  1. Good idea for a thread. I don't think we've seen this team entirely healthy all season. I'll take a stab: Miller - Pettersson - Boeser Pearson - Horvat - Leivo Rousell - Gaudette - Virtanen Ferland - Beagle - Motte Sutter, Schaller I'm honestly not sure where Sutter fits. He tried to be a sort of agitator last game, and I guess it worked, but we have to much depth to play him above the 4th. You don't sit Motte's effort.
  2. It's a toss-up anyway:

  3. I might just be able to forgive Loui at this rate. Looking like a 0.5 ppg guy, I can live with that.
  4. I'm down for grabbing Schenn. Send MacEwen back down to make a roster spot, dude is just watching anyway. Run with 8 D for a bit. Schenn is a perfect fill-in guy.
  5. Vote for Madden for Hobey Baker! https://www.hobeybaker.com/vote This stage of voting only reduces the 75 candidates to 10 nominees later selected by a committee. The page is chaotic, can find Madden towards the bottom.
  6. I like it. A forward for a D is always a win. Value is similar, though the edge might go to Lind.
  7. Bailey having himself a game! Give this guy a call-up.
  8. Lines look unchanged (confirming my theory that Sutter has been a healthy scratch this whole time, teehee).
  9. Yep:

@I.Am.Ironman Fortunately, Naslund completely missed the puck, so he could just circle back and get it.

Yeah.. Unfortunately I don't think he scored. The media tore him apart after though

Happened to me once back in midget, but I have a damn good reason. The ice wasn't quite set, and the puck actually got frozen to the ice. Had to chip it out. Refs ended up giving me another go at it, haha.

  10. Ya, just watch some Comets games and you'll see he's no where close to what you're describing.
  11. What a game so far. the Comets seem to turn it up anytime JB is attending.
  12. psst he was taken with the Baertschi pick. (someone had to say it).
  13. Lol you're funny. Eriksson/Sutter/Baertschi just deleted, not even a buyout cap hit.
  14. Haha, I created a proposal around Hogland + our dead cap to make things work going forward. I'm glad you're highlights this issue as well OP. We'll be losing guys just to keep our core and hope that ELCs can fill some roles. Even then, there's risk of guys performing on ELCs and hitting their bonuses. I see many people assuming a cap increase, well ticket sales are down across the board and they'll be dipping into escrow to keep the cap flat at best. I'm happy people are seeing Sutter for the cap dump he is. He has long lost me as a fan. Anyways, back to next season. I see us walking from Tanev (injury history) and Stecher. I could see Leivo coming back for the same contract, if only due to this knee injury hampering his stats/appeal. Markstrom 5-6m (hopefully) with term, Gaudette 'show me' 2-3m 2 years, Virtanen 3m 3 years, Leivo 1.5m (as mentioned). 11.5-13.5m for those guys, puts us to a 17 man roster, needing 2 defenseman and extras. Hopefully Rafferty and Juolevi can make the jump - 2m between em. Anyone that doesn't see next season and the one after as having cap problems needs to spend some time on 'armchair gm': https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm We'll be getting worse on paper, no matter how you slice it. We have to deal our dead cap, even if that means adding an attractive piece.
  15. You gotta pick Larkin from the Atlantic division. Definitely pick the guy who doesn't want to be there. My picks: Larkin, Oshie, Laine, Hughes x10
  16. Friedman said it during the intermission of the earlier games. I only have hearsay tweets, but i'll turn this rumour into a report once Friedman writes something in 31 thoughts or video surfaces. Honestly, if it was anything, even a bag of pucks, the Canucks should have taken it. Maybe Habs wanted us to take cap back and it's a hard no. We'll see how this plays out.
  17. It's a discussion thread, there's going to be discussion. Hell, it got people talking about the cap situation, and thinking about the dead cap we inevitably have to deal with. I thought moving Hog with 10m+ in dead cap would be a high compliment to what he's worth. Just move on if u have nothing to post. Comments like yours are far worse than any bad proposal.
  18. Price that into his extension, teehee. That's freaking awesome though. Let's get Hughes in too, I might actually watch this garbage.
  19. It's unfortunate, but you appear to be plugging your ears and stomping your feet. Disagree with the proposal, fine, these wide generalizations and forcing a narrative i haven't portrayed in the least is pathetic. Keep up that straw man.
  20. Ya, i was considering that too. Even if we do manage to keep our core, we'll need guys making near entry-level. I share your opinion of our 'garbage cap situation'
  21. ?? The Seattle expansion is in 2021, Baertschi and Sutter's contracts would have expired. Why would Seattle take on a cap dump?
  22. ya, and dump some cap in the process. 17m in capspace next year with 13 signed. need to re-up Virtanen/Gaudette and sign pending UFAs Tanev/Markstrom. Do that, and you still have to free probably 18m for Petey/Hughes the year after. We'll need to start dumping cap, that might cost us pieces.
