  1. Flyers could be a possibility: Maybe some hope as Fletcher isn't naming recalls.
  2. I share your opinion. Sven's camp should just shut it and play smart. At this point, it's whether he wants his contract or to play in the NHL. That's a decision of termination. Demanding a trade that isn't there is just silly.
  3. Gotta get Hughesy under 27 mins. Going to be tough for Marky in B2B as well. Plus the knights usually have our number. I do think our scoring will show up though, we're never dry for too long.
  4. This is just a hail mary for someone to claim him. Would be great to lose the cap hit, but I think teams are similarly in a crunch. If he gets passed on, one can hope the agent stops the b.s.
  5. Province article on it, with a Benning interview: https://theprovince.com/sports/hockey/nhl/vancouver-canucks/canucks-gm-benning-confirms-team-looking-to-trade-sven-baertschi
  6. I'm so looking forward to Jesery getting a haul for Hall just so I can laugh at Oilers' fans and their meager return.
  7. Not sure if this embeds, but this one stuck with me. Baertschi loses the puck up ice, makes no effort to get back and watches his check score. That sealed it for me with Baertschi. https://www.nhl.com/stars/video/fedun-buries-own-rebound/t-277437402/c-4630933
  8. Teams are just jumping at a $3.4m AHLer. Didn't we try to trade him prior to waiving him? I guess the agent is trying to force Jim's hand. I doubt there is anything out there, but one can hope for a pick.
  9. Ok, I know I just said pass, but that one i'd actually do. ahahaha
  10. Huge: Veleno and Hayton on their way. Even more cuts to make room.
  11. I think Olli gets moved. He's not going to make Green's team when the baseline is bag-skating. I say this because I believe his knee will never be 100% and there will always be questions of durability. As of now, I'd say we have some D prospects ahead of him. Juolevi could turn into an asset at the deadline. I'm thinking a top 6 forward on contract. I actually like Juolevi and am rooting for him. I just think he'll be moved before he gets going with us.
  12. It's kind of pointless, as they're about to activate Sutter. MacEwen gets a paycheck I guess. A further wake-up to the so-called 'NHLers in the AHL'. I don't even know what to say regarding Ferland. It's misfortune, in part, but he also plays a risky style. It's that risky style we sought in free agency, so here's the downside of such a deal - a guy that barely plays.
  13. Oof, Wahlstrom and Boldy omitted. I liked both in their respective years, shows what I know.
  14. Very entertaining game. I would like us to protect the lead at some point this season.
  15. Gahh, potentially 3 guys returning and no GDT to talk about it. Too bad we can't make practice threads.

Easy joe. I change my socks three times a day. My feet don’t have a discernible odor.

The idea of a team news thread seems like a good idea. That way, people don’t have to wait for the gdt.

  16. Tanev is too big of a part of our D to move. We have to start thinking like buyers. I was impressed by Pageau last game, and he's a pending UFA, think we can snag him for a 3rd?
  17. Just trash Benning, I still hold a pair of -40s from doing so.
  18. Sens also feeding homeless: Our city is a mess. I'm happy to see Sens helping out. Maybe they become my B team.
  19. It'd be nice to activate some of our injured guys and get fresh legs out there. I know Roussel was brought back from Utica, though nothing official yet. Sutter/Beagle/Ferland all taking practice. Could get a few fresh guys if they're ready.
  20. The more vague they get, the more intrigue. When i think lowerbody, i think hip or knee. Maybe feet too... so why the secrecy? Is it his penis? Half-kidding, but also maybe. Cull and Benning stating 'soon' as an option is a good sign. When you hear 'indefinite' you would think it'd be a while.
  21. I've been disappointed with our call-ups thus far. Baer has managed to play himself off this team twice. MacEwen needs seasoning, he doesn't look close to an NHL player. Graovac is ok, but that bar was low to begin with. That being said, why not try Goldy? Give him maybe 2 games until Roussel/Ferland/Sutter/Beagle (all practicing) are ready. I don't know if I'd stick him on Petey's line right away but definitely a top 6 go. The apparent trade-off in defensive ability is non-existent when MacEwen can't clear a puck.
