke if he wishes to return. For me JB did a lot of good things to build this team and has earned another year.. He made a critical blunder on Toffoli but he gets another year to see if the team is on the upswing - which I believe they are. Green on the other hand IMO has been a mediocre coach that has not helped us win. His assistants are definitely sub par. If they decide to extend Green then please change the D coach and special teams coach. You can't win with the special teams performance we have had. -

Lol a charter member of the don't change anything and things will get better club. Partner Hamonic is a pretty good if unspectacular player, but the point of the post is that in order for Hughes to reach his potential he needs a top pairing D with him. That statement is simply true.

I'd much rather watch a clip of Gadj fighting than a clip of Daniel getting speedbagged by Marchand and turning the other cheek (barf). Look, there is a role for guys like Gadj who are willing to stand up for teammates and drop em. In order for him to be on the team though he has to be able to play. So in 5 minutes of icetime he established he is willing to stand up and fight for his teammates. He has not had anywhere near enough ice time yet to determine if he is going to be able to be a contributor in other ways. Team absolutely needs to find a couple guys who can dish out the rough stuff and also play hockey. If Gadj can become one that would be very welcome!
