  1. This is true, they had some amazing chemistry towards the end of the preseason.
  2. I missed Leivo... so i have no idea what this roster looks like.
  3. Oilers might just build their roster off waiver claims today, lmao. Honestly, Baer/Ho-Sang/Goldobin look better than a majority of their wingers.
  4. Ferland - Pettersson - Boeser Pearson - Horvat - Miller Virtanen - Gaudette - Sutter Eriksson - Beagle - Motte Schaller ?
  5. Kick around the idea of PKers, and you see why Baer was forced out: Motte/Beagle, Sutter/Schaller, Horvat/Pearson Baer wasn't going to kill penalties, wasn't going to line-up in the top 6 and would be forced into the 2nd PP. No real room for the guy. I'm also of the opinion that this is a 'feeler waiver' namely to see if anyone would claim Baer. Doesn't necessarily mean he's cut
  6. I remember there was something leaked last week that Green had his bottom 6 forwards decided. It seems that's the case, as Gaudette vaults Baer out of a top 6 spot while grinders remain unchanged.
  7. I made a status about it, but does anyone think our guys would really be at risk of a claim? No one is touching Schaller, Goldobin, Eriksson, Biega, etc. That's better, younger, proven options available.
  8. You should wait for the full list, it hasn't leaked yet. just a few teams reporting.
  9. Hudon, Lindgren, Connauton, Greer... there's far better options on waivers today than any of the guys we would risk.

@Ossi Vaananen Not really. Have you even looked at their stats? Hudon would be very redundant on our team - probably we'd end up waiving him because we have our own roster issues.

Lindgren is a goalie. We have zero space for him.

Greer looks good in the AHL, but doesn't look ready for the NHL. No one can claim him for the AHL. Everyone has to make the claim for their NHL roster. Greer does not belong in the big leagues yet.

Connauton may be the more prominent one on this list, but this is like his 4th team lol. He's a defensive liability.

Seriously, Goldobin shines compared to everyone on this list, at least in terms of NHL calibre. I think AJ Greer will end up having a better career overall though.

I was shocked when I saw Connauton has over 300 NHL games on his resume.  Sure makes that Gillis Derek Roy trade look awful (we also gave up a bottom 10 2nd round pick in the deal).

@NewbieCanuckFan Derek Roy was actually ok for a little while, then he disappeared in the playoffs. More of a miscast guy, more than anything.

Connauton is a depth defenceman. He's been on four teams. He might get claimed and it would be his fifth. The Canucks could've re-claimed/traded for him all these years. They can even do it today/tomorrow. He'll probably get claimed - and it would be his fifth team. He's an okay depth piece, but by no means does he make a team become playoff contenders.

  10. Yep:

      They definitely erected it.

  11. Just Bachman and Graovac today: maybe more cuts in non-waiver guys.
  12. haha, that's me everyday this preseason. 5 more mins!
  13. A lot of lineups out there. I think we can all agree on one thing: neither Schaller nor Goldobin earned spots on this team. That should make your forward rosters pretty clear cut. Waive these two (lets be honest, no one is picking them up), and give Gaudette the spot he's earned.
  14. That's pretty close IMO. They'll probably keep another forward right up until the deadline to see if Boeser/Motte will be healthy enough to play. We'll be keeping the fat contracts around (Eriksson). Leivo will be the guy to slide up the line up as needed. D has been set for a while, and with Fantenberg injured we don't have to waive anyone.
  15. Probably after tonight's game we'll see the last of the cuts. Every day I wait in anticipation hoping we'll waive one of our underperformers in favor of keeping Gaudette with the team. Make it happen, JB.
  16. waiting on that waiver wire in 10 mins. could be pivotal.
  17. Seeing some Graovac praise, didn't he take 2 penalties resulting in powerplay goals both times? Nah he's done. From the training camp thread, we're showing 20 forward - minnus Roussel, puts us at 19, the easy cuts being Boucher, Graovac, and MacEwen. That puts us at 16 with the hardest cuts coming.
