Dear David Braley As a long time fan I want to ask you. Are you still interested in this team? Do you want to be involved or not? You have been a good owner over the years. You were a driving force that helped focus the team on winning and being committed to success. But now I'm not sure you're the right owner anymore. The team needs dedicated involved committed uwners. Maybe time to pass the torch my friend. Thanks for all you have meant to us. Please consider whether it's time to give younger owners a shot.

Thanks Stierlitz you may just prove to be the best source to hit CDC since Vintage Canuck. Podkolzin is an exciting prospect. Gonna be a lot of fun following his development this year.

Great expectations can lead to bitter disappointment

It's interesting. Did Benning hire Willie or was it TL who pushed that to happen? Linden was all about the Medicine Hat connection at the time. I think that Aq has shown his support for JB with the extension and he also jettisoned TL. So in this case I think JB has room to change his coach if he feels he needs to in the next couple years. -
If Loui Eriksson stays what can make you come to terms with it?

You have been saying this for weeks now. I'm starting to believe you might be right. Green coming out and saying salary doesn't matter when deciding who plays...that was right out of your playbook -

For me that is the greatest moment in 50 years of following the Canucks. Can't wait for Petey to score the game 7 OT winner to win the Stanley Cup when his time comes!

OP is quoting US state tax rates but ignoring federal income tax. Max federal rate is about 37 percent. Add state tax to it and then compare with Canadian rates. (Which are likewise a combination of federal and provincial rates). Not that big a difference once you compare apples with apples. Also there is plenty tax planning available to NHL players playing in Canada including RCAs where some of the players salary is placed in an rCA trust which can reduce the tax overall in Canada to equal US rates and funds can be withdrawn later after the player retires. The tax rate paid at that time can be as low as 15%.

Good grief partner...

Agreed. The part that stings most is all the alumni that Hervey jettisoned who are playing well elsewhere. Wow. What was he thinking?

Focht is #20 playing for team Canada vs Sweden on TSN right now in the summer showcase. Kid looks good.

I'd like that too. Was out for dinner last night, patio of The Banter Room on Mainland. Jake was sitting a table away. He's a good kid but here's who he is. Baseball cap on backwards, sleeveless shirt with tats up the arms. Drininking highballs. (They could have been mocktails. ..I hope). But def not a Sedin brother lol. Like the kid but we will see if he can up his game (and possibly his professionalism.) Hoping he does cuz I've always liked him and I cheer for him.

The Canucks Record when you are in the building

Season ticket holder shared with 2 other buddies for years. So can't give win loss. But some random highlights: Sedins last home game Game 6 scf 94 Demkos first game Gretzky live Brabarian lol Tiger Williams stick ride Petey Quinn Petey Brock 3 on 3 OT winner to eliminate Toronto (oh baby) Seeing Bure live Rypien laying it on the line Many more.. love this team GCG! -
It will be Tanev. Contract year. New deployment within a stronger d core should allow him to stay healthier. Baertschi has concussion issues. One hit and he's gone. Sutter is not on an expiring contract but is just as injury prone as the others. Tanev is a very good player when healthy. He'll be the one to bounce back this year.

It takes courage for someone in the media to write a positive piece where they predict success for the team. The safe play is to be negative. I remember one of the local radio guys predicting 50 points for granlund a couple years ago. He was mercilessly roasted for that when it didn't turn out. When you read people like Willes I like to remind myself his negative comments are just a lack of guts. Makes it easier to laugh off the constant negativity.

Lol. You just made my day partner! -
One of the things I really like about the Tyler Myers signing is what it means if Tryamkin returns. First is the potential for both these huge guys to redefine the nux D. But also. It will give every fan the opportunity to see exactly what Tryamkin has because he will be compared directly with Meyers performance every night. The debate will be resolved as to how good Tryamkin is. One way or the other.
-
Realistically the nux should finish 3rd or 4th in the Pacific. They should be better than LA Ana Edm and hopefully Arizona. That puts them 4th and possibly 3rd if SJ slides a bit due to losing some players.

Lol. Green sets the lines and pp. Ya. He is asking JB how to set the pp units based on future salary. Haha. That's hilarious!

I remember when Lou first arrived here and played. He was so freaking good it was amazing. As an old goalie I was really in awe. Won't forget how blown away I was watching him at the absolute top of his game. Right Zepp?

[Discussion] 2019 Canucks Developmental Camp
fanfor42 replied to VancouverHabitant's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
Was odd Pod had to leave right after being drafted. I wonder if there was some paperwork Walker could have filed to cover the canucks in the event they drafted Pod that would have allowed him to stay. Seems odd he was let go right after this. Did he miss something? Hmm.
