    Man, if the NHL ends up cancelling tomorrow, the Canucks would be outside the playoffs. That would suck tremendously.

      The chatter is the NHL will announce reg season cancelled and delay the playoffs for those eligible.

    hey mll - do you know if a player who is waiver exempt can sign an offer sheet? there's a lot of confusion around Tryamkin's status - he's still waiver exempt so would that mean he's a 10.2(c) RFA and not a group 2 that can be offer sheeted?

      He's not available until April 30th, given his KHL deal. Can't sign him this season.

    SKA doesn’t use young players like this. This is huge, massive praise. Kudashov on Podkolzin, “He is getting better and better, he plays some powerplay, some penalty killing, his defensive play I now trust him, he is better at the small details.       I'm hoping SKA goes all the way (they're often deep in the playoffs), while Avtomobilist (Tram's team) gets knocked out in the 1st.

    At the press conference today, Jim Benning said he's got a list of 7 young guys who he "conservatively" believes will be part of the Canucks in the next 2-3 years. Who do you think they are? My gut says he's talking about: Dipeitro, Podz, Hoglander, Lind, MacEwen, Rafferty, and Juolevi. If MacEwen doesn't count, swap him out for Aidan McDonagh. Woo and Lockwood are honorable mentions.

      Ya, i was scratching my head a bit at his comment. It's quite optimistic, and changing out that much of the roster seems significant especially if we're trying to be competitive and adding in rookies. He was also talking about that in reference to Madden, so was he referring to 7 forwards? there's no way. But if I were to take a stab:

      Makes the Madden loss a bit more palatable, which is probably why he said it.

      Thanks nux fan. I definitely don't trust official numbers from China. There's no way they shut everything down, like they have without it being something significant. Just of the cases that have occurred outside China, there's a higher than reported death rate.

      Haha, could say that every year. 2011 I wanted Saad in that spot. He was ranked 20 something at the time, I thought we would grab him but nooo. The Gillis era of drafting was brutal. 2013 onwards with Brackett is vastly better.

    Currently with Sutter and Graovac on IR, Canucks have zero natural centres under contract in Utica.  Perron, Jasek natural wingers are currently playing out of position.

     

    Very surprised that this hasn't been addressed yet.  Benning and R Johnson need to be looking for PTO's or trades to bring depth for the organization and help our prospects out in Utica develop in their natural position.

      It's been like this all season. I've honestly liked what I've seen from Jasek/Lind at centre. Hamilton plays up the lineup now, and you can tell the skill difference between him and his wingers. 

       

      But yes, guys need to start getting healthy.

      Haha, I like most of his stuff. I've read both his books, and respect the literary references more than the self-help content. I recently saw that he did a foreword for a Conrad Black book, so I can also see how he gives people pause. CBC did a passionate eye doc on him recently, worth a watch.

      Pettersson - Horvat - Boeser

      Pearson - Gaudette - Miller

      Roussel - Sutter - Ferland

      Schaller - Beagle - Virtanen

      Eriksson, Leivo IR: Motte

       

      Gives Gaudette a chance on a scoring line, and a bottom 6 you don't want to mess with.
