  1. What a ridiculous comment. Read the post and the discussion before posting.
  2. Obviously you haven't read the discussion and just garnered the gist. But good try.
  3. Ok partner. I'll say blue and you'll argue green. Post stands. The forwards (all 13 of them) are not too far off. The D and Goalies have a ways to go. Looking forward to the season. Let's hope the team does well.
  4. Here we go again. The post was comparing the 2019/20 forwards vs the 2010/11 forwards since we dismissed The D and Goalies as lesser. Agreed? Ok Daniel 104 Henrik 94 Kesler 78 Burr 48 Samuelsson 50 pts. 2019/20 it was said that the forwards this year may not not be far off. Boes agreed won't touch Danny. Petey though may not be too far off Henrik. Bo could be close to Kesler. Ferland likely matches burr and miller likely matches Samuelsson. So they may not on balance be that far off. And you already gave the nod to this year's bottom six. Conclusion. the post was plausible.
  5. Again I simply said an argument can be made that the current fwds are not far off. And that's true. Give it a year. You and I both want to see Bo Boes And Petey close the gap this year. Right?
  6. Fair enough but again. When I posted this I said the D and Goalies are not as good. I said an argument can be made that the forwards are getting close. By your count you have 5 better new 2 ties and 6 better old forwards. Lol. Almost exactly what I said
  7. Why don't you read the post. I've put up the comparables and concluded that the D and Goalies are not nearly as good and that an argument can be made that the forwards are getting close which on balance is true. Cmon partner.
  8. Ruutu played for Vcr in the early 2000s. Jeff Tambellini played 62 games for the 2010/11 canucks. Yes you could add Lapierre he played 19 reg season games and playoffs.
  9. Could be a thread topic. Let's see: Petey Henrik Boes. Daniel Horvat. Kesler Miller. Samuelsson Ferland. Burrows Baertschi Raymond Pearson Hansen Sutter Malhotra Virtanen. Torres Eriksson Tambellini Beagle. Higgins Leivo. Glass Roussel Lapierre Edler. Edler Meyers. Salo Tanev Tanev Hughes Ehrhoff Benn. Bieksa Stecher. Rome Markstrom. Luongo Demko. Schneider In my opinion the D is not nearly as good nor is the goaltending. But an argument could be made that the forwards are not that far off.
  10. Dubas has played a role. No doubt. But he is one GM in a high profile marketplace who wants to adopt a star based system where his top 4 players eat up 50% of his cap. But that model won't be adopted by many and the clear reality of agents colluding to hold players out is more impactful wrt salaries for RFAs.
  11. You've missed the point. The point is they are all hold outs. Ya Laine tkachuk and rantanen will get more than brock. Konecny may get less and Connor may be in Brocks ballpark or a little higher. The discussion last few pages is why the agents are holding these guys out.
  12. Ya its crazy but the agents are essentially worried to jump first. They can wind up looking like they didn't get as much for their guy. And it's about the agents at this stage protecting their future ability to attract clients. The closest comparables are conner Laine tkachuk konechny and rantanen as they are all wingers of similar age to brock. Some with better stats some worse You watch. They will all go once the first one or 2 sign. Ridiculous.
  13. Yup. I'm on the same page with you DeNiro. The agent is waiting so he can hang his hat on another signing though. It's not about brock anymore. It's about the agent and how he looks in the end.
  14. I agree with you. Brock is one of 6 high profile RFA wingers who hasn't signed. Conner Laine tkachuk konechny and rantanen being the others. Once a couple sign Brocks agent will finally do a deal. The agent turned down an easy win/win back in June. There's been lots of back and forth. Now there's no longer any chance for the agent to look like a winner. He is just trying to keep from looking bad. As soon as some more comparables come in he will say ok there's the market and tell boes to sign. Agents are in this for their own careers. This guy tried to play hardball and hit a home run. No chance of that now. Deal will come soon as 1 or 2 of the.others (above) sign.
  15. Brock is an RFA with no arbitration rights who can't be offer sheeted. He has 2 years in the league both punctuated by injuries. His agent is not helping him at this point. The agent is trying to make himself a name by playing hardball. Tarnishing Brocks image in the meantime. Too bad you are listening to this guy Brock. You should just be playing and collecting a multi million dollar paycheck and making an honest effort toward a huge payday next time once you've earned it. Too bad you are listening to an agent who is trying to promote his own name and reputation at the expense of your precious reputation and relationship with the fans in Vcr.
  16. As JB says every team in the league has their own cap situation. Canucks have theirs. 3 year deal expires when Eriksson expires. Good fit. One year deal is not much different than right now on expiry. Like it ir not it's all about math these days. Every teams cap situation is a poker hand unique to itself.
  17. I know Brock doesn't read these but just in case...I'd like to tell him this lol: Cmon buddy sign up and get to camp. Do a 3 year deal and you can cash in big next time. Everyone here knows you're a great guy.. don't squander all that great mojo cuz your agent is trying to squeeze out the last 5 percent in order to make himself look good. Cmon back where it all began! Ps Petey needs you. He knows it! And so does your Capps.
  18. Really positive. Great to hear. If Olli makes the jump this year and shows himself to be an up and coming top pairing D... wow. That could be a game changer for this team. Let's all stay tuned for that possibility!
  19. Well I hear you. Maybe nobody should care. But I've followed the Lions as long as the Nux. Bout 50 years. That's a lot of time. Here's the thing. Lions could simply fold and go away if Braley let's them disintegrate. Maybe you wouldnt care. And mabe youre right. But honestly I'd miss them.
  20. FTFY. A friend of mine called this year's Lions the worst team he has ever seen. We've both been fans since the 70s. Terrible GM made irrational moves and decimated an ok team. Turned it into a laughing stock and handed the keys to a terrible rookie coach. Where are the young guys coming up? Where is the hope? I'll tell you. It's Braley selling the team. That's where the hope lies.
  21. Boesers deal will get done and all the silly comments about what should happen will be moot. Fans of the canucks will be fans and the sun will come up. Talk to you guys when the season starts and we can all be on the same page and pulling together for the team to do well.
  22. Hey partner why don't you give the boeser bashing a rest. We get it. He's unsigned so you can spout off. Teams struggled for a few years. How about getting behind them.
  23. Last year brock was 3rd in team scoring and 22 points ahead of the player in 4th. The year before he was tied for first in team scoring. Not easily replaceable. That's laughable.
  24. What I am most looking forward to out of all the options all the excitement and all the new players and possibilities.......is the Sedins jersey retirement. Lol. Lmfao. Thx for including that one!
